I commented on the linked thread. Great work. If future chapters go on like this and what I've seen from the preview pictures, this could become required reading for everyone, not just Miranda fans.

I do like the concept a lot, and the atmosphere of the first preview. I will try to leave some more comments soon on that thread.

Hey flemm, did you re-upload my old screenshot or did you retouch the red eye on your own?

I guess it must be yours. Tbh, I don't really remember. Still perhaps my favorite Miranda screenshot, in any case.

I posted the links in the group yesterday! =) Didn't want to overrun the thread with all of it, hehe!

Here's a question if Miranda was to become a squadmate at some point in ME3 what abilities would you like her to have?

I'd go and replace Slam with Tactical Scan it fits in with her old Cerberus Leader/Tactician passive buff without overpowering her.

Hmm, haven't unlocked Quarian (the only one I don't have) in the new DLC so can't say for sure.  That power seems good on paper though.

it doesn't appear to be that good on gold, but does highlight enemies for non-geth (and geth vision makes my eyes hurt).

Really sorry if I pissed anyone off. My view on this was, that this project was kinda dead: none of the writers seemed to be active for at least a month and I saw Ali working alone more or less. After the critics about the dialogue, he asked for my help and we started something new.
I never got the impression of cutting someone else off.

You are not to blame. The project was far from dead though I grant visible activity was at a minumum. I wrote an entire third of the story and Rachel was hard at work sketching the characters. She, my friend Oren and I were meeting privately over skype to plan it out with the understanding that the entire first act would be available for the fanbook. I expect we are to be blamed for having lives and responsibities outside the Miranda fandom and thus could not move as fast as Ali liked.

Whatever. I wash my hands of this mess.

The Area Tactical Scan evolution for that power is what makes it useful. Being able to give everyone on your team within 20 meters a damage bonus to a target is handy for taking out Atlas Mechs, Banshees, Phantoms, etc.

Lash with Miranda's Overload/Warp combo could be nice. Then she'd have a way to deal with shields, armor, and enemies in cover. I could also picture a few jokes being made about Miranda having access to a biotic whip:

Vega: I didn't think you were in to that sort of thing Loco.

Shepard: What thing?

Vega: Well y'know, Frosty dresses up in that jumpsuit and she has that whip thing...

Shepard: You do know she'll kill you if she hears you right?

Pretty soon I'll be starting my final Shepard. When I go to do the import to ME2 run, I'm planning on killing off the Rachni Queen and thinking of killing Wrex on Virmire (and destroying the Genophage cure in ME2). I'm also considering "hanging the Council out to dry" during the Battle of the Citadel under the premise that we'd need all available ships to destroy Soverign. Would killing off the Council lower my WA count in ME3, or would it ultimately balance out? This isn't something I've done before (Wrex or the Council).

If you do everything else right, leaving the Council to die loses you 33 points of war assets. Killing Wrex loses you 80, killing the Rachni queen 100, and destroying the genophage cure 50 from the maximum achieveable of 7523.

Rachni Queen loses you 100? I thought that was off-set somewhat by increasing the value of Aralakh Company. Maybe it's not worth doing all that.

Ah yes. You lose 75. 25 offset by the increased strength of Aralakh company. Wreav instead of Wrex loses you 5 points, but you also lose the "Krogan Mercenaries" for 75. I think it was 75, I'm quoting this from memory.

Yeah, it's 75 you lose. Though, once I get a decent headset for my 360, I might do MP quite a bit, so that wouldn't be much of an issue.

They do an amazing work.
The VA is good, but Yvonne's voice is clearly not replaceable.

I just finished watching the season finale of Nikita (I highly recommend it - Jason Bourne except with 2 BA females trying to bring down a Cerberus ish organization), and I was sitting there the whole time thinking THIS IS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WITH MIRANDA. Sigh. Darn you, Mass Effect, for creeping into my every day life.

Could I cajole someone(s) to do a quick check on my Miranda characterization? I’m bringing her role up from what I originally planned, and would like to know if there’s anything that sticks out or some aspect you think could/should be brought forward…There’s not much content yet, but I’d rather correct course early than late. Comments either publicly or in PMs either here or FFN work, and are much appreciated.

She first features in the end of chapter 10, then 11, 14, 16 and 17. Just Ctrl-F miranda or lawson :P

Imagination is good . But he doesn't really draw them, he takes the positions from the game and uses photoshop to make them appear as drawn. I think it's a perfect tecnique. It feels drawn and the characters look just like in the game.

I can't fault the writing, and I'm not sure of the bigger picture, but in chapter 11, Miranda seems more readily 'sociable' than I imagined. It doesn't seem out of character at all, she just seems a slight bit more open and comforting than I'm used to seeing. That could be down to different circumstances though.

And I'm not sure she'd be so dismissive about her past or at least, though she's confident, she wouldn't be so blunt and forthright in expressing it.

I'd not really thought about Miranda getting drunk but it's an interesting thing to witness! :P

TO ALL: Postcard Project!

Yesika wanted to do a Postcard thing for Miranda (it's actually something suggested in the HTL forums)
The way it would work is there would be 5 postcards created with backgrounds of Real life places/monuments/etc.
We would add Miranda in different poses and such to make it look like she's visited those areas (and some text from her).

Examples from the other fanbases: Kaidan, Thane, Liara, Garrus, Tali

I've volunteered to lead this project and we've discussed the locations.  Here's what we got:

Monaco (with Miranda in a formula 1 jumpsuit)  --Mr Massaka will do this if this if everyone is OK with the local.
Australia, Sydney (opera view)
Greece
Tokyo
NYC (not sure where exactly but at night is preferable)
Paris
London

I'm posting this here and the #FindMiranda group to get a sense from everyone (Officers and members) what they think of the locations (good? bad? perhaps suggest a new local?)
We still need to pin down exactly where in some of those locals we'd put her and also decide which to be cut since we only need 5 postcards

EDIT: We'd like to have at least one postcard done by Sunday!

I'd love for Miranda to be in NYC, not just New York is my home state, haha. But I think she would fit well in Times Square, or the Statue of Liberty (I prefer Times Square though)
Paris is a no brainer- Eiffel of Tower at night.
Greece- In front of one of the Parthenon.

Excellent, that’s the kind of stuff I want to hear about…my personal slightly right of canon version of ME3 does involve a little more direct contact with Miranda, so she’s a bit more integrated in the group. Still, will keep in mind.

And I'm not sure she'd be so dismissive about her past or at least, though she's confident, she wouldn't be so blunt and forthright in expressing it.

Also a good point, thank you. It reads a bit…superfluous, maybe?

Thanks for taking the time :)

Happy to return the favour. Good luck with the story.

I don't think it's superfluous but maybe she'd just brush over it as "I'm Miranda Lawson…Yes, that Lawson, but I'd rather not go into it" or "It's a long story..."
