How about "Odysseus"? Known for his cunning and even defied the god Poseidon, one of the three highest in the pantheon.

Contrarely to the infertility though, I think a pregnancy shouldn't be in the game, just roleplayed.

Also, some fans don't really envision Shepard and Miranda having children from a roleplay point of view, and would prefer that it therefore be left to the player's imagination (or be optional). Different reason, but also understandable.

If the writers decide that she wants a child and can have one, pregnancy can be in the game (as long as the player also have the choice).

Good point, I have to agree. If the player has the possibility to choose, why not?;)

But "choice" and ME don't exactly go together these days, so I'd prefer the epilogue omit children because it's easier to have them than subtract them. And I really don't trust BW to let her have both a family and a professional life. Not after ME3.

Sure. Speaking personally about what I want, I would like the option to be there from a roleplay point of view.

I especially want it to be there now that the whole infertility thing was introduced (albeit in a somewhat indirect manner). It is only fair, I believe, that there be the option to address this openly in the game. And moreover, it could be handled in all kinds of interesting ways, as we have discussed.

However, I'm sensitive to the idea that it should be optional.

Ah. I like where that is going, but Odysseus was a warrior and more like Shepard than Miri. Although I like the sound, Shepard may not be around to have created the company with Miri. It should be something Miri could come up with on her own without Shepard's presenece as not everyone will have either romanced her or survived the ending of the game to be there.

yeah ..  anyway, I think we all know such epilogue will never happen, we'll be lucky if she appears in the EC.

(pessimism has returned, I know)

Simple: Shep loves Miri unconditionally. So her infertility isn't a problem. Although technically he isn't supposed to know about it considering he found out via the Shadow Broker :/

And not all couples have to have kids. I don't see my Shep ever having a family beyond Miri. They may not even get married, actually. I hadn't decided on that part yet.

I don't get why this constant need society has of having a kid on every relationship, honestly.

this. sadly it seems a constant of the romance threads. by now we should have transcended such quaint associations.

Thankfully it is unlikely the EC will change the endings enough to make that a horrible possibility.

It might have something to do with Anderson's very well written cut dialogue from the ending saying Shep could be a great father/mother.

If done right, that conversation could work like the last conversations with the companions in DAO's throne room and affect the epilogue. If Shepard shows no interest in parenthood, there is no mention of it. Simple.

Unfortunately, it appears to have been autodialogue. My main problem is *forced* parenthood.

Sure. It's a roleplaying game. So, I think it's reasonable to prefer options, just as a general rule.

In theory, yes. But Gears of Effect 3 didn't exactly give the player much choices. We all know about EA's mercenary ways, so we can expect plenty DLCs to come, let's hope Bioware does give us choices with future content.

About Miranda having a baby, that's something that should have been adressed in-game so that players could pick the dialogue options the best suited them and since the EC won't have that, it's better left out.

Was it confirmed the EC won't have new dialogue options? Just autodialogue?

I'm not sure actually, but given how fast they got it done I don't think it's likely. Probably just extended scenes to let the players know what happened to the galaxy.

Here, have a Miranda screen capture. I really do like these views with the Citadel (and the Normandy) in the background.

It's by johntesh on deviantart (I credited him the first time I posted it, but then got lazy, sorry). It's described as a screen capture. But... I guess it could be enhanced or something.

What's funny is that when it came to Kelly they weren't so lazy. Kelly canged her name and her looks. Granted, we don't know if Miranda did change her identity off-screen, but using her same, not a little bit discrete outfit surely isn't the best way to hide.

"Hey guys, let's keep Miranda in the same outfit."
"But isn't she on the run from Cerberus?"
"Who's Cerberus?"
