It sure was, but to be honest it had its moments during the first play through. Then it gets retarted as hell during the second, unlike ME2.

Intellectually, it's cripplingly retarded.

But then, I wasn't expecting a MacArthur level experience from a summer blockbuster.

The endings were the spoiled icing on a stale cake.

We actually had someone provide a GREAT reason as to why she wanted to have sex in the engine room last night though.

I believe Mordin mentioned 'inventive uses of mass effect fields'...and they're right next to that massive drive core.

Its existance in the EC Files all but confirms it. Too much data/detail there for it to be conceptual stuff.

Also, does anyone know of a good fanfic about young Miranda? Maybe about her escape from her father? If not, I might write one, since I think that might be really interesting.

I'd certainly be interested in hearing it.

Try "the Prodigal" on fanfiction.net

That itself is brilliant, but the whole break up with her and she dies shtick was BS.

The eezo there could act as an enhancement. ;)

I'm only joking around anyway. Doubt there's a scientific reason behind using the engine room.

Haha. On the subject of that Star Wars thing:

"What's your analysis, medical robot who surely must describe matters from a purely technical standpoint?"
"She died of a broken heart."

The death scene itself is sad, yes, but the breakup being the cause of her death is just f**king godawful. Words cannot describe how terrible it is.

I'm guessing Morrigan was the "Miranda" in DA:O?

In a few different ways Morrigan is a potent mixture between Miranda and Jack, or rather they are both spilt from Morrigan. All three grew up isolated from the world, have parental or trust issues of some sort, they are strong, confident women who stand up for their beliefs, and honestly don't give a crap what others think of them (at least on the outside). They start out shut off from the world, but when you get to know them, they are more open to speaking and confiding in you.

I guess Bioware has a type. Along with Bastila from KOTOR and possibly Isabela from DA2, at least Morrigan and Miranda make up the strong arm of the "Women of Bioware".

Which reminds me of this drawing by Tutchangers(iTrixia):

I haven't played KOTOR or DA2, but Morrigan (whom my Warden romanced in DAO) and Miranda are among my favorite fictional characters.

Maybe I have a thing for that sub-trope.

The death scene is the kind of melodrama I love. I've watched it an embarrassing number of times. But the breakup being a factor is just insulting. I can see her no longer caring if she lives or dies in ME3, but not over her boyfriend of a few months.

My problem is that the scene where she lives seems like an afterthought. Then again everything after Rannoch seems like an afterthought.

I'm fairly confident the justification here would be that you lose her loyalty if you do that, so she reverts to unloyal behavior (which is basically what happens). She no longer has the invisible "loyalty boost." Conceptually, it makes a certain amount of sense, but in practice I don't like it for reasons I won't bother rehashing.
