Erm....Not likely. They likely have no idea about the other choices, resulting in whatever you choose being what the Cricible could to do period. The AI doesn't survive any of the original three endings to say otherwise.

Well, nobody knew what the Crucible would actually do.  I don't think Miranda (or anyone, really) would be upset with Shepard for sacrificing his life for the betterment of the galaxy, which is what Control, Synthesis and Destroy are all about.  Unless you choose "Refuse" or have a low EMS, Shepard undeniably ends the Reaper threat and ensures the galaxy has a bright future.  Miranda may have disagreements over the option he chose (or maybe she'd approve, I don't know), but I don't think she'd hate him for it.

EDIT:  Thanks, Lance, for ninja'ing me. :bandit:

You are a coward if you choose Synthesis or Control. For 3 years your Shepard wanted to Destroy the Reapers, nothing else, his eyes set on the destruction of this cuttlefish, extinction causing race. Then all of sudden, through his experiences with Saren and TIm he decides to take a U-turn on his original plan and choose to Control them or re-write the whole galaxy to the Reapers liking. Thats a bullsh*t and cowardice move.

Well, Shepard does have new information that he didn't have previously. So, I don't think it's necessarily cowardly for him to modify his goals in light of that.

The way the information is suddenly presented right at the end is a big problem with the endings, though, and one of the reasons people tend not to like them ( I think, justifiably). or tend to prefer destroy (because it's more like what they envisioned as the ending all along).

It's not cowardice to do what you think is best for the future of the galaxy, especially when it means sacrificing your own life to do it.  It may be ill-advised, depending on your Shepard, but it's not cowardly.

Dianna Allers (Everyone's FAVORITE Bosh'tet) discovers Commander Shepard's relationship with Miranda Lawson!

Miranda:  You do know that there's a Cerberus infiltration Unit sitting in the port cargo hold.

Shepard: A what?

Miranda: An infiltration Unit. Sort of a precursor to EDI's body the original plan was to manufacture replicas of enemy personel to gather intelligence. We never used them because the prototypes looked and sounded horrible. Even an untrained observer could tell that the unit was synthetic.

Shepard: So we have an inactive one sitting down in the cargo hold.

Miranda: No it's active and masquerading as a reporter.

Shepard: We have a reporter on the ship? When did that happen?

Miranda: Well the fact that neither you or the crew have seen the unit around the ship I don't think we've had an information leak although I recommend that we space the thing just to be safe.

Shepard: I'll have Javik handle it, maybe it'll might cheer him up.

Well, Allers never seems to move from where she is in the cargo hold, and pretty much once I got her as a War Asset she sat in the hold and I forgot she even existed.

So, remember the discussion we had about where Miranda was here?

S: Oh your talking about Allers, the Cho-bot negative 9000. Yeah I kust keep it around to scare Legion by telling him if he and the geth try to screw us, he'll get raped by it. But now that I think about it, I'll let Javik take care of it. Or better yet, I'll put in Liara's cabin to see how long it takes for Liara to "embrace eternity" with it.

@ Doc, It's certainly similar. I think somebody had previously guessed another part of the ship. I can't tell for sure.

I still say its the Lounge that Kaidan spends the game in. The inside of the window matches with the curve of the hull.

Not quite Saren or TIM, but the mysterious spacebrat who happens to be cool with you blowing up his stuff. He gives some lame ass response about how organics and robots will always kill each other, and THEN you decide to listen to him? Though, Starbrat makes Shepard sort of understand the Reapers motives. He still disapproves but he understands why they are doing what they are doing. Remember, If my Shepard thought it woud work, he'd try to pacify the Reapers instead of kill them.

Yeah but look at the slanted are beside the window near Miri, then look at the areas between the windows in the Conference room. They are not identical, not even the are between the window and the wall.

I'd also like to point out that Starbrat stright up says that the Reapers are NOT warlike and CURRENTLY ARE NOT HAVING A WAR.

Oh. Look at all the evidence floating around that very scene that says otherwise.

Shepard: Oh Yeah?! Well look at the damn floating debris out there. Look at the monster who were once people! Look at the Worlds you've destroyed. Earth, our home, is in flames. People lay dead everywhere. *Shouts in Anger* We are all slowly dying because of you!!!! You cause death and destruction, and you think this isn't war?!!

Catalyst: I....uh......who are we talking about? *Nervous* Heeeyyy, we're only doing this to help. No need to shout, right? ....heheh

I like to think of the line from War of the Worlds (movie version 2005, since it sounds cooler.):

"This ain't a war anymore more than there's a war between man and maggots. No, this is an extermination. They'll just keep coming. They've been planning this for a million years."

While that's true, I think it's ok, as a sci-fi concept, for these beings to have some other purpose or reason for existing besides simply killing (reaping) organics and using them to reproduce. It's necessary, I think, really.

The "dark matter" idea that was apparently originally sketched out by the lead writer of ME1 also attributed a purpose to the Reapers other than simple destruction.

But the presentation in ME3 is poor, I don't think there's much doubt about that. Too much exposition late in the game. And at least one important idea that is flatly contradicted by everything we see along the way.

I believe Liara says very nearly the same thing half way through the game.

And, as I've said, the ending feels like they wrote out a very vague idea for and ending and had to run with it.
