Im sure Miranda understands that Shep gave his life so that she and the rest of the galaxy could survive, even if it means he couldn't fulfill that promise.

It's placed on the wall, yes, but that's because they don't know Shepard survived. It is implied s/he did, or at least, you are given the option, as the player, to envision that.

No matter what, we leave a sad Miri behind. We break our Promises Regardless. Even in Destroy, she thinks we're dead. :crying:I mean, look at her. It appears as if she's looking up at the Sky, waiting for us, or mourning for us. What if she ends up living a Life where she believes we will come back, and what if it grows unhealthy to the point where people start to think she's crazy?:crying: I don't want Control. In Synthesis, she looks like she never had a Love, like the Romsnce never Existed. Why couldn't the scene when our names were placed on the Memorial made to Vary depending on ANY Love Interest?:crying:

It's never implied that she thinks you're dead.  Shepard's plaque never gets put up on the wall in Destroy.  You can interpret that any way you want to.

Same goes for reunions etc.  This is the good kind of speculation.  The future is what you want it to be.

Ashley just held it and smiled in my ending.

Kaidan didn't put it up on the wall in that video either.

But what is to become of Miri now? We'll never see the Reunion. And I don't want Headcannon to be the solution....

Ah ok, so that's the "Shepard survived" variant.

It may have to be the solution. I highly doubt we're getting a LI Reuinion DLC (as nice as that would be)

Not in mine. Garrus just holds it. I had 100% galactic readiness and over 8k. Wasn't going to go with my ****ty EMS 3800 points. hah! By the way, multi-player was way too fun today. :)

Your imagination could be better than anything Bioware put onscreen.

I'm not saying that I don't want to see it but at least you can imagine it.

The Picture of Miri looking up to the Sky makes me sad for some reason, no matter how many times I see that part of the Ending. Is it because it's a reminder that it's all over? it's it because I couldn't keep my promise, in a sense?

Miranda will be fine no matter the ending. She has Ori and her work and she's pretty tough. And of course she finds him. Both are on Earth. Nothing simpler. Except now you get to imagine how it goes. I actually feel like I beat the game now.

@Fanforlife

Shepard is your Shepard , the breath scene is for you to either continue or end Shepard's story. They will reunite if you want them to :)

Traynor just held the plaque up in mine. She never put it on the wall on-screen, though I'm sure she did off-screen.
But to everyone asking, what I think it symbolizes is that Shepard is not really dead, and you have a choice. Pretty clever by BW there, I must admit. The rest is up to us to headcanon regarding the breath.
For me, Shepard lives and reuinites with Miranda at long last. Miranda cures her infertility, and they get married and have children.
Yes I know I like happy endings.

If that's what you want it to think, then yes.
OR
In my case, the shot symbolizes hope and Miranda knows she may have to assist Shepard in carrying out the promise. She'll find him or he'll find her. (Probably the former)
But read my above post to see my headcanon.

Yeah, but with the way the Extended Ending is Constructed, it's difficult to Imagine on my part. Ther should've shown the Breathing Scene in the Beginning.

The Ending Slides remind me of something you would see in an Ending of a JRPG, in a sense. I mean, there are Slides and Narration. I can probably list a few JRPGs that are like that. Can you?

Your head canon is better then what Bioware can give you.

I'd imagine she'd have some words for my Shepard when they meet again.

I guess that's your choice, which I respect.
But I'd like to see her and Shepard have a child...it'd be a super baby, haha.
It would also give us a reason to laugh at the stupid Shadow Broker file on her in the first place.
But to each his/her own!

But how can I Headcannon with the Ending constructed in such a way? I hope it didn't take TOO long to fix the Citadel and the Relays. Even with Destroy, it appeared that FTL travel was still pretty fast. And Mass Effect Technology STILL Exists.

Well, after seeing all three endings I have to say that Synthesis is my personal favorite. In the updated ending the Reapers couldn't solve the fundamental differeces between organics and synthetics and instead decided that the best option was to enforce the status quo. Synthesis levels the playing field for everyone, allowing everyone live in a future where nothing is impossible. EDI's "Perhaps we'll even trancend mortality." line gives me an idea for how a reunion between Miranda and Shepard might work but I'll need to work on  it.

Overall, I'm happy with the endings. They give enough of an explanation of what happend while leaving enough ambiguity for us to fill in the blanks.

It can take as long as you want or as short as you want.

You can even have Miranda helping WITH Shepard there.

See how this works?

Her smile reminds of the one she gives you when you first wake up from being dead. Or maybe Im remembering it wrong. I haven't played ME2 in a while.

Well, to compare:

It's more playful, less concerned, I think, in the flashback.

There's Sadness in that Miri Slide, but also Happiness. It's like the Slides were created to plainly say "Goodbye." "The End."

That light is symbolic. It's one of hope.

That's why her hands are clasped together.

Shepard is alive, and is coming back for her.
