Hey, so I went ahead and unpacked the DLC package and found this:

Not sure if you can see it but the file name is: End03_D_FlashForward_MirandaLI
So that confirms that this shows up for LI status Miranda (and similarly for Jack)

This is what shows up otherwise (Destroy ending):

I don't know why but that makes me feel better about the ending.

I would choose destroy, without a doubt. I also would not be stupid enough to walk into the explosion. <_< (That I never understood.)

Now, part of me would say destroy simply because I made a promise to Miranda. However, I think the main reason I chose destroy was because I know in my heart that it is the right thing to do. It has been what everyone was fighting for who knows how many millions of years. I also feel like synthesis is a non-lethal genocide of organic and synthetic life, and I can't bring myself to that decision.

The only thing that really bothers me about destroy is the death of EDI. And not solely because I came to like her over the past two games, but because I know her death would really hurt Joker, (who I would love to have as a romance option for F!Shep). I would say that I don't like the death of the geth either, but with the exception of Legion, they spent a considerable amount of time shooting at me throughout the entire series.

Why doesn't Miranda show up in my Destroy ending? She only showed up for my in Control :( Same for Jack

(talking about epilogue slides, also they weren't my LIs)

Somebody  else was saying that neither Miranda nor Jack were present in their destroy ending (neither were romanced). So, maybe only the romance slides are displaying properly in destroy.

There does seem to be a non-romance one in the files (at least a Miranda one, but probably both).

That would suck. Everyone else showed up and I got great closure with my entire squad, crew and friends but not my Shep's best female friends? :(

It would suck, but... could be a bug, I guess. It seems there is a slide that should appear.

Seems this is an extended version of what we see in game (at least to me it looks like it).
But, damn, how I like this =]

I think it ends just slightly before that in the game, yeah (as soon as she makes "eye contact").

I'm slightly appeased to see that I didn't screw over the entire galaxy, But the tech singularity and the whole Crucible storyline is still a blackmark. I know I'm hard to please, and yes, as a military man, I'm more disposed towards big battles than others, but I think the Reapers should have been beaten via the united attack by the entire galaxy. All the races coming together in spite of their differences, to fight for their collective survival against a common and terrifying foe and forging a new bond of fraternity (and sorority for the Asari) would have been even better. The Reapers should have been an unknowable cthulu like enemy that have no motivation that is comprehensible to organics, and they should not have been put into a sympathetic position, or had their meaning likened to a virus or a fire - that just disrespects them as an enemy in my opinion. So in essence, while the EC does give you some closure and sense with what we already got, its pretty ****** poor in that it didn't really do what a lot of people wanted it too, and that's change the ending. Starbrats appearance still feels contrived and out of place. And the Refuse option, if EMS is high enough should have had a victory ending.

I can tell you right now I would not go for Control under any circunstance.
The Catalyst says Shepard will lose perspective, connection to his people. Not only I would not trust myself with such power then, it would also mean Shepard no longer loves Miranda if you pick Control.
I can't do that.

Agreed. I would only be tempted by either destroy or synthesis. Both actually end the Reaper threat decisively (because, in synthesis, they are no longer a threat).

Let's say I don't know if I will survive in either one:

Destroy has the advantage of basically allowing organic life to thrive and evolve without the threat of the Reapers, but at the expense of synthetic life.

Synthesis has the advantage of preserving all life, but at the expense of forcing a drastic and... unpredictable change on all life with no one's consent.

Tough call Posted Image

Not really a tough call for me. It was ALWAYS destroy the Reapers.  Sorry, EDI but she did tell my Shepard that she would cease functionality for Jeff. Besides, EDI gave Joker a kiss... for luck. :)  Shepard ended the Reaper threat and he can be a little self-ish in not giving up his life.  He died once already!   He made promise to Miranda!  ;) He keeps his promises!

I just handwaved it that Shep knew he wasn't getting out of it alive and didn't care by that point...

Damn. I'm in the mood to write a fic about this. :D

Yes, its a stupid thing, but they can't change the entire endings at this point. Best they can do is Damage Control.

I theorize that the endings we got before were all they could get done before the final deadline. There was a cut cutscene very similar to the current one we have about our Squad on the run to the beam. Hence why everything gets to be rather messy, they can only do so much for the endings.

I would like to see the EC put into all future coppies of ME3 rather than leaving the base game as is.

Almost if some loving is coming Shepards way!  Love the hand on the hip. Seems like where it was going... then her sexy walk over.:wub:<3

This on the Normandy?  If so where? Hmm.... Or if not where else?

I personally wouldn't pick Control. Shepard isn't Shepard anymore, the being he becomes might have his thoughts and memories but not his soul. That and Shepard, King of the Robot Cuttlefish seems like he's one bad day away from going all Ultron on the galaxy

Destroy would be very tempting, just from the fact that it stops the cycle once and for all without any risk of getting double crossed by the Reapers. It's also the only option that clearly allows Shepard to survive, but that comes with sacrificing EDI, the Geth, and the Relay system. The galaxy can rebuild and perhaps one day surpass the civilization that came before it, but it'll take a long time.

I like Synthesis mostly because it's optimistic. Every species has a mutual understanding of one another now, the knowlege of countless civilizations is at our fingertips nothing is impossible anymore. Seeing Miranda working on what appears to be a new city makes me feel like I've actually managed to leave this story with a universe better than the way I found it.

Also, if anyone at Bioware is watching I'd like to see more scenes like this one in DLC:

In the end, the best option for me was to go to eden prime, find one of the bombs saren planted, pull out a Dos Equis, and sit there and ride it sky high.

edit* anyone notices my inflammatory posts, I'm rather stoned at the moment I think. And emotionally... not crushed, but drained.

Based on the orange lighting in the corner, Its the Port Lounge. Kaidan/Ashley inhabits that room in ME3 and Samara in ME2. It might be Starbord, can't remember what side of the ship it is.

All this negativity towards control is... disappointing. I grant you the music is a tad ominous. But I find it appropriate to the imagery of the Reapers. They will never be cute and cuddly, no matter who's in charge.

And all this dictatorship talk isn't really well founded either. They laid it on a bit thick with the whole guarding the galaxy thing but that does not necessarily imply "thou shall worship the Shepard" If anything the stupid space grandpa scene that's still there should alleviate those concerns. Do they look oppressed to you?

In any case, the disconnect from humanity is to be expected and I would consider it inevitable even if the holokid hadn't mentioned it. But that will not lead to Reaping, but rather to indifference. Commander (that's what I'm calling the Shepard-Reaper entity) is a higher intelligence. It is fundamentally different than the holokid because it is guided by the ideas of a lifeform, and not by cold AI programming. Such an entity will eventually be indifferent to those below it. Once this disconnect is complete I believe it will just leave to follow whatever goals such a being follows. In my specific case I think it explores the cosmos.

However it's obvious this disconnect is not instantaneous (given that it sticks around and vows to guard us). Therefore I believe it will still harbor some form of feelings for Miranda. I'm still waiting for your thoughts on my scenario a few pages back.

I have a default Shep or two. I don't always want to mess around with the customization because it's not something I really "feel" when I'm playing anyway.

MaleShep I always play default, I could never make a Shepard better looking than that. The FemShep I always customize because let's face it, she needs all the makeover she can get (ME 1 and 2 anyway).

It is indeed very beautifully done.
Seems to me that she starts smiling a little after she looks up and notices Shepard.
