How very interesting!...

http://social.biowar...4000/14#7960380

"Can Sentinel squadmates (Kaidan, Miranda) use double omni-blades and/or omni-armor Sentinel Shep gets?"

"Party members don't use any of the sync moves right now... they might eventually. They do have better melees available though (I think you guys have probably seen the new three hit chains for rifle and pistol)."

So party members can use melee attacks...the chain attacks even!

As seen here

Miranda meleeing guys to death lol :wizard:

Great news, now I just need to see a screenshot of her in-game and I can effectively begin my Miranda and ME3 media blackout........... ugh who am I kidding? I need to know how big her role is before I commit to that xD

Media blackout? I won't be able to do that.

Maybe, with a great deal of willpower, I'll manage to stay out of this thread in the days between the North American and the European release.

And btw, here one of my favorite Miranda wallpapers - I like her expression in this scene:

Strange. I'm not usually a fan of pinups, but this one I like. The subject being one of my favorite characters makes all the difference. Heh....notice how she's sitting on the SR2 as if she owns the ship :D

I wonder if that image will be availabe on paper. I'd like to have it somewhere, but going out wearing this would be so embarrassing.

As for quotes, I'm really partial to this little exchange:

Miranda: I wasn't in charge. The Illusive Man was. If I were running the show, I'd have done a few things differently.
Shepard: What would you have changed?
Miranda: For starters, I would have implanted you with some type of control chip.

Brutally honest and direct. Really, really liked her character from that moment on.

Me too. A strange reaction, actually, when you think about it. So many people hate her for it, but I liked her directness more than I disliked the mention of a control chip. I also appreciate it as an atttempt to take Shepard down a notch. It may have been a little drastic, but then, nothing else gets through to Shepard.

Accents are important but they can also be distracting. After a while, anything Miranda says just sounds like sexy noise to me.

Not being a native speaker, I have to take your word for it. Perhaps it's different for a language like English, spoken in so many parts of the world, but the accents of my own language always sound decidedly unsexy to me, since they carry the association of not being widely traveled or well-read, being regionally bound, or just not very bright. So I'm glad Strahovski's accent isn't very distinctive to me.

I'm a pretty introverted guy who doesn't like to bring too much attention to himself in public but I have to say I prolly wouldn't feel too embarassed to wear it.

I might end up ordering it.... :P

Jos kirjoitat jollain muulla kielellä kuin englannilla, niin muista myös kääntää se englannin kielelle.

If you write in some other language than english, remember also translate it to english too.

On topic: No one can replace Strahovski at this point. She's as integral to the character as is Miranda's genetic tailoring. And I'm more than confident that she will be back. And for the record I wasn't that much into Chuck. I watched the pilot and the first season when it premiered and I wasn't impressed. But Stahovski herself has enough acting chops to keep me interested in a video game character, so good for her.

Agreed. I like how Strahovski brings Miranda across, and at this point switching VAs would be as bad as making Miranda blonde, but thankfully I'm not required to be a fan of her other projects.

And to be honest, those posts on the previous pages identifying actress with role - I find them seriously creepy. Almost like trying to own the former along with the latter. Things like this are what makes fans appear as drooling idiots to outsiders at times. Fans should know how to keep a little distance.

@judex rex:
Most of us here don't understand Italian, unfortunately...

@all:
He's saying Miranda's too important to be excluded from ME3, and he expects there to be rivalries between the different LIs from ME1 and ME2, and that we might face painful choices.

PS: Language stuff isn't for me, but moderators, they need to understand everyting so they can moderate.

I'm crazy about media blackouts, before DA2 was realeased I decided to start my media blackout in Jan, but I kept going till mid-Feb till they revealed Merrill then I took "drastic" measures, and by that I mean I blocked the BSN on my router and changed my admin password to a random password so I can't access it easily.... granted in the end I was disappointed in the game and had to hard-reset my router but I'll do it again with ME3 xD

Also I love that wallpaper, especially the font...

Here's some awesome fanart by hidrico:

About that David Silverman interview:

"Mass Effect came out almost eight years ago - you're not going to remember all the details from when you played that game, right?"

On which planet is this man living? Because surely it can't be Earth. Last I read, ME1 came out in November 2007, that's four years. And of course we remember. Perhaps not everything, but if a sidequest is well-written and has memorable characters, then it will be remembered even if you've only played the game once.

Not even speaking about me. I've played ME1 so many times that I know the resource locations on most planets - and the best route to them with the Mako - without the need for a map.

OK, back to Miranda.

I too am waiting for a similar confirmation, so that I can begin a Media Blackout. We live in an era that allows information to spread ludicrously fast. The "Information Age" as it's refered too has it's benefits but, It makes avoiding spoilers for your favourite Video Game/Movie/TV Show inexplicably difficult.

I will be facing a huge dilemma soon, with The Old Republic due to EA's release plan. In order to maintain spoiler free in this part of the world, I'll need to go Offline for the numerous months after the First Launch. Perhaps David Silverman can help me adjust to the lifestyle of living under a rock.

That guy HAS to be talking about KotOR. If he isn't…wow. You've got an impressive memory btw; to be able to not use the map and find all the resources is impressive.

Ieldra, I have no idea what you're talking about. The conversation was basically: "who do you think would make a good Miranda if Yvonne wasn't able too" not who'd we would prefer over her.

Which sounds like rather useless topic, since it wouldn't be Miranda anymore, if it didn't have the looks and voice of Yvonne. It would be someone else.

@Ieldra: I don't really understand what you were after when talking about the fans. Still I think most of the fans overplay their fandom, at least in Strahovski's case. I mean sure she's sexy, funny and, according to her fellow cast members, all around great person to be around with, still I know which lines are not to be crossed.

The inability to see difference between the actress and the character is unforgivable, though. They're not the same thing/person. Even the fact, that it needs to be said signals that there's something very much wrong with it

''Drooling'' at someone's looks I can understand to a degree, though I doubt most of the people who go all ballistic online, would go licking the actress like she was a popsicle, IRL. Some people might be bothered by it, but I don't personally care about those people. She's a great looking woman and I see no harm in saying it out loud. :innocent:

And it was a hypothetical "if she had never been cast" question. I wouldn't want to put up with the explosion on the forum if she were recast now, even if I am ambivalent about her performance.

No idea...to be fair I didn't actually watch the awards show for the art showcase, I just went by the guys who were posting in the showcase thread in the Announcements section (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/324/index/7722420/7) a la @hangmans tree:
