I personally wouldn't pick Control. Shepard isn't Shepard anymore, the being he becomes might have his thoughts and memories but not his soul. That and Shepard, King of the Robot Cuttlefish seems like he's one bad day away from going all
Ultron on the galaxy Destroy would be very tempting, just from the fact that it stops the cycle once and for all without any risk of getting double crossed by the Reapers. It's also the only option that clearly allows Shepard to survive, but that comes with sacrificing EDI, the Geth, and the Relay system. The galaxy can rebuild and perhaps one day surpass the civilization that came before it, but it'll take a long time.
I like Synthesis mostly because it's optimistic. Every species has a mutual understanding of one another now, the knowlege of countless civilizations is at our fingertips nothing is impossible anymore. Seeing Miranda working on what appears to be a new city makes me feel like I've actually managed to leave this story with a universe better than the way I found it.
Also, if anyone at Bioware is watching I'd like to see more scenes like this one in DLC:
