Maybe it's cheesy but I think Henry Lawson should've been killed by his other 'creations'.
Why not put us in a situation where we can either save Oriana and Miranda or go after Henry/Luteniant Bastard Kai Leng? Miranda will survive on her own, though Ori will die. Choosing Ori and Miranda will result in a small scene of Henry running away and right into a Banshee (Bonus points if its the Banshee trapped behind that glass from earlier in the level).
I miss having those really big decisions in small forms and stuff. I remember spending all of Kasumi's Loyalty Mission questioning weather it would be a good idea for her to keep the greybox. One hand, It has valuable information that could be extremely useful in ME3, but Kasumi will still be keeping her memories of Keiji. Other hand, Kasumi could finally let go of Keiji and that information won't be haunting her forever, but at the cost of possibly valuable information being lost.
Anyways, I finally beat Mass Effect 3 on Insanity. I thought earlier, with everything, That the EC was fine.
Now....After so many hours of being killed by 2 Banshees, and endless waves of Marauders, Canibals, and Husks or the final wave of 3 Banshees, 8 Brutes, and endless Marauders, Husks, and Canibals, The ending falls flat. Just....ARGH!
Stupid Liara, STILL REPLACING MY LI?! I DIDN'T take you on missions, I didn't talk to you more than I needed, I took GARRUS, JAMES, AND KAIDAN on EVERY mission, Why are YOU putting my name up? No. No. No. That right goes to my Bros or my LI, Not you.
And then Starbrat. "Is a fire not doing what it was intended to do? We are no different than the fire." Except, You know, The fire isn't sentient and you are. You are aware of what you are doing and what you are doing is WRONG damn it.
The last time I checked, fire didn't talk at length in a disdainful tone about its superiority over me, while claiming that it was a nation of its own, or revelling in talking about how much it was going to enjoy kill me and everyone I hold dear in horrific ways.
"You maybe in conflict with the Reapers, but they are no interested in war." No. Clearly the giant battle ALL AROUND US is just for ****s and giggles.
"CLEARLY Organics are more resourceful than we realized." Yes, talk down to me StarBrat. Push me towards that lovely destroy ending. MAKE ME WANT TO KILL YOU. I'll enjoy it...
"You do not know them and there is not enough time to explain" Nice Lampshade there Bioware. Great job *slow scarcastic clap*
I also don't understand why shooting the Catalyst sets off the Refusal Ending besides the obvious fact that Bioware KNEW we would shoot him endlessly and ete. It makes no sense otherwise for shooting the Catalyst to otherwise trigger the ending besides the idea that Refusal is a slap to the face. Its a legitimate ending, but its exicution is a slap to the face.
Ugh....Why couldn't Shepard had been the Catalyst? As in, The Catalyst would be someone to manually activate the Crucible; a LITTERAL Catalyst for the endings. So much better. And, Why is it that small platform in the Citadel is what leads to the Crucible and Catalyst. Where was there any hint that that was where to go to activate it?
All the EC did was add closure nothing more...And even there it failed with the Squadmates' fates left up to debate as well as my LI just disappearing entirely...Also, Liara forcing her way into my ending, For some reason, Garrus never showed up during the Memorial Scene. I bet Liara killed him to make sure she would put Shep's name up.
All the ending is now is....It went from an F- to a D+. : /
Grah.......I want that LI DLC so bad now.....The posibility of Miranda being on that final run with you.....I love it....

Yeah. It's a shame they didn't make the most of a fair few things in the game.LanceSolous13 wrote...

Not wanting to start a whole endings chat again, but I always thought Shepard was going to be involved in some special way when it came to stopping the Reapers. Perhaps having been 'imprinted' somehow by the Prothean beacon (but not indoctrinated like Saren). That's why I was always prepared for Shepard to die and would've happily accepted it.LanceSolous13 wrote...

When the Catalyst was mentioned early on in ME3 I was thinking for the rest of the game "Oh, come on, guys! It's Shepard! Space Jesus himself!" and then felt like someone had slapped me when the Prothean VI said different. <_<
Yeah, I never got how it was worked out, as I got Thane too. I know some of it was linked to how much you talked to someone but I could've sworn I talked to everyone as much as I could but Thane wasn't exactly talkative for a large part of the game. And Traynor was the one with the nameplate (hell yeah!) in my ending.Ieldra2 wrote...

Only reason he'd appear during "A Choice has been made" Flashback is for him to have been romanced, as far as I know.

The latter flashbacks display the dead characters. Thane always dies, so Thane always appears.

He now appears most of the time as the 2nd flashback (running to the beam) in place of Joker. As a way of honoring him, I think. I gather Joker can still appear if you didn't recruit Thane or he died in ME2.
Given how Joker can't die and appears quite a bit in the EC overall, it makes sense.
But EDI appears there in Destroy. Because she dies in destroy. And then Thane only appears at the end, in the "sacrifices made" flashback sequence.
I think that's how it works now. So, the first series of flashbacks is now: Anderson/Thane, Joker or EDI (specific to destroy)/Love Interest.
In the "sacrifices made" flashback, Miranda, Mordin, Legion and Thane can all appear.

Miranda would have been great! Damn it... we need a dlc please, bioware! The game lacks substance with her awesomeness and romance... She needs more presence and missions with Commander Shepard.

...How did you get Garrus?! TELL ME! *desperate*
Only thing I can think of is that I talked to him a heck of a lot. He's Shepard's best friend. They both encouraged each other with what they were going through.
On Garrus's mission... Shepard was selfish and beat Garrus in the shooting match.
That scene had me in tears. And near the end have to avoid the paragon interrupt because my shepard has no intention of dying. haha. No Garrus without Shepard! I mostly chose renegades options on people. I was actually nice to reporter this time. Never kept any punching her options... reloaded afterwards. Just to see it. And told off the council that it "took this to get you on board."

Agreed. At first I thought the memorial scene played out similar to the crash (ergo, the person placing the nameplate was whomever had the highest friendship or romance pathing), but it seems it's completely random. At first I had Garrus, but in my last playthrough, Liara put my tag up. Daf**k?
And then Starbrat. "Is a fire not doing what it was intended to do? We are no different than the fire." Except, You know, The fire isn't sentient and you are. You are aware of what you are doing and what you are doing is WRONG damn it.

Yeah... That fire analogy is wrong on so many intellectual levels it isn't even remotely funny. It's painfully obvious they were running out of "deep, metaphorical" dialogue for StarJar Binks there.
"You do not know them and there is not enough time to explain" Nice Lampshade there Bioware. Great job *slow scarcastic clap*
Not only that, but immediately following that line, he can go on for 3 hours explaining how each ending choice works (LOL "Matrix of all organic life").

Interesting thematic comparison between Vader in Jedi and Miranda in Sanctuary. Though gray character or not, she hasn't done even a fraction of the kind of monstrous acts that are routine to a Sith Lord. Never mind that ME isn't the SW space opera type, Miranda does not fit the redeemed Sith angle (never mind the "find her a Sith name" thing a few pages back)
The shoe doesn't fit, but then, we have been saying all along: this doesn't fit, it isn't right, etc.
One could say the same about TIM, though, in a sense. He is the Emperer now in ME3, in certain ways, whereas he wasn't portrayed that way before (right down to his eventual disfigurement).
As to the Darth Maul thing, it came up at some point as a way of describing Leng's role.
Sticking with the theme of Star Wars the best analogue to Miranda I've found is the Imperial Agent in TOR. The Agent isn't fighting for the Sith Lords who are more interested in fighting amogst themselves and the Jedi he's fighting to protect the citizens of the Empire from being wiped out by the Republic and it's own megalomaniacal leaders
In a lot of ways Imperial Intelligence in TOR is what Cerberus aspires to be, they hunt down threats to the people of the Empire both without and within because when your government is run by a bunch of madmen it's always good to have someone looking out for the common man. This all of course might be because Drew Kapershyn wrote the story.

I'm thinking the Alliance resources she gets access to are the class-F fighters. The person who messages her (a Captain I think) post-Cronos mentions that she obtained access to some class-F fighters and they don't know how she managed to procure them.flemm wrote...

She does the same thing in ME3--omitting critical information because she thinks he doesn't need to know.
Maybe... That could make sense, but the fact that the Alliance resources are never used for anything makes it hard to evaluate.
Basically, if she is asking for them, that should be because she needs them for something. But... seemingly she doesn't.

I'd actually say that the ME2 team gets the better deal in the EC because it's through them that we see the future of the galaxy. I know that Miranda will make her mark because I see her doing it. That's worth more than all the goodbyes and memorials I can imagine.
Miranda is looking into the sky.
Jacob is at his Cheaters Anonymous meeting.
Jack is standing over graves.
Kasumi is still moping over Keiji.
Samara is doing... Something with Falere.
Zaeed is retired.
Legion, Mordin, and Thane are dead.
Grunt is doing... Something...
Those things tell me the galaxy is in pristine condition, I think.

Could you explain that last bit? Personally, I would have treated her like Coulson in the MCU. But this? This is just sad.
You would kill her off in the movie adaptation while introducing her as a new character in the comic book?
Hehe. But What I meant was, that I would get rid of that "space opera template" flemm mentions. Miranda's idealism and absolute fury that Cerberus betrayed those ideals would be her dominant characteristic. I would show the fight on screen. She is clearly outmatched. Leng taunts her and even gives her the chance to return to Cerberus. It's the only hope she has. She spits in his face even though she knows she'll lose the fight. This is not her Cerberus, and Leng will never understand. She's defiant to the end and gets a few good shots in. Shepard chases Leng off, but it's too late. Miranda says final goodbye to Ori and reveals the tracer to Shepard. She dies knowing that she beat Leng and his vision won't carry the day. But on the other side, it allows Leng to be perceived as a dangerous threat even if Thane is dead and provides a more personal low point than Thessia. You've now lost one of your strongest allies to the bad guys, the person you were used to having around.
And onne of those slides would be a statue of her surrounded by people with visible Lazarus cybernetics
