Not ideal, but I was surprised that the option existed. Time to reload and choose another one.

Well I chose the "tell the Starkid to go to hell" option. So the cycle continues and the game cuts to a scene of Liara's time capsule relaying the information about how to stop the Reapers. Grandpa and the Kid are replaced with a pair of aliens who are members of the civilization that defeats the Reapers.

The simple fact that that option exists the way it does pisses me off. That's essentially Bioware telling us to go f**k ourselves.

So how many people here are ok with the EC? I finally finished it (High EMS Destroy, Shepard survives) and it felt hopeful, but I'm still fuming over the Space Magic. And the clear favoritism that goes with the blue pet and Team Dextro, to the neglect of my beloved Miranda
I'm Ok with it yes. Of course there's is still this frustating favoritism present but I suppose we all have more or less lowered our expectations concerning the Mass Effect universe.

I also chose it at first by mistake. I attempted to shoot the Catalyst and he wasn't really happy about it: "So be it, the cycle continues!"

ME2 characters got screwed, again. I was expecting that at the very least we could find out what they were doing during the events of Earth, I expected BioWare to have some respect for their fans and show them fighting Reapers, but obviously nothing like that. While they didn't finish assassinating Miranda's character, her one picture epilogue wasn't enough. Not just her, but every ME2 LI should have a small cutscene mourning Shepard, that shouldn't be exclusive to the people above Normandy.
I liked that the flashback was fixed, finally. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but synthesis was the ending I felt was the most emotional, EDI narrating she was alive was simply beautiful, still not picking that option though. Destroy, the least awful ending in my opinion, felt a bit satisfactory if only for the prospect of a reunion, other than that, Hackett narrating the events was awful IMO. And control, when Shepard says he'll be watching over the people he knew was chilling.
It improved the endings a bit, but they still needed a lot of work.

I wasn't expecting the option to be there and it isn't what I'm sticking with, but it felt good to tell the Starkid to go screw himself.
Agreed, but I also really enjoyed talking to the catalyst this time! Great to hear it's perspective and reasoning and explaining the choices further along with what their kind went through (the failures)

Well, all we can do now is to push bioware to considerate a DLC focused in Cerberus and Miranda.
Well, given that the EC seems to have largely been a collaboration between Ieldra and Patrick Weekes, I think the least he can do is write a DLC for Ieldra's favorite character
I'm kidding, of course. But it does seem that Ieldra's description of what it *should* contain for clarity/world-building purposes was largely addressed.

I'm very much OK with it. Miranda being restricted to an epilogue slide may appear disappointing at first, but did anyone realize that the ME2 characters get a more meaningful presence in the epilogue than the team members? Yes, we see the team members on the Normandy, and then mourning Shepard, but the epilogue slides which show the future of civilization are dominated by the ME2 characters. Miranda in Control and Synthesis looks like she's doing something meaningful.fiendishchicken wrote...

I was going to make this point as well. The surviving ME2 characters and Wrex get *different* content in the EC, and of course, in some respects, content that is not as good. But, in other respects, it is better.

Yeah, I must admit that the EC comes pretty close to my best-case scenario. But I swear I had no contact with Patrick Weekes.

Sad that we don't see more, but whatever. I'm satisfied for the moment. How the hell do you get Jack in your ending?
And why is Kasumi's picture so god damn depressing? I knew I would regret letting her keep that thing, though its better than Synthesis where she hooks up with a hologram.

*All* of the epilogue slides please me quite a bit. Does it make up for the content in the core game being subpar? No. But, it is still good to see.
Is ME3 perfect? No, I really wish that there was more with the ME2 characters and Cerberus.
Is the ending perfect? No, I'm not the biggest fan of the whole organic/synthetic conflict that they went with. However, being able to find out more about the Catalyst, Crucible, and Reapers helped quite a bit.
