"I missed you."
When they first met on the Citadel. You know, for being her boyfriend, so to speak, he never really sounded happy to see her, at least not as happy as he should have been.

I've always noticed her interest in him, from the second she and him officially met. It never suprised me how she felt about him, that she fell in love with him. It just surprised me that she was the first one to openly admit it.

Once again, spot on.
I mean, Miranda did most of the work there. At least we got the line our thread is named after from Shepard in that scene, but still.
At first, in ME2, she did seem a bit jealous.  Her "I'm not looking for a friend, Shepard" tends to point in a different direction.
I think she started falling for him during her loyalty mission. If not that, then the conversation immediately after.

No, I mean my first reaction to the engine room scene was laughter. NE3 was an improvement in my eyes.

Ah, I see. I admit, I was a bit confused by the location, but I got use to it. I do understand why she didn't want to "settle for the captains quarters", too normal I guess. It's more of an expected location. I like that she can turn from all business to spontaneous. To me, it definately adds to her character.

Did we play the same game? Shepard is a prince. "I'll always want you in my life" anyone? I was expecting him to drop to one knee then and there.

I mentioned that in my post. But Miranda was saying stuff like "Its so good to finally see you", "It was hard to be away from you. Surprised myself how attatched I got", "I almost thought to break in to see you, but I had to do what was best for both of us."

I mean don't get me wrong, I LOVE the "I'll always want you in my life" line.

Edit- I need to share this with you guys:

Man, I am on a roll! :P

And despite what was actually shown during their first conversation in ME2, I could totally imagine her looking down and away from him with a slight smirk on her face. I just have this feeling that no one every really tries to get to know her, and when he did...well. Not likely romantic feelings that early, but definately slight admiration toward him. But again this is just more girlish imposition and head-canon.

Well, part of that is they have to account for players who are planning to move on and so forth. I'd date ME3 Shep. I wouldn't touch the ME2 version with a barge pole.

I believe that sums up a lot there.
And I'm sure Miranda was always impressed with Shepard. She combed through his background and history during the Project. I'm sure she admired his skill as a leader and soldier.

I would probably avoid ME1 Shepard, want to be friends with him in ME2, and I'd definately date him in ME3. He definately eased and opened up more as the series went on.

It felt like by ME3 he became more of himself rather than just a soldier as he was in the first games.

I'd distinguish admiration as a leader and a soldier, as opposed to admiration as person. More of a character admiration over just what was written in files.

As I said, I'm sure she admired his many feats. Who wouldn't be impressed by Shepard blowing Saren into dust? (quite literally)
Also, his escape from the Citadel. I bet thats what Miranda meant when she said "I recall a Spectre who crossed a few lines fighting Saren and the geth."

Looking back, ME1 Shepard's a pretty quiet guy. He really only ever speaks when it's important.

ME2 Shepard is subject to some really questionable writing and voice acting. Renegade Shepard is psychotic while Paragon Shepard is a rapid-fire plattitude machine:

Shepard: You know Miranda, your enhancements aren't the only thing that defines you.

Miranda: I'm very busy right now Shepard. We can talk later.

Shepard: You're father gave you gifts but you can take pride in what you've accomplished with them.

Miranda(sighs) Shepard, if I tell you I'm happy will you leave?

Shepard: Yep.

It's about damn time. You go Shepard!

What exactly is so hard about showing them kiss in game? The camera always pans away or shows the back of their heads...or spends the entire time zoomed on her ass.

agreed.

Maybe she wasn't planning on fighting him? Leng was just there to extract the data right? Maybe Miranda planned on staying out of his way and just planting the tracer on his ship.

You would think that a so-called professional assassin like Leng would check for tracers onboard his ship before he left. Also how did Miranda manage to get away from Leng?

Shepard: You took on Kai Leng in a fight and survived. Not many people could do that.

Miranda: I didn't have to fight him. I used a distraction.

Shepard: Leng has a one-track mind how did you distract him?

Miranda: I have my ways.

Earlier

Leng: ...and now Miss lawson you di- is that a box of cereal?

Miranda: Yes, it even has a prize inside. Do you want it?

Leng: Of course I do!

Miranda: (tosses cereal box down the hall) Go get it!

(Leng runs after the box)

I'd like to think it lead to this scene from Sienfeld (at the end)

I think he was that excited

MisterJB will know what brought this on:

Miranda's enhancements are good things. I don't like the method of her creation, but that she is physically and mentally superior to baseline humans is a cause for happiness.

Everyone of us on that other thread will know why I feel the need to post my agreement with this.

BTW, it seems odd - comparably more Miranda fans appear to be attracted to non-Destroy endings.

Now add "Oh....I'm definitely interested" to that picture. Good I don't play Sheploo.

Note: I like Shepard in the scene that leads to the kiss. But ME2 Shepard in general is not impressive.

Very nice. I recall an earlier version of this from almost two years ago (I think we had it in one of the OPs), but this one is much improved. She really looks like Miranda.

Odd how?
I'm not disagreeing at all. I think, given Miranda's nature, you could actually make a case for all three, really.

Guys, also...if Miranda is supposed to be staying out of sight, why does she not make use of a cloak? I need a good reason. :P

That's why you play as a Paragade. Mix things up a bit.

Shepard: I was trying to get to know you as a person.

Miranda: I'm not looking for a friend, Shepard. Stay focused on the mission.

Shepard: Are you naturally this ****y? Or is it just me?

You mean a cloaking device, right? Because an actual cloak would be rather conspicuous. Well, invisibility is well and good, but in populated areas it's rather inconvenient to use.

As for Miranda fans and the endings, I agree, it's just that the picture appears to be rather less one-sided than in the ME fanbase in general.

The engine room scene in ME2, in my headcanon, happened because Miranda suspected TIM had the whoe ship bugged and didn't want him to believe that she had been compromised and have Miranda kicked out of the mission as a consequence.

In ME3 Shepard is a jerk. Never says he misses her, sees Miranda after six months and doesn't even smile at her, not to mention gets a lot more worried about Ashley in Mars than he ever was for Miranda when he saw Leng attacking her. The "I'll always want you in my life" and "I found you" was cute and all but I always believed actions speak louder than words and his actions say he doesn't care all that much about her.

He should receive worst boyfriend award, I hope the EC and future DLC about her (I can dream) change Shepard's behaviour towards her for the better.

Haha. Yeah, a cloak as in a cloaking device and not the fashion item. Although... :P

Without wanting to give details away I was thinking more, say, her being in the relative openness of somewhere like Therum and why she would have neglected to get some sort of cloaking device just in case. Right now, I'm going with 'prohibitively expensive'.

Of course, this is the part where you tell me "But Therum was hit by the Reapers right near the beginning of Mass Effect 3"...

Oh, and the Miranda/endings thing is clearly because Miranda fans are smarter and more sophisticated than most, so able to be more open-minded :P

You just mentioned one of the biggest problems I have with ME3: You can't decide how much Shepard cares about certain things.
Now in Just because I romanced Ashley in ME1 doesn't mean he always has to ask about her status after Mars. Meanwhile I am the whole time wondering why he doesn't seem to care about his ME2-squad at all. It's not even a single question of what happened to them. And when he finally meets his romance (after the "I'll always want you in my life" pretty serious relationship) he isn't even able to say "I missed you" once.
What I even found worse: He is able to say all these serious things to Ashley...

Err....what? What game have you been playing? It's certainly not the Mass Effect 3 I have on my PC. ME3 Shepard is fine in the Miranda romance, from the start to the end, actually. What kind of action are you missing?
