Regarding the ME3 squad I agree with flemm.
In my eyes they are likeable enought but that's it. For instance, it almost became a chore to go talk to them on the Normandy or on the Citadel.
Among them though, I think I like Javik, Traynor and Garrus the most.

unlike me2 you could only really talk to javik most of the time... thankfully he's in the top 4 best characters in the trilogy. i thought the normandy conversations were oddly truncated - even though there's more incdental conversations, particularly between team-mates.

I doubt it. Miranda never comments on any other romances or squad members.

I'm insane. Just tweaked some things for Matt and will be running through with Miranda again. I need professional help.

Not more than I am. I ran Cyrus throught ME1 three times, through ME2 three times and through ME3 two times to get him right. What are you changing? And will you write any more about Matt and Claire/Miranda?

heh: 3-3-3 so far. plus i have slight alts to see how some different choices play out.

Okay, fair enough.
I just thought the "LOL wut" was uncalled for. Thing is, I wouldn't be making the statement if it wasn't true. But I'm also going to rely on my fellow officers to help push the project forward. I'll admit I maybe got a bit mad, but what you did was also a bit uncalled for.
Also, adding people on Skype then deleting them 2 minuets later to mess with them?
I just didn't like the sign of disrespect in front of the whole board, so I snapped a bit.
But I'd be willing to call a truce and dump the water under the bridge if you are. I'd still be willing to work out a friendship if you are, as well. Your call. Once again, I apologize if you can return it.

1. this is not appropriate on an open thread: take it to pm.
2. passive-aggressive much? - "i'll apologise but only if you do..."
3. [bolded] WTF? uh, that's not what happened.

As it stands, Oriana just so happened to be a very convenient plot device for Hack Walters to shaft Miranda out of Mass Effect 3 in favor of Team Dextro (thanks to the wailing fans who decided to go on twitter spamfests) and the blue waifu of his.

The thing is, I do like Oriana. If Miranda is dead, she becomes more of a real character (not that I've ever seen that in-game). It's just that she shouldn't be Miranda's sole raison d'être. Miranda was never like that in ME2, the change is insulting and divests her of everything that made her special.

Yeah, Oriana herself is fine. But it's only one dimension of the character, and not the most interesting one in isolation.

Oriana from the leaked version was much better. If Miranda didn't survive ME2 or was killed by Kai Leng she takes over Sanctuary and turns it into an actual refugee camp.

I believe Bioware took the easy route with Miranda (and most of the ME2 crew), concerning her mission with her sister again. Think about, Jacob didn't have a big fanbase, might as well make them more angry with his new role, Thane's death, even though they kept shoving the cure in our face, though I don't mind it. Zaeed and Kasumi, etc.

I'ts hard to be a fan of Miranda when most of her traits are ignored in ME3.

Her romance only works when she dies, offering a tragic romance. The scenario where she lives doesn't give us anything.

Well, enough negative thoughts for now. I'm doing some modeling in xnalara and I wanted to share it.

Image IPB

The "Shepard" model is a human engineer/infiltrator model from multiplayer (the people on xna forums still don't extract a male Shepard on N7 armor). Still need to pose a lot of him.

Yes, that was notewhorty. I wonder why they decided to cut that. Perhaps they couldn't or wouldn't record more lines?

I believe that is only refered to in one of the early story drafts. And it's in the scenario where Miranda survives that this is indicated. Probably just an idea that fell by the wayside.

Actually it's: "if Miranda survives the events of ME3 Oriana takes over Sanctuary"

But it's good. Great, even. It was not substituted by anything else and it wouldn't require any major changes.
So, why cut? Lack of time and money?

My gut says: Walters didn't approve it. "If Oriana stays on Sanctuary, Miranda could board the Normandy. I don't want that."

That line about Oriana leading Sanctuary felt like something you'd see in an epilogue card at the end of the game.

And likely what you said about resources is probably what happened (but we don't know 100%)

Well, the game's downhill slide starts around Miranda's mission. Probably disk space was very limited at that point, as well as time. I think disk space is actually the biggest limiting factor (hence a strict line budget being in place, etc.).

So, maybe. It's a good enough idea that you'd think it would make it in as a text file somewhere. But... possibly it was just forgotten at that point.

To the extent that you wish to tear your hair out about what might/should have been, it's worth mentioning that the story draft where Oriana takes over Sanctuary is also, I believe, the one that has a *Miranda available for endgame* note immediately following that Image IPB

Always thought that it meant you'd see her in action... though they did have that thought going when they recorded these:
Zaeed
Jack
Jacob
Grunt

Wasn't expecting a holo vid goodbye and +25 points to the WA thing

War Assets: "making your decisions matter" by assigning a random numerical value to a bunch of text boxes.

As for the holovid goodbye, it's one of the problems I have with the Earth mission. There's nothing satisfying about it, we don't see any of our War Assets actually do anything, its just shooting husks until you get to the "nothing important happens here" area that is the FOB. It seems like they just tacked on the goodbye scene because someone pointed it out at the last minute.

Oh right, I had completely forgotten about that.
Nothing to do but keep hoping the EC adds something.

Yeah, in order to see what kind of endings you can get heh

Yeah, there was a lot of potential for great entrances (one of which I'm working on) for each squadmate...one last time.  I mean they were a part of our journey right?  They deserve more than a holo vid IMO.

I'd make the FOB a lot bigger and have everyone that mattered there meaning what we got now but with the ME2 squad + some notable characters (like Shiala)
It's the last time we'll get to see them right? Let's give them the sendout they all deserve.
