For those of us looking for answer on sythetic stuff in Shepard.  From the Mass Effect wiki:

Heavy Bone Weave (Skeletal Lattice)
Shepard takes -50% Damage to health from melee attacks.
By reinforcing the skeleton with a synthetic weave, bones can be made almost unbreakable. In the event of bone trauma, medi-gel conduits allow for bone regenerations in a matter of days.

Heavy Muscle Weave (Microfiber Weave)
Shepard does +25% Melee damage.
Perforating the muscles with micro-fibers increases overall
strength and decreases the potential for muscle damage from exertion.

Heavy Skin Weave 1 - 7 (Lattice Shunting)Shepard gains +10% Health per upgradeStrong synthetic fibers can be woven through the skin,
dramatically reducing damage taken from most attacks. These fibers also
act as a medi-gel conduit, improving healing.

Only idea I have floating around is would Shepard accept be less than the "hero" who did impossible stuff like picking up heavy stuff no normal human could lift?  Would if all those upgrades were destroyed?  Could he accept his limitation is maybe a better way of explaining it.  Just a thought.

Miranda would know how to *fix up* Shepard if need be. No question.  B)

Question: When saving Miri, I picked the Charm option. If I were to pick the Intimidate (Red) Option. Will Miri STILL Live? What does Shepard say?

I'm sort of working with the Catylyst's statement that while what Shepard will become will end the war, he'll lose his humanity as a result. Creating a replica of the man he was before that can find Miranda and keep his promise could be his last act before he's completely joined with the Reaper overmind:

Miranda: So, you're not Shepard.

Shepard: I look like him and I have his memories but no, I'm not the same man you brought back from the dead.

Miranda: But you said he created you.

Shepard: It's hard to explain. Your Shepard doesn't exist anymore the Crucible did something to him, changed him into something else. What he became knew that there wasn't any way that he was going to see you again so he created me to ensure that he kept his promise.

Miranda: (softly) He promised that he'd find me again. Bastard.

Shepard: I'm sorry Miranda.

Miranda: Why? You didn't do anything wrong.

Shepard: (sighs) I gave you false hope.

Miranda: You told me the truth.

Shepard: I couldn't live with myself otherwise.

Miranda: Well then, maybe you're more like him then you think.

He says he will hunt down Henry Lawson and kill him, but if he lets Oriana go, maybe he will let him live. And Miri is just fine.

EDIT: Opps got :bandit:'d

IF it's Sanctuary:
Yes, depending on if you gave the intel/resources etc...

Shepard's a little more forceful when talking with Miranda's father.  He tells Mr. Lawson if he tries to leave with Oriana he's going to die.

What scene are you doing???

Is that what you're asking?

Yeah I mean that. So what does Shepard say to Henry Lawson specifically in the Red Option is used? Does it fit better than the Charm Option?

Wait...Answered was Ninja'd:ph34r:

Hmmmm....the Intimidate sounds better. What do any of you think?

That was beautiful Doc.

I have this vague idea of Catalyst!Shepard losing most of his human emotion but deciding to check in on Miranda (and child?) a few decades down the road. Incognito. Miranda is preparing for the day the Reapers go bad. Even benevolent tyranny is unacceptable. She and the Catalyst! Shepard fight a lot, but he draws on more and more of his old life until he really is just Matt with more wisdom and power. He gives her access to the knowledge of the Reapers so that organics can contend with them and promises to return to take her with him someday.

Not sure if that's a good idea.

Can anyone find a video of Sanctuary (Romance, and NO Death), where Shepard uses the Red Option?

You could always just test it out and click the option.  I think it's a great option.  Shepard's not backing down.  In a way, he's being protective of Oriana and Miranda.  He'll shoot the bastard if he has to get him away from Oriana and Miranda.

I could almost recite what he says word for word. I've watched my copy so many times now. It's to big to upload anywhere.  My converter is being a **** with a missing codex or something... it leaves the video image with green lines.  Still can't figure out what the heck is wrong with the program so all the files are left in the gigs. Hah! :?

I just started NG+ with My Story. I have a long way before the, but my Reputation is at Maximum, and I am currently at Level 58. I didn't look at my copy of the EC. I want to work my way up to it with NG+. I hope I can still see it.

I've only ever used the Intimidate option with Henry. Whether Miranda was romanced or not. Never had any problems (6 playthroughs so far).

The brain is just a highly advanced organic computer which contains a person's knowledge, experience, and the very essence of who they are(their soul.) This would be akin to data.

Data can be transferred, and it can be updated.

The Citadel absobed Shepard's mind, and thus all of who he is became the new Catalyst, complete with enough intellectual upgrades to reshape his understandings. His flesh and blood body may be gone, but Shepard has literally become the closest thing to a god that any mortal being can achieve.

Notice that like Starboy, who addresses himself as the combined intelligence of every Reaper, and yet a being that existed before them, Shepard also refers to himself with a duality in Control.

Also I imagine something like this could happen.

Miranda: Shepard! What the hell did you do to yourself?

Shepard: I sacrificed my body so I could become an immortal AI.

Miranda: I could make you a new one, a platform that you could broadcast to the same way EDI did to Dr Eva.

Shepard: Cool. Just let me make a few adjustments to the design with all of the information I got from the Reapers. I can make it able to perform sexually.

Miranda: Sweet!

With all of the knowledge and power at his command, Shepard could make his own. However the intelligence is no longer human. Hence the hypothesis that even if he creates a new human form, he'll go the way of Dr. Manhattan in the end.

A question because I'm wirting an ending reunion fic (Mass Effect: Aftermath) and I, of course, have Miri as the LI for the plot.

Trying to start this writing process off and calculating how it all fits together but the Catalyst was vague at what constitutes as Snythetic. He said Shepard was part Synthetic (I assume his implants) so what does this mean for the rest of the Galexy? Espicially if Shepard lives? And, for the life of me, Can't find anything from ME2 or 3 about what his Implants were for. Were they vital for his survival and thus putting him in a really bad condition if fried? Or are they just simply to make him stronger for battle and nothing more? Ugh. I suppose I have more to work from with the EC but not enough.

Great minds think alike.  I woke up with this fascinating idea dealing with Miranda and Shepard after destroy ending where he lives.  A reunion of sorts.  It just wouldn't let me go until I wrote it all out.  Nearly 11 pages worth in word. Many different scene ideas and not just focusing on Miranda and Shep. Everybody.

I have to admit I am just as confused as you are about what is exactly synthetic in Shepard's body.  I've looked myself on the internet all afternoon.  The only thing that everyone seems consistent on is his eyes.  Other thoughts would be yes, he was made to be stronger in battle.  Shepard headbutted a krogan... Smashed Ballerina Kai Leng's sword with Shepards fist.  What is the skin weave made out of is it synthetic?  I know it has med-gel fibers in or something does that releases it into his body to heal him.  I'll have to explore the lore and ME2 upgrades a bit more in-depth myself.

We do see in the lazarus opening screen in ME2 that he has alot of white dots all over his skelaton.  I think it's there to hold his bones and body structure together? Could the implants keep his system regulated?  Or maybe a kick start if his life signs start falling?  Shepard has an incredible will to survive.  To get up and keep going!

Thoughts anyone?  =]

I've been thinking similar things. But, still, Could his body stand the shock of everything dropping at once? I might have to skip stuff like that, sadly. Probably have to go similar to what they did with Project Lazerus and make it out to be far too complex to go into detail. Hmmmmm...

At the moment, I have a vague plan for him waking up, blink, coughing blood, while Miri and other doctors try and treat him. I'm considering loss of a limb to further the damage a bit, but that could either be far too much or be a bit redundent in comparison to the technology of the day. I say this because a Lutenient in Huerta Memorial had to get his leg removed and the Asari Doctor states...I can't remember if she said cloning or growing a new leg would take several months. Gives me plenty of time to have a bit of exposition there. People visiting, flashbacks to important scenes of ME3, ete.

Only reason I'm choosing Miri to be there instead of the "Fine me" thing is because Shepard is always chasing her. She needs to chase him for once.

Woo! Finally got chapter eleven done. Hard to avoid 'going full Mordin' when writing a salarian, I think.

Fingers crossed it should be smooth sailing from now on... (jinxed it!)

Would be great to get some feedback from you guys.

I got to say, you really like using snippets from Yvonne. First Yvonne Stryker (Jimmy Kimmel interview: one of my faves because it shows how wickedly funny Yvonne is.) and Freya (Some Australian soap that only a Strahovski fan would know.) I like.

I can totally see Shep dropping in on her to check if she's ok, but incognito. Question about head-cannoning though:

Do you think Miri would try to move on and maybe fall in love again with someone new? If so, would she try to find someone as similar as possible to Shep? If she did and Control Shep dropped in, what would your Shep's reaction be?

For my part, he would drop in, if she had moved on, he would leave her a clue that would indicate it was him, but never say it. He would also be happy for her to have found love again.

Thoughts?

Lol saw that one. Makes her sound like a MMA competitor. But she was filming Chuck at the time and her moves are pretty sweet in that.. I think she actually had to learn some fighting styles to pull off that role.

Furthermore, regarding the interview, I really want to be her Brazilian body painter, or what ever it was exactly. What a job.

Nice idea, it's what most beings would do if they love someone. I feel like I've seen your suggestion from a movie, not sure what it is though. Anyway, it's still nice.

Oh the hint thing is in more movies, plays, novels, real-life instances than I care or have enough minutes in my life to count.  It's sort of the classic moment where the persons eyes light up as they remember just as the person who has reminded them disappears. Then, of course, they get this watery-eyed look of will I ever see you again and the screen fades to black. Usually anyhow.

Whats that? Oh quit making fun of me. I'm a hopeless romantic. Oh fine, call me a sap if you like.

Probably a reaction of heart break. My Shepard has never been one of violence except high pressure situations, such as most of ME3, Thane's Loyalty Mission, any time there's a Renegade Option that makes me laugh my ass off, ete, ete.

I need to start writing this.

I also want to slightly go into my Shep's time on Mindoir and just some early stuff, but no idea on how to segway to there. Oh well.

Got some pictures of my Shep earlier and a few with Miri. I should tell you though, He was never designed to be youthful. He was meant to be pale (due to spending so much time in space and in low lighting environments like the Normandy), the stress of his life being a bit obvious in his face (Mostly because the base perfect skin always looked so...off to me), and also that his nose has been broken a couple of times. Even if Shepard is around 30 something, He looks to be about....I'd say he looks late 30s, early 40s. Still think he and Miri look nice together.

I'll post them later. By the way, Is there a spesific point that I'm allowed to post pictures at or anything around here? Some Forums have them, like having to make 10 or so posts before being able to post links or somthing.
