Thane. And as long as it's LOTSB quality, I have little reason to complain. I'm so panicky about them screwing her up, time on squad doesn't get much brainspace

I'm worried too about him. I really like him, and he was for me one of the three most useful squadmates in ME3 (with Mordin and Miranda). I hope that they're not going to screw him due the illness.

Miranda won't be just a cameo, im positive about that, why:
- she is possible Li
- her fanbase is huge
- Cerberus plays huge part in ME3 i can't possible think why she wouldn't have any role with them, considering she is/was one of the top officers.

I agree with the second and third reason, but the first isn't something we can count on. I have the feeling that some LI are going to be screwed. I really hope not. In my opinion every LI should have a fair space in ME,3, even if someone will get a bigger space than others.

The only LI i don't give a crap about it is Jacob. But yeah i will realy fell sorry for those who romanced Thane if he will just die without any conclusion for his charachter.

I like all the companions so far in the serie with the exception of Morinth. And if even one LI of the previous games will not get a fair treatment, I'll be disappointed. Every player should have a good conclusion for their romance.

I doubt they'll let him die without having some sort of conclusion. Even if he does die, i'm sure it'll be an emotional moment and plenty of screen time, i dont think they'd just let him go without some kinda closure.

I could see Thane's continuation being a rather sad one. Perhaps nearing death already he will save Shepard from death and in the process injure himself fatally that would make a rather sad final conversation for a LI.

Something like "I was already a dying man when I met you... but you made me feel like I was alive again that I had a life again... its better this way. You saved my life, I had to return the favor."

Anyway back to Miranda. I know there's a big conversation thing going to happen four days from now... and I'm expecting to hear nothing about Miranda. =(

Thane ranks high among the "Where are they now and what are they doing in ME3" list for me.

He states that he has about a year to live in ME2. ME3 *starts* between 6-12 months after ME2. Aside from Miranda he is someone I'm interested in finding out what happens to him.

So in order: Miranda, Liara, Thane, Legion, Mordin.

Mordin, Legion, and Miranda are the highest ranked on my "Where are they now and what are they doing in ME3" list. I already have an idea of what Mordin is up to. I think Legion is allying himself with Quarians and trying to improve geth/quarian relations, I just need to know what Miranda has been up to.

I must agree with blood drunk. Bioware won't cut out LIs. If the yhave to chose between let's say, miranda and samara, they'll chose Miranda. Don't look at it for the player's point of view. Look at it from a developing perspective. The good people at Bioware put much more time into Miranda than(again, let's use Samara) Samara. If they make Miri a cameo, then they've pretty much just waisted hours upon hours of work, and made even more hours spent on Samara meaningless.

Definitely. Miranda and Shepard are perfect companions. Well, as long as you can roleplay Shepard as reasonably smart, which is quite the challenge. Miranda wouldn't respect StupidShep.

Anytime i try for a playthrough where i romance a different LI, i always end up flirting or giving in altogether with Miranda lol.

I know the feeling
I've tried several times to play a game where Shepard stays with Ashley and doesn't romance anyone else, but it never works.

I'm hoping her resignation at the end of ME2 was enough to keep her wholly dedicated to Shepard and his cause, i can't imagine what else she'd be doing otherwise? Don't think she'd be too keen on joining the Alliance, and i don't see her becoming some type of mercenary or anything like that, so she'd have to stick by Shep's side?

Actually, Miranda has her own cause. It's Cerberus' official line of "advancement and protection of humanity". If she breaks with Cerberus, it can have different reasons, and one of them is that she thinks Cerberus doesn't embody that cause anymore, but there is no indication that she's gone back on it herself. She'll be with Shepard because their goals are compatible, not because she'll follow his whatever happens. And I certainly hope that should Shepard sacrifice humanity for the rest of the galaxy, she'll not follow him.

Blood
But there is no chance in hell Miranda could kill Kai Leng. This guy killed everyone who was apointed too, never takes any risks and he single handedly killed a Krogan with just a knife.

True, Kai Leng is badass, but Miranda isn't exactly ordinary herself. And Kai Leng is not a biotic. I wouldn't bet on the outcome of that fight. Though I think we'll have the opportunity to face him with Shepard and Miranda in the squad.

Sadly, I get cameo vibes from Jacob. I'm sorry to say for Thane as well - unless they find a way to make the hanar contribute to the war and Thane will be our liaison.

Heh....I wonder if it will take Reaper technology to cure Thane and reverse Miranda's infertility. Not exactly plausible, but I'd appreciate the irony so much. Apart from that, Thane is set up as a tragic romance. Those who romanced him knew what was coming. So I'd not be surprised if he really dies around the end of ME3.

Casey Hudson appears to think differently. Recall his statement last year that "Miranda is a simpler character"? No, I won't let him forget that little slight.

Let's hope they take Miranda's different aspects into account when they write her ME3 scenes.

'simpler' characters in terms of set-up can have very complex stories, likewise complex characters to set-up (like, say, jack) can then result in much simpler stories - evidence of this is in ME2: even after all the set-up (tattoos, history, abuse, cerberus etc), jack is rather one-note throughout; whereas miranda does start from a simple position "loyalist" - that's what they marketed her as, after all. but taking that she ends up as one of the most complex characters because she actually has some development, a subtle personality shift (which such a fixed-state jack can't do), an interesting LM and then the break with the 'loyalty' persona at the end to top it all off. i don't believe casey meant it as a slight.

I'm pretty much holding off on my final canon playthrough until I know if Miranda will be a permanent squaddie :P

I love Tali, Ashley is fun, but Miranda is IMO the most fitting LI for the Shepard I play (mostly paragon actually, but one who wants people to challenge him.)

And what will you do differently if she isn't one? I can't see anything I'd do differently except if they character-assassinate her. And that I won't know until I've played ME3 at least once. Or read too many spoilers.

Agreed. Though I think that they're not going to show too much spoiler thing about her. So I think that we're going to play ME3 to see how they developed her in ME3.

I can't imagine my playstyle changing depending on Miranda's squad status. I don't romance her, let her shoot Niket, and keep the base. Hopefully things will work out well.

Assuming the mechanic isn't gone, I'd like Miranda to take over as science officer from Mordin. Or maybe medical officer since I'm convinced there's something up with those implants. There's an idea: she's on your ship in a research capacity, too busy to fight, and only picks up her gun again when it's time to deal with Cerberus.

And you could still talk with her, just as you do with Joker, and I don't wonder why someone that skilled is just being used as a soldier. It also has the advantage of keeping squad size manageable without players feeling shafted. 1-2 ship conversation, 1 mission, and you're golden.
