Ha. I know it doesn't have many votes but check out the relationships that don't creep people out.

I love how Miranda has zero votes.

Joker must really dig synthesis as an ending... Now every babe in the galaxy has EDI's... umm... wiring? circuitry?

The whole "fell in love with a guy you brought back from the dead" thing is a little awkward. Then again I did a Liara romance way back in ME1 but never bothered to import it after the whole "I couldn't let you go so I gave your body to Cerberus so they could bring you back!" line

As for Joker/EDI I really wish we could have brought that bit of information up when talking to the Catalyst:

Kid: Orgainics and Synthetics cannot coexist.

Shepard: Joker and EDI coexist just fine.

Kid: Doesn't matter.

Shepard: You don't understand, Joker and EDI are coexisting.

Kid: You're kidding.

Shepard: I wish I was.

Kid: I...I should go, I don't want to inhabit this galaxy anymore.

I do have a Liaramance FShep that I've played the entire trilogy with. I have another FShep that I romanced Liara with in ME, but if I bring her into ME2, I'm likely switching her to Garrus.

That dialogue was great. That would be a 'refuse' option that would allow you to win.

Admittedly the reason behind their encounter is a little awkward and unusual to say the least. One doesn't find "that special someone" by dying and being brought back everyday :P Also I remember we argued a few months ago about the Frankenstein-ish nature of their relationship. To some extent there are some similarities but personally I thought this idea was irrelevant and somewhat far fetched.
However their relationship in itself is neither awkward nor creepy I think. There's no weird line or moment such as the one you quoted.

Yeah, the background to it may be a little...odd, but it's handled in a playful way when brought into the romance. Plus, though she spent two years bringing him back, he still has to prove himself. :P

I personally think it's even the most believable/possible romance, especially after romancing Ashley in ME1.

I think the idea of someone loving another so much, she can't accept his passing and brings him back from the jaws of death itself works very well. In the context of a romance.

Outside of it, it just makes Liara look like an obsessed stalker.

Sometimes, I wish they had gone the Frankenstein/Creature route and removed the romance. More interesting. For sheer normal, you can't beat the VS.

There could have been more ambiguity between them about this.
While I agree it would have been interesting, removing the romance arc isn't necessary to make that happen. It could have added another layer of complexity/difficulty to the romance.

Personally, I wouldn't qualify Shepard as Miranda's creature. She didn't give him life, she gave him back his life.

I agree with you JB, in the context of the romance Liara's comment works. In fact it's even very touching. But out of this context it's awkward, even more if you barely spoke to her in ME1.

Which is why I like to romance Ash about as much as I do Miranda. When I think about the Miranda romance in ME3, I tend to become increasingly dissatisfied with it. The writers treat her as an afterthought for much of the game and in turn, Miranda tends to treat Shep as a bit of an afterthought, at least until the vidcomm conversation at the FOB.

Well, I think it does, actually. Certainly in 2, and even a bit in 3, during the third dialogue. One of the nice things about it, I think, is that it's almost incidental to the romance, really.

It almost has a bit of a humorous side to it. With Miranda putting him back together piece by piece, but not being emotionally invested in it at all (at the time).

The situation is rather unusual. A lover going to great lengths to return the loved one to life is not that unusual. Neither is the whole Frankenstein idea. But the Lazarus situation is unusual. Because Miranda isn't emotionally attached to Shepard at the time, they didn't know each other yet, and she's not really creating him, but rebuilding him.

I spoke to Liara a total of 1 time in ME1 (not counting the post-mission debriefs), so...

Yeah, it's kind of weird.

Exactly this. But I never once romanced Liara. I never saw the appeal of xenophilic relationships. I can only romance a human. Back to what I was going to say, Liara was the never used blue person hiding out behind Chakwas' office in ME1. I know I talked to her, but I don't remember the conversation, simply because I don't think I cared. Same with Tali in ME1. I plain didn't care about those characters at all. Kaidan had some interesting things to say, Garrus was kinda dull but fun to corrupt, Wrex was the ****, and Ashley I just listened to for the sake of renegade remarks, then lol'ing when she gets a nuke to the face. And then out of the blue, Liara is the person who has such an obsession with Shepard that she refuses to let him die. Creepy, and why Shepard has a no touch policy with Liara.

Mentioning how that whole Geth/Quarian thing worked out would be even more... awkward Posted Image

I'm really not sure how they could have devised the starchild without realizing that the whole story they had just told contradicts what he says.

But... maybe there's something I'm missing Posted Image

Edit: I just checked. No, there isn't Posted Image

I feel like I should introduce myself, like this is a Miri-aholic Meeting or something.

Hi everyone! I'm Fun Buttons, and I replayed ME1 so I could have a Shep that didn't romance anyone so I didn't have to cheat on anyone to romance Miranda. Is that enough to prove my chops?

So far this is the biggest gathering of pro-Miranda people that I can find, lord knows there aren't many of us. Quick question, there doesn't happen to be a good artist in this thread, is there? I have an idea, but my artist skills are for ****...

Welcome! Nice to meet you!

And if you're looking for a really good artist, Asakawa is your go-to girl.

Yeah, I definitely think Miranda needs more in-game content, especially closure. Glad there are other like-minded people out there!
