I wonder if anyone else has made a backstory like this: Cyrus Shepard met Miranda before, in 2176, and had a fling with her when they were both disguised and under cover. When they met again in ME2, they didn't recognize each other until the engine room scene. No in-between relationship for him because he couldn't forget the mysterious woman who was found to not exist according to the Alliance's records.jtav wrote...
I think there's a lot of room for variation in Shep's sexual history. I have one that would have done iPartners, another that was married and divorced, and another that I'm not sure notices non0Miranda people as sex-objects. The divorcee is the only one I RP'd as dumping Miranda, ironically enough.

I can but restate that Miranda had no reason to hide from her father who knew full well where she was (and couldn't do **** about it) and that any time she needed to go undercover for Cerberus, she obviously used a different codename. There is no inconsistency here and Bioware has plenty of other ways to imply that viewers are morons. This is not one of them.

I seem to remember requesting this story somewhere before and somebody was going to write it for me. I can't quite remember who it was though... *cough*Ieldra-you-owe-me-a-fanfic*cough*
This plot bunny really won't leave me alone though. I've always liked origin stories and the idea of Miranda and Shepard having met before ME2 (even if they weren't aware of it) is too delicious for me to let it go.

Mass Effect, for me, was Technically supposed to be ONE Story, ONE Trilogy for me. But because of EVERYONE saying how much I should start something new and have a different Shepard and Love Interest, my Beliefs on how MY Version of Mass Effect was to Exist was horribly manipulate because of all this pressure I get from other people when they just don't get that I don't want any Other Versions of Mass Efects, I don't want other Characters, and I don't want other Love Interests.
I'm sorry. I just what to stick with My ONE Mass Effect Story. I see My Mass Effect as a Complete Made Flim and Book Trilogy, written in Stone. No Alternate Gender, and No Alternate Love Interest. Just the ONE Trilogy with that ONE Story, and I just want to keep it that way.
I just don't want to. I see AND I'm Comfortable With My Mass Effect Experience as Just ONE Trilogy, with ONE Shepard, and ONE Love Interest (MIRANDA LAWSON).
I'm so sorry everyone.

They are from the eruption of the Chaiten volcano, back from 2008. A good combination of a lighting storm with an eruption, it can show us how amazing and dangerous can be mother nature.

I'm sorry that "Masks and Mirrors" stayed unfinished. I haven't given up on it completely - the problem was that the file with the complete chapter 3 plus a romance scene from chapter 4 was destroyed when my HDD had a hiccup and my USB stick went defective on the same day. Demotivation set in, and then my betaing and co-plotting for DoI took up way too much space in my mind.
@drwells:
You want a spoiler? Hint....it's blue.

So..err uhm hi Miranda fans!
As noticed from my sig I'm a Thanemancer, but Miranda is awesome in my book because she is a strong, intelligent and dedicated lady, so basically count me as someone who likes Miranda alot.
And with that said I wanted to drop this #FindMiranda #SaveThane alliance poster here!
/BTW wishing you all good luck on both the #FindMiranda campaign and the Miranda Fanbook!

What difference does it make? First off remember the compartmentalized cell nature of Cerberus. Despite working there for 20 years there's no guarantee she's come into contact with more than two or three dozen people. And there's nothing that says she didn't use a code name when part of earlier cells (maybe during the operative days). I've previously stated that she used other code names when on missions but she could easily have used them within an operative cell as well.fongiel24 wrote...
The problem for me is that Miranda uses her real name within Cerberus. No, she can't hide her identity from her father but does she need to share it with everyone she works with as well? She's got to have enemies other than her father and TIM and allowing them to find out who she was so easily is a liability. Cerberus is hardly an airtight organization.
Right off the bat in ME2 Cerberus brings in an outsider who learns Miranda's real name immediately (Shepard). Half an hour into the game a member of Miranda's team turns out to be a traitor. An hour or so into the game the outsider starts recruiting more outsiders, many of whom have a serious issues with Cerberus, and all of them now know her real name.
Miranda and Cerberus might try to bury her identity and past as much as possible but for someone with the right skills and enough resources could probably dig it up quite easily. Given that Miranda is both Cerberus' #2 and has likely worked as a covert agent in the past, I find it mindboggling that Miranda wouldn't bury her real name and identity and throw away the key a la Sarah Walker from Chuck (apologies for being the millionth person to compare the two characters).
