Not quite wrong but if a reaper went rouge it throws the reliability of the control ending out the window.

Exactly, or maybe Bioware wants to pull off something similar to drive the series forward? Just a random thought....

Rogue Reaper = Control Shepard not quite as "in control" as he thought he was.

Not only that it throws the credibility of Control out the window (already said), but also gives the Reapers a vibe I don't like: It makes them "Human". Reachable. They have an opinion on things.

They should be a higher form of life, harvesting the galaxy for a reason that is beyond our comprehension (even though the latter is already revealed), they should portray a united ancient threat we can't imagine.
That hipster Reaper just... destroys everything.

Also the reason why I disliked the idea of a last living Prothean. The mystery around the race of the Protheans was completely gone. Same thing is about to happen to the Reapers.

Could be that the Reaper took a nasty bump to the head and got all confused. Ever think of that, huh?!

Shepard: So I'll be able to control the Reapers?

Kid: Pretty much.

Shepard: What do you mean by pretty much?

Kid: I mean, not all of them but their like 99% of them.

Shepard: What do you mean?

Kid:  We're missing one. Just one, I mean it's not like you won't have the entire rest of the fleet backing you up right? So come on, pick a beam and get disintigrated already I don't have eternity! (laughs) Oh wait, yes I do!

Shepard: (muttering under his breath) Damn kids.

Little known fact: "Leviathan" in the Reaper language, roughly translates to English as "special needs".

The Reapers already did have opinions on things. And to be honest, making things too incomprehensible just makes them boring, to me.

Suppose considering my low opinion of the Alliance i shouldn't be shocked that they would be stupid enough to put Shep in such close proximity to a reaper on purpose. So unless the details significantly turn things around i'll avoid what seems a idiotic plot and a rather atrocious idea of the rogue reaper. Really thought Omega would be the choice for story DLC(possibly with Miranda goodiness) as it would likely be much more popular.

Only Sovereign had an opinion on things, and he existed before the Catalyst was even remotely a concept.

Incomprehensibility is one of the key (if not the most important) components of a Lovecraftian or Lovecraftian-esque antagonist, Which the Reapers were up until ME3.

I guess that's where our core perception of the Reapers differs.

I personally found that exactly the unreachability was what made the Reapers.
The conversation with Sovereign "You exist because we allow it. You will end because we demand it" / "We have no beginning, We have no end. We are infinite", the Collector Base when Harbinger threatens you "Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater".
I wouldn't like the idea of talking to one of those who helps you...

While that's true, I think what's done is done in that regard. Perhaps the only way to fix it now is to delve deeper and find out more.

I'm doubtful that it will have good results. But... Maybe there's no harm in trying at this point.

For me, it's the knowledge that there will be no dark age which contributes most to my satisfaction with the EC. Then comes the fact that my favorite ending turns out almost exactly as I envisioned it, and then that Miranda has a nice flashback and good epilogue slides.

All in all, I'm rather content.

Now, that's exactly how I felt. I'm excited to try Synthesis!

@Flemm

Yeah, I got the romance epilogue scene hehe.

Wintersect wrote...

Hey man I only said that because I already knew that they fixed the flashback scene. The second good-bye scene (the one where you're running towards the beam), though awkwardly paced, was unexpected. I actually thought they were really going to kill your ground team. That scene would've had a different kind of emotional impact for you if you had Liara with you, and if she was your LI. I wanted you to experience that. That's one more scene you can't experience with Miranda.

I was hoping we'd get more content, but I set my expectations low from the beginning regarding ME2 romances that I wasn't surprised they only gave us what we got. However, the idea behind the shots of Miranda, depending on your ending, doing what she's doing is much appreciated.

Well, that's fine! I watched the scene with Ashley and it was still painful even if I was mostly annoyed by her. I'm doing the Liara PT from the start so I can feel the full emotion lmao.

You know that crummy fade to black scene we got at the apartment? I'm sure Shepard and Miranda said a few things to each other after they had sex and before they went on their ways.
What do you think they said?

Nothing, I'm still going with the theory that Cerberus replaced Miranda with an android:

Miranda: ...I wanted to implant you with a control chip. It's something I've always regretted.

Shepard: It's alright, but didn't you tell me this back when we first met?

Cerberus Monitoring Station, Horsehead Nebula

Tech:
He's starting to ask questions!

Tech #2
: You're the one manning the Lawson replicant man! Do something!

Tech
: Do what?! Half of the personal dossier we have on her is about her sister! Other than the chip and what
we've got from the Normandy's listening devices I'm running out of options!

Tech #2
: Just make her seem sad, maybe he'll react and we can just sidestep this whole problem.

Tech
: (presses a series of buttons) I can't believe that worked.

Tech #2:
Neither can I. Want to grab lunch while the replicant's indisposed?

Tech
: Won't Shepard wonder why it isn't saying anything you know...afterwards?

Tech #2
: Hey, we got access to those Alliance resources like the boss wanted, as far as I'm concerned the job's done. Besides Shepard's bought into our little ruse so far.

Tech
: But doesn't that seem a little, I don't know cold?

Tech #2:
You've been sitting behind the controls for too long.

LoL. Well, at this point, it wouldn't surprise me much if we end up meeting adorable Reaper children, and maybe attending a Reaper wedding. They're so sympathetic and relatable Posted Image

Lol, not that this wasn't funny and all, but let's see how well I answer my own question.
I think that there would probably be the "I love you" (Why would they hide that?!) as well as some more playful "Be careful" jabs.

Okay, just wondering, for those of you who play ME2 as a Sentinel, what is your preferred squad for the Derelict Reaper mission? I usually go with Jack/Grunt, which as a Soldier gets me through without dying once, but last time during my first run as a Sentinel, it didn't work nearly as well.
