Well, what's going to happen is... I am going to take everything we have at the deadline, format what I haven't formatted already, and put it together in a coherent way.
Then I make the draft .pdf available to everyone, and we can talk over how it might be improved. So, anyway, it will be possible to edit your text, but I will need essentially what you intend to submit by tomorrow.

Hey Vertigo, if I wanted to submit a letter, would it be ok if I submitted a letter I wrote for a different project? It's Miranda related and sums up how I more or less feel about part of her role in ME3. I can PM it to you.
Sure, I remember flemm wanted me to submit a similar letter I put in for the LIA project if I couldn't come up with something new on my own (I've written too many letters on Miranda LOL) but I believe you should email it to the address put up for submissions

Yeah. My feelings on this are: it's really your call, o Ventus. Whatever you want to say in the book should be in the book. Maybe take another look at it, revise, update, whatever seems right. Then send it in.

Hey flemm, any limits on letters or fics? And any particular focus for either?
In terms of length, you mean? For letters, no. At least not unless you are attempting to outdo Skullheart's manifesto in terms of scale.
Good luck with that
We have quite a few long and detailed letters, but also quite a few that are more succinct, and both can be quite effective. I like that there is a variety.
For fiction, it is somewhat similar. Quite a few submissions have been a short scene or dialogue, and these work very well when formatted, with an author's note and a catchy title. We do have a few longer submissions, i.e. in excess of 1,000 words. But overall we have tried to keep the fic submissions fairly concise.
Focus? Well, the theme of the book is "The Many Facets of Miranda Lawson," which is the main point we are making here: we love the complexity of the character and don't feel it was adequately explored in ME3. (See Vertigo's image for a really nice expression of that, in passing.)
So, the nice thing about that theme is that you can choose a vision or facet of the character that you want to explore in your fiction or letter, and that naturally adds another "facet" to the book. So, for fiction, that would be my advice: pick something that illustrates a certain character trait, or some part of the character that interests you in particular. Something that defines your "take" on the character.
For letters, you can take the standard "Dear Bioware" approach, explain why you are a fan, and what you would like to see in future Miranda content. Or you can take a more "roleplay" approach, and write from the point of view of your Shepard. This can also work very well. We have a few of these, and they add a different tone.

Think of this scenario! Shepard breaks up with Miranda using the same reasoning from the breakup scene in ME3, only its in the apartments. Would it be in character for Miranda to have one last roll in the hay?

It depends. If he earlier said "i'll always want you in my life", then i think she would throw him out the windowyesikareyes wrote...
Okay, another Miri fic question:

But no i don't really think so, her sister is in danger and her love just broke up with her, i don't think sex would really be on her mind.

Definitely not. She's too emotionally wounded by the break-up to have a mind for sex. I can see this happen in situations where the break-up is more of a mutual agreement, but not in this case.yesikareyes wrote...

Why would she? He broke her heart. I doubt she'd initiate it. He's the fool for ending it. She'd remember what he did... She'd probably tell him to *bleeping* leave or she would just to avoid crying in front of him.
I think maybe after some time later after months and old feelings came back for both for whatever reason. Probably Shepard would initiate it. I don't know. She seemed pretty upset.
I had a similar issue if shepard asked her to marry him and they haven't been together that long would she say yes..., to avoid breaking up with him... because she felt "attached" to him and liked the sex.
I always figured she'd say yes, then never talk about it again. Or avoid setting a date or maybe say some day in the future... blah blah... I don't think she'd want to be tied down but she probably wouldn't want anyone else to have him either if she's possessive of him. (in a good way)

Hahaha... they are very awkward to write. And then having someone read it is another thing...

I had a male friend of mine read it and thought I should write for erotic romances. But alas, I'm very shy about posted them online. So... yeah, I see why they do a lot of "fade to black" in tv and games.
Show me the money!!! (meaning: the fics)
I'd have to be a damn good writer to make a fic super interesting without the sex!! I think that good steamy smut can balance out bad writing and vice versa.

I wanted to do this:
"Shepard breaks up with Miranda in ME3, but later on realizes that he made a mistake. When he sees her in the apartments he apologizes and makes it up to her"
Wasn't my idea though, jtav linked it sometime ago. But I liked it enough that it's stuck in my mind for now as something to work on in the future.

Yeah no kidding! A perfect example: Chuck. They hardly showed Chuck and Sarah having fun sexually except maybe twice with very little detail... just enough to say they did it. In the back of my mind, it was always there. Don't they ever have sex or make love???
Send me your email addy in pm and I'll pick a favorite scene of mine. You can tell me if it's too... um wordy.
I always thought it would be funny to write Miranda and Shepard sucking faces and Oriana interrupts them... How Miranda would react? Embarrassed maybe... or leave with Shepard to finish elswhere or later.

Yeah, I like it if it's done like that. I have never watched Chuck though. That's only because, I discovered ME2 first and I think Strahovski is Miranda all the time and I want her for Shepard only lol.
I'm 18. Close enough!! But who cares? I've been faking my age in the internet since age 10 hahaha.
I say, leave with Shepard to finish elsewhere!!
Well, I guess that solves it. Miranda will be so devastated and walk out to leave Shepard. No honey for you in this fic Shep, sorry.
