Anyway, we can't and don't have to solve the behind-the-scenes side of things.

Question: would it be possible to mod the Synthesis slide into something more subtle and attractive?

As I was reminded repeatedly, she recorded for Miranda while filming Chuck. So it's not an insurmountable barrier. The question is: does adding her to a DLC such as Omega add more value than it costs?

Honestly I don't think she's that expensive. Tricia Helfer and Seth green, who will both return for any DLC to come, are probably more expensive than Yvonne. I also think Carrie-Anne Moss would be more expensive than Yvonne, but if a Retake Omega DLC does come out, Aria's a much more essential character for that quest.

I was thinking.... Garrus and vega, almost have some sort of the same style when it comes to combat, how awesome would it have been when during the last push and your last speech all of your survived squad mates are present and standing in that same group, including Wrex, Grunt, Miri and so on....
And at that very moment ME3 allows you to pick any 2 squad mates from the team... That specific moment would have been the most Epic, if it actually existed...sadly that's the only place our imaginations play it's card right.

However, I'm doing my trilogy run, and finished Garrus's loyalty mission in ME 2, anyone remember sidonus??, where the hell was he in ME3, ( I made sure he lived) and once he left he made sure he will live up to Garrus's expectation and make it up to him, it's sad Bioware left it untouched.

I kind of wish Yvonne would be replaced.

"dodges incoming sniper shot"

I'm sorry, I do! Yes, she has the voice of an angel and she did an amazing work. Yes, it would be strange at first.
Yes, she is probrably not so expensive to the point where recalling her would be unthinkable and the new technologies allow her to record from her hotel room so her schedule might also not be an issue.

However, don't tell me Miranda would not have a much greater chance of being featured in DLC if her VA was just a regular at Bioware.

Just like Bioware forced Miranda's romance by having her caress Shepard's cheek REGARDLESS?
DON'T be such a DRAMA QUEEN!

I agree with JB. Last resort--she is very good--but there are other VAs who could pull the role off if it came down to it. Given the choice between a new VA and no content, I choose the new VA. Either scenario results in no new Strahovski content, so might as well patch the character.

If I had to choose between a Miranda centric DLC with new voice and no DLC, I would pick the former hands down. It's not like Yvonne Strahovski would stop being Miranda's source actress, but the character has to come in first place.

Yeah, there is an assumption of romance. Which is hilarious when I'm RP-ing a FemShep with a huge crush on her and annoying when I'm trying to romance elsewhere. There's a boatload of sexual tension between Shep and Miranda from the apartment on. Hence why I don't complain about Liara.

I'm going to go ahead and flat out say no to SNas, JB, and Jtav. Just. No. Strahovski is Miranda. Yvonne has a very unique voice, if it were anyone else I would probably instantly notice it and lose interest. Just like with Mordin. I absolutely LOVED Michael Beattie's performance in Mass Effect 2, then when Mass Effect 3 came around I instantly heard the distinct voice change and lost some interest in the character. I can highly bet you that they don't have a Polish/Australian Employee working at Bioware, why bring that up? Because throughout ME2/ME3 you can hear her real accent breaking through at points, and it's that accent that breaks through sometimes that makes me really love her performance that much more.

On a side note: Wouldn't it be REALLY strange if you heard two different VA's for the same person in the same game? Food for thought.

Side-side note: MEfan stop bringing your off-topic romance discussion between Ashley and Kaidan in here. It's becoming an annoyance.

It would be strange at first, certainly. But, like others have said, I'd prefer that to Miranda having no more content.

Hmmm, whoever voiced Oriana could do an australian accent.

She just wouldn't feel like Miranda anymore. Yvonne is one of the major parts that bring Miri to life. Would you have been able to pull yourself together if they ever replaced Yvonne in Chuck? No. If they were to replace Yvonne, Miri would end up feeling like a different character. I don't want to see Yvonne face and hear a different voice come out of it. Miri was made in such a way. She was Voiced By A-N-D Modeled After Yvonne.  Miri is Yvonne, and Yvonne is Miri. Yvonne is one of those people, who plays a certain Character, who you can't replace. Yvonne was chosen specfically for that role. And I doubt Yvonne wouldn't want to come back for recording. No one said she didn't enjoy it.

It's not just about her accent, it's also how she's acting the character.
So yeah, Miranda without her VA is not the same character, and even if the DLC is good I wouldn't buy it.
Don't want an impostor.

Ummm... little nitpick. Yvonne is Polish Australian. Technically she's 100% Polish, but you have to count that she was born and raised in the AUS.

But how would this be preferable to no content? Because, if we're talking about a replacement, then the best case scenario of Miranda played by Strahovski is already off the table. I think she did a fantastic hob, and it would be awkward a bit, but still far better than letting the character stay as is.

****. No.

Nuke this from orbit. Only way to be sure.

In fact I command all Reapers to immediately concentrate fire on this. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy.

Honestly I would prefer no content to not having Yvonne. Both sides are right in this argument, but to me Miranda wouldn't be the same. But I see your point, Yvonne isn't as expensive as say Seth Green, CAM, or Tricia Helfer, but her cost relative to Miranda's priority to bioware is much higher. That said, it's still easier than hell to get her to do some Voice Work, and besides a few episodes of Dexter that will likely only take less than a month to shoot, she has a free schedule, and she probably wants to enjoy some time off. Being a celebrity, even if she's not (yet) a household name, is a lot of hatd work (even harder for a lesser celebrity because they have to work their ass off to get parts.) She'd do it if for nothing else to get her name out there. Right now she's going to a lot of Hollywood events and parties, no doubt trying to network and make connections.

It's a pointless discussion because Miranda will always be played by Yvonne Strahovski.

So, perhaps we best move on from one inflammatory topic to another?

Is Miranda an Alliance agent in the epilogue?

Nah. Independent consultant.
