Quite the contrary. They are some of the most heartfelt moments in the game.
It enfuriates me beyond imagination that the scene where she lives feels so rushed by comparison but credit where it's due.

I still haven't seen the death scene. I don't know what it is but I just can't bring myself to kill Miranda. Even in my ME2 playthroughs where I was deliberately trying to get everyone killed to see what would happen I kept Miranda alive. I'm tempted to try letting Miranda die in ME3 to see if it's as heartbreaking as people say but the thought of having to start a new game from the beginning is daunting. And I can't bring myself to kill Miranda .

Since we're kind of talking about Chuck, I just finished season five last night. Did anyone else find the ending of the final episode a little disappointing? I didn't realize how much I had invested in the Chuck/Sarah relationship (it's sickeningly sweet which I normally hate but the writers somehow pull it off - at least for me) until the final scene left me emotionally hanging.

Hmmm...try Youtubing it. Image IPB

Well there's a 7 point increase in Asset # for the 'Fifth Fleet' if you attack Cronos Station using the tracer to find it. (Element of Surprise).  I don't know why that's there, and there's no mention of it in the updates for Fifth Fleet.

Otherwise the number stays the same if you use the shipping manifests to get the location on the base.
I tried it a few times myself to make sure back when the game came out and everyone was wondering if the only reward we got if we kept her alive was 25 Points.

Perhaps it's a bug? I mean her mission itself was rushed soooo you know...

Example: Zaeed says he'll get some merc buddies to help out when you do his mission, but there's no change in # WA just th 25 he gives himself

I've gotten to the point where I just assume that Cerberus went ahead and built an android Miranda in an attempt to manipulate Shepard.

Who would you compare the Character Rick Deckard ("Blade Runner") to anyone in Mass Effect.

And which Main Female Protagonist in Film would you compare Miri to?

It could have been handled better, but the scene is OK for me in its emotional tone. I'm much more concerned about the lack of talk about the future and that the possibility of her joining up for the attack on Cronos Station is never brought up. To say nothing of that she doesn't join.

Well, imo, speaking in narrative terms, the problem is that the confrontation with the father should be the fulcrum of the story, the middle point, the obstacle to be overcome, beyond which growth and some type of fulfillment is achieved.

It's why the email helps significantly, because it sketches out that type of scenario, though it is only a sketch. Certainly Miranda joining up for Chronos station would also work. That would make Miranda's story a "full circle" type of story, where she returns to the point of origin having undergone a period of trial. Miranda's story *could* work like that, but it doesn't really have to. I think Miranda simply moving off in a more independant direction could be equally satisfying.

It might be even more to my liking, if done well, because "full circle" stories tend to have a lingering taste of fate or destiny, whereas Miranda breaking off on her own could be a bit more... liberating, so to speak. I think Rach's sketch of Miranda as a pilot, with the wind in her hair, really captures the sense of potential liberation offered by that scenario.

Anyway, it has to go somewhere.

What's odd/unfortunate, is that the potential is there for this to be a truly great story, if you look at the outline. Because it would/should have been possible for this whole arc to play out in the actual game. Whereas, often, the "growth" we see happens in between games. We don't really see it unfold. It's just: Now X is doing this and Y is over here, and Z is a Spectre, etc., etc. We do see Liara become the SB, but, since this has nothing to do with her character as originally introduced, it doesn't have the same force as Miranda's story in ME3 potentially could have had, if we had experienced the fulfillment onscreen, either at Cronos station, or in the more independant scenario.

Miranda definitely is the most skillfully written and fully conceived character. She brought shepard back from the dead (with liara's help). Her Aussie accent endears her to me. I have never had her as an LI though.

Oh, and I played ME2 first then found out

Oh, sent the email to you yesikareyes.  Enjoy. Added a little bit before it happens to explain why she's so turned on.

Same. It was like falling in love all over again. :P
I wouldn't mind reading your fic as well. For research purposes, obviously...

I was OK with it. A happy ending was clearly implied (I believe the DVD/BD release includes an extended end that suggests Morgan was right). I just think Sarah's willingness to try again was good enough.

While the romance death variant is quite a heart-rending scene, the survival scenario is just OK whereas it should have been great.
I felt relieved that Miranda was alive and that Henry is no more. As for the romance content, I wish I could have seen more than a hug between them before she leaves.

Indeed what's the most frustrating thing is that there is not even a single line mentioning the possibility of her joining up to take down Cerberus. As I said in my letter, the Miranda I know would want to see the end of it first hand. Oriana can find someplace safe aboard an Alliance ship or even on the Normandy.

I'm kinda OK with the survival scenario from one perspective. I mean, I don't know the full-on metrics of who achieved it but that there were a few hoops to jump through, actually made the bond a little stronger. Though, you have to look behind-the-scenes to appreciate that.

Not that I think the game should go to some length about how you influenced the scenario, since I dislike the bit about Kai Leng, that dialogue is too on-the-nose "Probably saved my life."

Yesika, I will have to give your fic a proper read this evening. Spotted a missing apostrophe in the first line (sorry) but I really liked that first paragraph. Seems we have a lot of talented writers and artists in this here thread.

I like the original #findme poster and the MIA one. Ali's contribution and the minimalist. Not so keen on the reform cerberus ones. I'd be happy if it was an independent non-cerberus related covert operation. :)

Hey, LuxDragon is back in fanfiction. I asked him if he can submit a letter (even if the deadline is today). But I think he might be glad for sending a letter to Bioware. can you make an exception for the deadline from him?

Wait what are we voting on? There are 9 posters in your post anyway, one more on the way and you're already sending in the first one, leaving.... 9 to vote on again?

Anyway I am also of the opinion that the plain Find Miranda posters are more effective. The Reform Cerberus thing isn't really necessary and that's a separate idea anyway (though they're obviously related).

Well, it's important that we get down to the business of putting the book together, so we are not going to change the deadline for letters, fiction and art. Hopefully, if he would like to submit a letter, he can do so today.
