I can see that point, but ME3 wasn't exactly full of comfortable choices before the ending either.

Yes, it was. Following the principle "Follow your heart and everything will be fine" never backfired in a major way throughout the whole trilogy, except for the final choice. Examples: Curing the genophage loses you 70 (!) TMS if Thane lives, destroying the CB loses you 10 TMS, Saving the Council in ME1 gains you 33 TMS.

Now comes the final choice, and suddenly things are different.

There's a difference between uncomfortable and backfiring though. ME3 has its share of 'victory through sacrifice' moments where even paragon/renegade persuade will result in death, and everything is not fine.

And I'm stuck playing ME1 because I have OCD when it comes to Matt. Hopefully, it'll be worth it. At least I get to do the romance again.

Well, it depends what you mean by "comfortable choice," I guess. For example, Mordin's death is supposed to be a happy ending for him, despite also being emotional. Do most players experience it that way? I think so.

The only thing with the whole TMS rating is that you can easily avoid any adverse effects from your decisions by playing Multiplayer. Hopefully the EC shows what exactly happens if youd lie to Wreve about curing the Genophage, or what happens with the Quarians or the Geth.

I just got informed that since i'm on ps3 in europe....i'll have to wait the 4th of july to play the EC. To top it, i won't be here the 4th and will have to wait until 15th. Damn i wanted to stay in the loop during either Biowars redemption or their fall. I guess i'll also have to avoid this thread and the bsn for 3 weeks to avoid spoilers. Oh well...

I don't have a problem with Mordin's death, but I think people would tend to favour something like a loyal Grunt's ending or uniting the Geth and Quarians without Legion dying. Of course, those aren't as interesting dramatically.

My point being that it's not as if the concept of 'everything being fine' was present during the rest of the game. I agree that the ending dealt with harder sci-fi concepts, but what made them uncomfortable was the sheer isolated and abstract nature of it.

So is what I've heard true? Cronos isn't part of the EC? Should I re-load my game to before Cronos for the EC? Because right now, I have my game set to right before Earth. I don't want to miss anything but I don't want to re-play Cronos AGAIN if I can help it.

Oh, I think you definitely have a point there.

I guess what I was trying to get at is not so much that, in the space opera, everything must be fine. There can be death, sadness, loss, etc.

It's more that events are governed by a certain type of ultimately very conservative mentality/morality. There is good and evil. If there has been sin, it must be attoned for. That type of thing.

It's relevant to Miranda, because ultimately that type of thinking is anathema to characters like her.

Most of the game is basically like that. But the endings... not so much. There really isn't any clear "best" or preferable choice from a moralistic point of view.

Thats what their FAQ says to do...

What save game should I load to play the Extended Cut?
[SPOILERS] To experience the Extended Cut, load a save game from before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through to the end of the game. The Extended Cut endings will differ depending on choices made throughout the Mass Effect series, so multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content.

Is it just for the European PS3 users or for all of the European players? Guess I'll just Youtube the EC when it's out then.

Thanks for the pic. Yeah I bet you saw horrors, to remain polite, I'd say some people have a twisted artistic vision.

All the new content is after the run to the beam, but your EMS is locked in at Cronos. Hence starting from there.

Anyway great pic! And is it just me or the one you posted a few pages back has a different perspective from the in-game one?

It would be cool if they at least added some new references to Miranda in the Cronos video logs. Like one of those random scientists saying something about her if we can't have her directly.

....and Jessica Merizan tweeted that all the new content was after the long walk in Priority:Earth. I think they're just using pre-Cronos Station as the starting point because that's the standard DLC starting point and the point where EMS is locked. It's possible you only get the changed requirement for high-EMS Destroy if you start from there, but I don't think there will be new content at Cronos Station.

Edit:
ninja'd. As usual jtav says in two lines what I say in five.

What if I do not want to reload the save before the Cerberus Base to see The Extended Cut, am I able to Star NG + with My Main/Personal/Number One Shepard/Story and STILL see The Extended Cut? What if I say, "Forgot restarting that Cerberus Base Mission, and seeing the Ending again! I want to start NG + and work my way up to it?"

Yeah, she also said we might miss out on a few cutscenes if we start on Earth. I won't take the risk...I'll suck it up and play Cronos.
Besides, I get to see my favorite 'cereal' killer again. Heheh Posted Image

It'd be really great. Jessica said that if we load a save from the final mission, we might miss a few things so maybe a few tweaks were made in Cronos? Who knows. I'd be really neat to see more logs, one were you directly see Miranda talking to TIM.

I just completed the Suicide Mission again. I have to say, I love the scenes where Shepard saves Miranda from falling to death after the Human Reaper. And then Miranda returns the favor by pulling him on the Normandy.
Suicide Mission is one of the best ever in Mass Effect.

I've done the Suicide Mission a few times and its always Miranda whom I save from falling and who pulls me onto the ship. Will it always be your LI if you brought them on that half of the mission or am I just having really good odds here?
