About Shepard finding Miranda:

Shepard: (opens eyes to see Miranda hovering over him) Found you.

Miranda: (smiles) Yes you did. Although you did let me spend two weeks thinking you were dead you bastard.

Shepard: Won't happen again.

Miranda: I'll hold you to that. (kisses Shepard)

+1

That pretty much summed up my head canon...

+2

For me Miranda finding Shepard seems more...right. This allows that to happen, while still referencing the "find me" conversation.

Also, it is awesome.

This may possibly interest/amuse you guys:

[quote]Ashley Williams had changed. Her hair was no longer tied into an efficient bun, but loose about her shoulders. Her uniform was a brilliant Alliance blue with a single gold stripe on the shoulders. She wore a bit more makeup. But her eyes hadn’t changed a bit. She still glared at Miranda like she wanted to dissect her while she was still alive. Without anesthesia.

"She's going to be our doctor? With all due respect, ma'am, have you lost your mind?"

Shepard rested her hand on the briefing console, and her eyebrows knit together in frustration. "We need the best. I'll vouch for Lawson’s medical ability. And I'm hoping she can lead us to intel on Cerberus operations.”

“Are we so sure she's former Cerberus? She could be a spy or a mole. Like Eva Corré. She could have been said here to assassinate Victus.”

How nice to know the Alliance was still paranoid while being utterly incapable of focusing on the genuine threat. "If I were on an assassination mission, it had been sent after a dalarrass. Turian succession is entirely too clear and orderly for assassination to be an effective disruption tactic. And the next in the line of succession is Garrus’ father. Do you really think Cerberus wants to contend with him after his son died because of the mission we recruited him for? I assure you, unless the Illusive Man has become stupid as well as insane, it's in Cerberus’ best interest to keep your precious primarch alive."

Shepard glared at her. "Not helping, Lawson." She turned back to Ashley. "We need all the help we can get, and Miranda's have plenty of opportunities to stab me in the back both before and after I left Cerberus."

"I'm not saying we shouldn't let her help. Just then letting the supposed medical genius of a group of mad scientists work on the crew might not be the smartest idea. If she wants to help, take her to a secure facility and let AIS debrief her."

"If you think for one second I'm going to spend this war locked up…"

"Easy. I'm afraid you're stuck with Lawson as CMO." Shepard straightened and took a step back. Miranda knew what that meant. The discussion was over. Apparently Ashley knew it too because she sighed and put her hands behind her back.

"Understood.” She glared at Miranda. "I don't know why the commander trusts you. If it were me, I'd toss you in the holding cells. Just to be on the safe side. But she's letting you have run of the ship. Don't you dare abuse that trust. If you do, the Reapers will be the least of your problems. Am I clear?"

LOL.
That should have been in the game, jtav! I like Miranda's reply - her version of "I'm not stupid, but I'm not so sure about you". And Ashley is....well....Ashley. She has, after all, a point: Miranda was Cerberus 2IC.

Wait, why is Miranda in any medical capacity? She's a jack of all trades intelligence agent, isn't she?

There was the Lazarus project. Miranda is an expert in biology, bio-engineering and medicine.

There's also the fact that she's only filling that role so she can unobtrusively act as Shepard's personal physician.

Eh, I've always interpreted her "leading the Lazarus Project" character piece as her being in a management or "make sure nothing assbackwards happens on this project" position. And of course, report the important stuff to TiM.

She knew Wilson's estimates about something was off. That would take some medical know-how.

That's been disproven by ME3. Shepard practically fawns over Miranda for the accomplishment. And it was Miranda that said Lazarus was possible in the first place. She knows her stuff.

I guess so. Maybe it's just my head canon, I just don't see her as a doctor. I think she puts things together and keeps it together. That's what I gathered from any of the dialogue referring to the Lazarus Project. I mean, when ME2 starts, we only see Miranda and Wilson but I can imagine a project like that required minimum 20 people. I mean....Miranda weilding a scalpel? Or being the anestesiologist? Eh.....yea, she may know the numbers simply based on height, weight, and activity level. But I just can't wrap my head around that, to me, she's no doctor.

But if you say so, then fine

She's not a doctor by calling, I'd agree with that. But she has more than enough knowledge to take a job as one.

See, that's the issue I'm having. "take a job as one". Maybe it's because  I'm applying 21st century real life logic to this (and my mom is a doctor as well), you don't just take a job as a doctor, even if you "have alot of knowledge".

The medical profession, it's like a giant fraternity, there's so much that goes into being allowed into that group, more than just "she knows stuff". Especially since a patient is trusting their life with you as the doctor. You can't just "take a job as one", there's too much at stake in a profession like that. At least that's how I see it.

You can if the only reason you're serving is that Shepard's implants are causing severe neural decay, and she needs someone both capable and that she can trust to keep this secret.

There are lore inconsistencies here. The ME1 Codex says a fighter is a one-man short-range craft (one-man seems implausible so I'd go with two), but in the ME2 Codex it's implied that there are FTL-capable fighters (see the A-61 Mantis Gunship entry). Also Miranda must have a way to move her team from place to place, so that means either several fighters or one larger ship. It seems someone forgot or chose to disregard the lore.

Which feeds into the idea that it wasn't incredibly thought-out, and why I can understand people feeling that it seems a little out of character. :)

Personally, since I read the fighter is apparently 'highly customisable', I could see it getting an FTL drive but not extra seats.

BTW, I read the newest chapters of your fanfic. The TIM encounter is very good, but I think Miranda overthinks her behaviour in the Shepard encounter. And....even if she does, the reader doesn't have to know every detail of her thinking process. It has an adverse affect on the flow of the dialogue. I also think that at this point of the romance, her behaviour in the romance part would be intuitive rather than calculated. At least it shouldn't appear quite as calculated as you make it.

Thanks for taking the time to read it. That's some useful feedback. Although, I'll have to respectfully disagree on the 'calculated' part. Or at least, I see it more as 'cautious' (but interested. Very interested). Keep in mind, I'm just trying to keep it consistent with what the game shows instead of rewriting what's there. So, she may appear a bit out of character in trying to bridge that gap. Probably need some adjustments to get that across.

Well, I tend to think of her more as a scientist than a doctor. But her work as a scientist seems to have been oriented toward biology. It's a bit of a stretch, maybe, to have her take on that role, but an interesting one.

Well, for that specifically she makes the most sense, definitely. But that's because she was the project lead.

It's a bit different from something like ship's doctor.

I HOPE you all remember to put MY Drawing and Letter to the Miri Fan Book. ONCE AGAIN, here are MY Things:

Dear BioWare,

Once again I would like to thank you for making the epic Sci-Fi
Trilogy known as Mass Effect. There has been no greater Sci-Fi
Trilogy since Star Wars, and Mass Effect joins the ranks of said films.

Now to the point: It is indeed true that you are creating and "Extended Cut"
for the endings of Mass Effect 3. In my previous letter, I have mentioned Miranda,
being my ONLY Love Interest. Since she was unable to join my squad, I would very
much like to see her in some sort of Epilogue in the Extended Endings. I chose to
destroy the Reapers, and since my "Military Strength" was above 6000 (Along with
the Readiness Rating of 100%) the blast of the Crucible killed the Reapers only,
sparing all organic life, including my own. I am hoping that Miranda survived as well,
and I would very much love to see my Shepard and Miranda Reunited on Earth.
I want this to be a GOOD/HAPPY Reunion. I don't want to see Shepard finding a dying Miranda.
A happy reunion scene should exist for all other players who have different Love Interests as well.
This is included with the question, "What happens next for all of the Characters we know and love?" .
A lot of us do not want to imagine it, we want to actually it happen. Anyway, having a sweet reunion with
Miranda would most definitely put a smile on every Miranda Romancer in the world,
including yours truly. It shouldn't be much for you to handle. If you can make a Sci-Fi
epic of great proportions, then you can easily pull this off. Please, BioWare....
though this may be proven impossible for the Control and Synthesis Endings,
there are still thousands out there, me included, who want to see our Miranda again.

Sincerely,

Luis AKA MASSEFFECTfanforlife101
