It would've been a great time for her to elaborate on how project lazarus worked, something that has so far never been fully explained. She could've talked about the technology and so forth. But nope...never happened.

Yes, could we please NOT skip over the greatest feat of medical science in recorded history with the potential to fundamentally change society and the way we view life as if Miranda just put a band aid on Shepard?

No that's different, need Mordin to synthesis cure disperse it via STG computers at Shroud...can't see Wrex doing that.  He's no scientist.

That's more of a detail, though. I mean: different things happen in those stories depending on who is there and who isn't.

The genophage arc is particularly layered and no doubt takes up a lot of space on the disk. Mordin can be there, or his replacement. Wrex can be there, or Wreav (meaning there are several possible combinations).

With EDI and Miranda, it could easily be: with EDI alone, Cerberus is destroyed. With EDI and Miranda, some part of Cerberus is salvaged and repurposed to fight the Reapers (additional war assets).

Conceptually, it fits. In practice, I imagine they probably either couldn't do it, given the disk resources they had left, or didn't want to do it because they felt it was too big a shift in story logic at that point. Or both.

The fact that she is focused on Ori is not in any way shape or form a problem. It's her aloofness when talking with Shep, with whom I might add she is supposedly in love. They could have easily solved this problem by introducing Miri as a temporary squad member joining Shep to take down TIM's main base and then accompanying him to earth. I think the last mission should have been fought out with your LI and one squad mate of choice. It just makes more narrative sense than having her a hundred miles away communicating by holocall. It's just too forced to have a last conversation that way.

Where is she during that Holovid Call?

Oh ****. Don't tell me she's still at Sanctuary with Ori during the ending?! ...They're going to starve...

During the vid-call, it sounds like she's there somewhere. She says "I hope you don't mind my crashing this little party of yours" (or something like that), which to me indicates she's somewhere on or near Earth.

Or crashing the party meant the run in at Sanctuary....Or just simply the call itself....There are a few ways to interpret that...

Well, she's a war asset (ex-Cerberus), and she also says "The Alliance was surprised when I offered to help." So, she seems to be part of the battle.

Did everyone forget EDI?  If you have her there, then why would you need Miranda?

Miranda should provide an option there that you don't have otherwise, basically. It's not too different from how the Genophage or Rannoch arcs work, i.e. different outcomes are possible.

So, it's like asking: if you have Wrex, why do you need Mordin?

A better exapmle would be: Why do you need Tali at the Geth Dreadnoguht when you can have Xen there?

But there's also the email that suggests she isn't. I think the original idea was that she was still recovering, but they changed it.

Guess we'll find out for sure in the EC. Maybe Posted Image

Plus, you get that message (on Liara's computer) about her getting access to those class-F fighters (which you only receive post-Sanctuary and which I assume are the resources that you give her access to). I'm guessing she's either part of Sword or more likely (considering she's standing during the vid-call) she's part of Hammer but is not close enough to fight alongside you.

What happens when the damage control (the mail in this case) doesn't make much sense?

The thing with EDI is that while she's a Cerberus construct she doesn't have much of a relationship with the organization. TIM's whole "EDI I'm surprised at you" conversation with her really didn't have much of an impact for me.
The way Cronos is currently set up would work perfectly for a situation where Miranda wasn't alive.

On a more cheerful note Aimo drew a picture of Miranda:

Okay so I want to load my ME3 game at the latest possible point in order to complete the EC. What point do I load it from?

Familiarity. More folks are familiar with Tali than Xen. Besides, she becomes a squadmate later too.

For EDI/Miranda, people know EDI more since they played ME2 and in ME3 she's a squadmate.

From the FAQ:

What save game should I load to play the Extended Cut?
  • [SPOILERS] To experience the Extended Cut, load a save game from
before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through to the end of
the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices
made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a
variety of different decisions will be required to experience the
variety of possibilities offered by the new content.

Okay, thanks guys to whoever answered my question (Skullheart and ripslip)
Damn, and I repeated Cronos few weeks ago because I thought the EC would only go with Earth. Oh well, I don't mind replaying it.

After you beat the game, it takes you back to the save right before the assault on the Cerberus Base. So if you've beaten it, you shouldn't have to manually load an earlier save. I could be wrong, though.

Yeah I know, except I re-beat Cronos because I thought the EC would take place on Earth. So yeah I'll just re-load, I have a save ready right before, I'm pretty sure.

And those parts have a proper arc to them.  Not so with Cerberus.  Perhaps they didn't want to do another of those things?  Not a good choice IMO, but it could also be a rushed thing.

I did talk to one of the devs who said at one point that [she/he] wasn't sure the game would fit on 2 disks this time.
