Can anyone explain the Chromosome thing Regarding Miri? The Y Chromosome? I really hated looking through that thread claiming that she is a man. It got me in a state of Confusion and Panic.

He created a X2 chromosome from desirible sources, then with some space magic he formed this chromosome: X1 X2.

What Miranda says is that her father's Y chromosome was altered with DNA from various sources, including a variety of desirable traits. She has her father's X chromosome and another X chromosome that was artificially constructed and enhanced.

So she is a woman engineered using mostly her father's DNA (as she also states).

I can explain it, but I cannot make you comfortable with Miranda's unconventional origins.

I think this is meant to explain how a child with no mother, using the genetic material of the father only as base, could be a girl. Nice, but almost irrelevant in view of the complexity of the other changes that had to be made to create Miranda's genome.

And of course there would still have been an egg whose nucleus would've been exchanged but whose mitochondrial DNA would be the donor's. Which means that Miranda had something like a biological mother. Unless Henry Lawson created the egg from scratch.  
 
BTW, the process isn't all that mysterious. We could probably do it today - if we knew what all of the the genes on the Y and X chromosomes did.

Yeah, I'm sure that's true.

They did claim technical difficulties on that. Could be it was too much trouble to get it into the core game. But I have a hard time imagining it's unfixable. I mean... maybe? But... I really can't imagine why. It would just depend on what romance is active, and it already switches between three characters.

If they can fix the face import bug, they can fix this. If they don't fix the flashback there'll be no excuse for it. But I think they will.

It doesn't matter so much for my games since I can fix it for myself, replacing Liara's or Anderson's video with Miranda's, but I would still be annoying for the disrespect shown all other LIs who aren't Liara or Ashley/Kaidan. I'm also annoyed at the elevation of Anderson and Joker to the canonically most important people in Shepard's life.

Damn, missed page 2150... What a boost of replies throughout the night!

About the flashback: It's complete non-sense to say that it's not fixable. It may have been because of time-constraints during the game's development (only know that too good myself), but now after ~3 months it's just ridiculous. It's a simple video-file playing to one of the flags, shouldn't be that hard to do actually...

Well, since we don't actually have a date for Miranda's birthday, I'm dubbing June 19th her birthday. Since that is the day (at least where I am) we reached her year in pages. Feel free to disagree, just thought it would be a cool idea.

I can see Anderson and Joker being in the flashbacks; Regardless of how my Shepard feels about the alliance, and despite the personal betrayal of having alliance operatives spy on Shepard in  ME2, Anderson was always a kind of moral compass, a father figure to Shepard (an Earthborn) and a mentor who had to deal with a lot of crap like Shepard does. And Joker is like Garrus, he's been there since the beginning and they have an interesting dynamic, even though they don't always see eye-to-eye (Shepard snaps at Joker - a lot. But they always get back to being bro's later.)

Yeah, but it's not surprising when you consider that most of these hashtag things are based over there, or were originally (starting with #FindMiranda), and that people from HTL have no doubt tweeted her before with those hashtags.

Well it makes me wonder if that's the reason Bioware hasn't acknowledged our posters yet.  Though they did acknowledge a project to send like 100 paper cranes or something (saw and posted Chris Priestly's tweet about it in the twitter thread before)
