Destroy is the absolute rejection of everything the Reapers and Catalyst stand for F*ck their cycles and their singularity. We'll make our own choices. But to truly reject the Reapers, you have to reject everything they offer. It's a very Romantic ending.
Synthesis is the "brave new world." Former things have passed away, replace by something new and strange.

Yes, I agree.
I'd be careful how you use that phrase though. Tossing that around will make people angry.
Making any connection to Huxley's novel isn't good.
Use Ieldra's term.

President Huerta suffered from a stroke that left him brain-dead. The official story was that he had made a full recovery when in fact he had been implanted with a sophisticated VI system that handled his brain functions along with a backup copy of his memories. He ends up being thrown out of office for being partially synthetic after a trial by the Systems Alliance. Of course this is all from the Cerberus Daily News, the games don't discuss this at all outside of Shepard's "Maybe I'm just an advanced VI that thinks it's Commander Shepard" line on Cronos.
What's strange is that the tech used to bring Huerta back sounds like a more primitive version of the Lazarus Procedure. It would have been interesting for there to be a video log on Cronos that showed the operation performed on Huerta as a prototype version of the process that brought Shepard back.

"I look to liking if looking liking do."
As for load outs, it's entirely possible they have something planned for them. Who knows.

........ that's a nice way of explaining the endings. But i must say that reading the 3rd novel really didn't make me like the Synthesis ending. But that's just me, don't wanna start a fight or anything, heh!

I like those ideas. I want the endings to be more different with regard to the shape the rebuilt galactic civilization is going to take, and this is one way to do it. Hmm.....feels familiar, too.....yep, this kind of "mind travel" is used in the Takeshi Kovac novels by Richard K Morgan.Dr. Doctor wrote...

I actually agree that it's in the spirit of both Destroy and Synthesis to destroy the relays. But we need to see a hopeful vision of rebuilding with non-relay tech. Maybe with upgrading conventional FTL in Destroy and finding something new and exotic in Synthesis.
I always wondered what happend to the Conduit from ME1. If the blueprints still existed you could build a network of smaller terrestrial Mass Relays that would allow for Stargate-style interstellar travel. Once the design is figured out you could send the schematics for how to build the device to other world via unmanned probe.
As for Synthesis, I'm kind of working with the idea that Eden is a construct similar to the Geth Consensus. Organics gain the Geth's abillity to communicate between one another without regard for distance. Shepard isn't dead, his consiousness exists within Eden, he's just missing a physical body. This concept is similar to the race of virtual aliens from Bioware's Cerberus Daily News series. Going off of this theory, interstellar travel for individuals might not require Mass Relays to function. A person's consiousness could be transfered to a mobile platform on another world using quantum entanglement tech.
How would Miranda be different if her genes and her appearance weren't an integral part of her anymore....

ai, sorry Babi, totally skipped this from my phone! T_T

If by upload, it would be interesting.
Any addition or subtraction to the DNA coding makes a new form.
If Synthesis actually does mix DNA

Ridiculous. I reject this in its entirety. Was defeating the N*zis in WW2 an "absolute rejection", a **** you to everything they stood for? Clearly. Did we then throw out all their tech and research? Please.jtav wrote...

Yeah I went there. The very idea is bull**** and insulting to not just my intelligence but intelligence in general.
You want real choice? I reject the Reapers and take all their stuff for myself. I defeated them, to me go the spoils of war. Double middle fingers now. Oh and one of these too:

Exactly. The relays must to make way for the new and exotic things that are to come. The relays represent the status quo. But the ending must show that new something or it will be all too depressing.jtav wrote...

@Taboo:
The phrase "brave new world" is originally from Shakespeare's "The Tempest", spoken by Miranda

I know. The phrase I mentioned above was from Shakespeare too. From Romeo and Juliet. That isn't the issue. The issue is that the phrase "brave new world" is associated with utopian nomenclature.
If you keep using that phrase people are going to give you a hard time. I'm trying to help you here.

Agree completely with you Crutch. Relay destruction is just tagged onto endings so they could get to their BS galactic dark age symbolism. Really using the relays as a weapon, a galactic seed spreader or an unpload device should not necessarily cause them to blow up imo.
@Jtav. Interestig news if true that ex squaddies had loadout screens in game files. Wonder if that means that the initial thoughts that they would get LOTSB style involvement in their missions might have once been in the plan before time/budget caused them to be axed

Back when she was under her father's rule, we know he didn't allow her much of a social life. I imagine most of her time was spent in studies, striving to be perfect. But when she did have a reprieve what hobbies/ secret pleasures do you think she had?

Reminds me of the episode of Angel where the father tries to keep his daughter a virgin so he can sacrifice her to a demon. Didn't work then wouldn't work with Miranda imo, obviously dependent on what age she was when she fled.

Well, you can't go wrong with the SM as a choice. But for me two of the most memorable moments are meeting Miranda and Mordin. Miranda's intro is awesome, and I love Mordin's explanation of why it makes sense that he is a doctor and a badass.
Missions: Suicide Mission and the final battle on Earth (up until the beam up to the Citadel- after that I try and forget what happened)
