I'm not exactly saying that I wish children and parenthood had been brought up - the idea was more or less that a good character arc for Miranda would've been her realization that she may be more similar to her father than she would ever want to be, and either her acceptance of who she is or her struggle to change.
Shepard's ability to influence this would make it a pretty compelling series of conversations as well.
I definitely see what you're getting at now (sorry about the side-tracking a few pages back).
I think there's a bit of that in the control chip dialogue, which is partly why I think it's the best in the game for Miranda (and arguably one of the best in the game, period, when you combine it the Lazarus stuff that is also mentioned there). She has been considering the similarity between her father's attitude toward his "creations" and her own initial attitude toward Shepard, whom she had just rebuilt/recreated.
It's good stuff and suggests to me where the whole arc really should be going/should have gone: the confrontation with the father becomes the catalyst for further growth, with Miranda embracing her origins (but without the domineering intent of her father).
