The VA is not the cause of Miranda's poor treatment in ME3, so stop saying bull****s.

Technically, it could be related.  So, that might be an issue for future content or even her current role (look at Mordin's new VA, he got a new one and huge role, what if his current one was there and he got a smaller role, who knows with Bioware), but I highly doubt it.

Which version of Nikita is that? I watched a few episodes almost ten years ago, is this a new one?

You referring to La Femme Nikita, but the CW did a reboot that just finished its second season. I almost didn't watch it because it was the CW, but I am SO glad I gave it a chance. It really isn't a typical CW show at all, and for that I'm grateful. But without spoiling anything, I was very, very satisfied with the season finale - it was very appropriate for the character Nikita, and I wish that Bioware had given us something similar for Miranda. Oh well.

Mordin has a more important role, but Miranda has more lines in the game, so no it's not related.
And if there was a problem of money, I think it would be clever to ask Bioware to stop spending money with useless features rather than asking to replace the VA (something that also define the character).

One great thing I love about Miranda (and most other characters in ME as well) is that even though it looks and sounds like Yvonne, I never once thought about the connection between the two in game, unless I forced myself to think about it. I see Miranda as a completely separate person and Yvonne's acting in particular stood out to me much more than anyone else. Yvonne did the same in Chuck. I tell you she is going to be huge one day.

Yeah, I think so. I never really liked Chuck, just not my thing overall, but she makes it worth watching. What's unusual, I think, about Strahovski, or one unusual thing anyway, is that she's incredibly good-looking, tall and athletic, yet extremely easy to relate to and emphasize with. There's a reason why supermodels and movie stars don't really overlap most of the time. But Strahovski can be a cover model and an ordinary girl really easily.

There aren't very many celebrities I can say this about, but I hold a certain genuine respect for Yvonne.

I don't loathe every fiber of her person, like I do most famous people. I actually kind of like her.

Miranda has more lines than Mordin?

Though, I still believe the two could of been issues towards planning out their execution in the final game.

I agree with you. I read celebrity gossip multiple times a day (I need to go to rehab for that):? and honestly, the longer I've followed pop culture/celebrity gossip/hollywood/actors' careers, I've found that the awesome people are usually the ones who weren't thrust into the industry at a young age. I have a long list of famous people that I dislike, but the list that I genuinely think are awesome is very slim. But Yvonne is on the good list :wizard: Not only is she gorgeous and a phenomenal actress, but she comes across well in interviews. I love that she's grounded. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders.

Which is the part that truly astonishes me. I haven't seen any other celebrity go 3 for 3.

Oh, and it was me you quoted, not flemm.

During a single playthrough no, in the whole game yes (she has more dialogue variants)

I'm of a mind to post a screenshot...

Hmm....the time when the AAP2 armor was new. I'm getting nostalgic when I think of it. Debate, appreciation, hope for ME3....

...and then it all ends like this

At least Miranda's alive and on Earth. Cold comfort, but even so.

dtrain - Big Ben is the great bell in the tower to the side of the Houses of Parliament - although everyone thinks of the tower as Big Ben, it's actually called the Clock Tower. Still, either Scotland Yard or the Houses of Parliament would be good.:bandit:
(Not that I live in London or anything... )

Speaking of the AAP2 armor it'd be nice to get Miranda a suit of Project Phoenix armor like the ex-Cerberus classes have.

I'll have to disagree with you. Yvonne does a fantastic job with miranda and is part of her character. Taking that away would be like taking away a chunk of her personality. For me there is no miranda without the voice of Yvonne.

Celebrity VA typically don't get replaced unless there is a huge conflict.

No offense to Michael Beattie but he doesn't exactly have the same credentials and marketability that Martin Sheen or Yvonne Strahovski have. In the end, recasting a celebrity VO makes your product worth less and loses it's ability to market the whole "celebrity acting" aspect that so many games are going for these days.

Gonna add to the Yvonne lovefest.

It seems there are a lot of great Australian actors in Hollywood because they take their craft very seriously and seem like genuinely nice people. Yvonne doesn't seem like the type to seek out stardom and is more focused on being professional. And as silly as Chuck is, it did allow her to demonstrate a brilliant range as time went on.

I'm all for any competent VA as long as we can get content that turns Miranda back into a character I don't want to kill on principle. Hale using her Bastila voice would make me very happy though.

And I'm apparently the only person who dislikes Strahovski as an actress. Miranda is the only time I've liked her.

I don't like Strahovski's other roles so far. The ones I know of anyway. Apart from that, her profile as an actress isn't developed enough to make any general statement on the matter.

As for the VA question, the Marauder Shields audio book has shown me that if we get Miranda back, I could live with a replacement rather well, even though it will be a little jarring at first.

Liked Yvonne on chuck even if i disliked some of the later writing of her character. She does an amazing job as Miranda and i wouldn't want her replaced. Don't think her being voice actress is to blame for problems with miranda's content. Obviously she seems a very driven actress which is no bad thing as that's what it takes to be successful. I'm certainly interested to see how her career develops.

That audiobook is awesome. I want that Miranda. I also wouldn't turn Adam down. But the biggest issue is always that someone saw fit to turn a driven, professional badass into Bella Swan. It doesn't matter who the VA is unless they fix that.

I think it's important to note that Miranda Lawson's is not her natural Australian accent either. It is a 'neutral' version of the accent that she brought to the role. Just to show a bit more support. :P

Hahaha, that's so true. Honestly I don't know why Bella is such a role model, for me she represents everything a girl shouldn't be.

The devs know we are unhappy with the direction they took with Miranda. They already know what to and how to fix, now it's up to them. But they hate Miranda so they'll spend the money of DLC for more Liara and dextro team content. Yvonne actually did a terrific job with the break-up and death scene, too bad if Miranda survives she didn't have content to shine.

Well in her defense, she's still trying to get herself noticed and get her name out there, which means taking some jobs that don't seem so savory (This new Frankenstein movie sounds like it's gonna bomb hard). I think she was bad in 'The Canyon' (Also because it was B-movie survival-thriller) and there are a lot of times in Chuck that are just downright stupid .  But then again she still doesn't have the credentials to really get into roles where she can shine. Even in its heyday, Chuck was a struggling show, so it's not surprising she doesn't have a lot of clout in the business.

I agree, I find the problem to be the way they decided to write her.  She's too much a "safe character".
And remember, they only gave 3 months of thought to figuring out what to do with all the ME2 characters in ME3.

Also to note: Jack had less time on screen but what was there was pretty damn good.  Way better than what Miranda got IMO.  Why?
Because John Dombrow and Patrick Weekes were part of writing her mission and character.  Of course it would have been nice to have a proper romance scene but I'm just pointing out what's there.

For Miranda we have more screentime but she was written by (mostly) Jay Watamaniuk with Mac Walters doing some dialog (romance?)

Not trying to knock on these people but you can see the difference.
