She was my favorite character that was introduced in Mass Effect 2. She had a really interesting personality and character; such as having super powers, being engineered for perfect, detached personality, ect. It leaves a lot of room for character development, one of my favorite things in stories.

Yep, lots of interesting aspects to her character. We can only hope they keep her interesting and won't make her into a standard romance heroine.

I'm not keeping up much with ME3 because I'm all about surprises, to be honest, but if Cerberus is the enemy she could possibly betray Cerberus for you if you did a romance? It would be both very out of character, but also somewhat in her character for her emotional attachment invested in the romance. I agree it's not the best idea, but just brainstorming. Or if Cerberus is more of a "fake ally" so to speak, she could always be assisting you and they decide to betray you she remains with you?

The idea wasn't that she'd betray you to Cerberus because she turned her back on you, but because she was blackmailed into it by threats to Oriana. I don't like the scenario because I don't want Oriana to be a plot hook again, but if it comes to pass, I expect her to switch over to Shepard's side when we meet her again. In fact, she may have betrayed Shepard by giving TIM certain information, but I don't think TIM would trust her enough to lead a mission against Shepard, so if we meet her again, it will not be as an antagonist.
And that's not even considering that TIM might not be the one behind the Cerberus/Reaper co-operation.

Just want to interject on this and mention that in the comic they state Cerberus establishes a base beyond the Omega-4 relay after the events of the SM.
I'm thinking Cerberus got data from the team on that derelict mission on the IFF and found a way to get past the relay whether or not you kept/destroyed the base.

Why so complicated? EDI has the IFF data. You can't seriously believe that TIM hasn't got spy programs installed, possibly even with a secret QE link. I say as soon as EDI debugged the IFF TIM got it as well.

Because complicated = interesting, and simple = boring :P
At least to me it is
Anyway it looks like the team was on the derelic Reaper for quite some time.  They must have sent him daily reports.

EDI was still working for TIM even late in the SM where she transmits the schematics of the CB. There's no doubt she transmitted data about the IFF to him.

At that point the Reapers aren't there nor does anyone have an idea that their invasion is just around the corner. It might as well be ten years off. Nobody knows.

That's the rub, isn't it?

Of course, if she knew why Shepard was responsible for the death of a star system then she would know the invasion is closer than anyone.

If she didn't know, then she's an idiot for assuming that Shepard killed off all those people for kicks and giggles.

If she's smart (And you all say she is), the simple deduction is that Shepard would only do it because he saw a threat large enough to warrent that kind of sacrifice. (Gee, I wonder what that would be. Posted Image)

Not knowing doesn't mean not preparing. Which leads me to this next point:

Also, realistically, what could she do besides protect Oriana? The cell is dead, she lost a lot of resources when she left Cerberus, the Alliance and Council would arrest her, and she doesn't even know Liara is the Broker.

Protect Oriana is well and good. Hell, I'd encourage it. Hanging out with her after "leaving" Cerberus? Way bad idea since both are being hunted (If that's even the case). Miranda understands the big picture. Don't have resources? She has to make some. Don't have a way to protect Oriana? She may not know Liara isn't the Shadow Broker, but what's to stop Liara from not knowing about Miranda's situation? (I thought you were a Miranda/Liara fan?)

I was just pointing out what I think are flaws. Consider it an advace review since you did post it. It's your fic, you can write it anyway you like. Just like how I choose not to read it or criticize it.

She would only know that the invasion would've already happened had Shepard not intervened. It might as well have set back the Reapers' plans for a decade. Nobody knows how far out in intergalactic space they presently are. And hey, she's talking with Oriana for five minutes and you're assuming she doesn't do anything useful? What sort of logic is that?

Again, don't criticize on assumptions not substantiated by one little excerpt. What Miranda is currently doing is not yet told. What Liara does or does not know has no bearing on the situation if Miranda doesn't know she might be useful. As for hanging out, perhaps it would be safer to stay hidden in safe houses 100% of the time. But people can't usually do that for long without losing their mind. And if Oriana must go out sometimes, isn't it better if Miranda is with her? Apart from that, it would be boring.

I find your reaction quite surprising, I must say. You write a long fanfic yourself, you should be able to see what is actually told and what are assumptions.

If you mist know, Miranda is currently working in a job she dislikes to provide for Oriana. About a paragraph from now, Feron will offer her a chance to unravel a medical mystery and eventually take out Cerberus.

jtav: Personally, I think that Miranda was not acting OOC per say. However, a certain hint of sadness that it took the deaths of 300 000 people in order to bring Shepard down a notch would be appropriate, IMO.
The setting is interesting, the narrative is good even if I think that Miranda understading her father's position was taking it a bit too far too soon but it's just not the type of story I can enjoy.
I'm a fan of both Miranda and Shepard (as far as you can be fan of the player's avatar) and I'm ok with them having a more antagonistic relationship towards each other. For example, I enjoyed yours "All I see are ghosts." In that story, Shepard's reaction was understandable.
In here, Shepard just sounds like an ungrateful, self-rigtheous ****. Maybe it's something that you intend on working on in later chapters, maybe Shepard will have some character development, maybe not.
It's obviously intentional so I'm not going to say that it's something that requires changing. Instead I'm going to wish you good luck with this fanfic even if it is not something that I will be reading.

I'm hoping Comic-Con. At the very least, a scrap of new news involving her, if not some video. Concept art. Maybe a synopsis.

Come on man! Give us something!

I'm hoping it's soon, but as jtav said I expect it to be far away, at least if she's as relevant to the plot as we'd like.

Probably the fall.. maybe around Skyrim's release in October? I could see them throwing out some big(squadmembers, game mechanics, or something pretty relevant) info around then to keep themselves in the scope of gamer's minds.

There's a chance at each convention/event coming up.
There's quite a few coming up this summer FYI (3+)
The chances go up as we head to March of next year.

So, I'm thinking it might be later in this year/early next year too.
But I wouldn't be surprised if something comes out before the summer is out.

The most important information we won't have before we play the game I guess. For anything else, I'm hoping for GamesCom, of course ;)

I have a feeling its going to be hanled like Merrill was in DA2 we won't hear a single thing about her and then one day we'll see a glimse of her and we might get a few screenshots of her but we won't learn anything solid until we play the game.

And that probably won't hear about that until maybe 2 months before the release.

What jtav and ispeakthetruth said. January is the earliest we'll get information. if any. We'll have to wait and see and by 3.6.12 we'll all either be pleasantly surprised or bitterly disappointed All we can do now is speculate and suppose.

For better or worse, the first two chapters are up. Reviews appreciated.

The Modern Prometheus
Summary: All Miranda needed was a chance to put her skills to use after Shepard and Cerberus betrayed her. Thane thought the best he could hope for was atonement before the inevitable. The new Shadow Broker may be able to offer both more than they ever dreamed.
