Anyways the point is that BioWare should reunite Miranda and Shepared so that none of them have to suffer. Miranda/Shepard together would be the ideal happy ending.

Agreed.

But even though it's not likely to happen (because of the breath scene), there's still fan fiction.

Which reminds me: I haven't worked on Salvation in a long time, but I'm going to get on it.

But that begs the question: who's better off? The one who dies? Or the one that loses the love of their life and has to live on?

Realistically, the one who gets to live, I suppose, especially with all the excitement of new things happening, and, for Miranda, the challenges of rebuilding. But... it would be with a lot of sadness, I think.

Plus, considering that everyone may now be immortal, she has no possibility of ever seeing him again (as I've said before, I'm really big on the "lovers reunited in death" trope).

Yeah, pretty much this.
It's one of the bigger reasons I chose Destroy. It's the only one that gives a plausible chance for Shepard and Miranda to reunite, even though they didn't show it. (It should have at LEAST been in a slide)
And the other reason being it ends the Reaper threat as the whole series has been about doing.

Exactly! Destroy ending has been and always will be the best ending because of the two points that you just mentioned. I was expecting/wanted the extended cut to include some dialogue between Shepard and Miranda, and showing them embracing each other on earth (or kiss either way is fine by me.)Posted Image Then I would have actually been satisfied with ME3.

Yeah, Bioware probably should have accomadated us by rewarding our loyalty to Miranda by giving us that kiss or dialogue scene at the end.
Still, as I said, I would have even been satisfied with a slide showing the two of them together.
Just something to give us the definitive happy ending. Truth be told, I'm a sucker for happy endings. Posted Image

Miranda. My poor Shepard would have loved to live in the Post-Synthesis Galaxy.

Who says he can't? The Catalyst only said that his consciousness would be transmitted across the galaxy, nothing stopping him from coming back Dr. Manhattan-style.

Geez guys, I didn't mean to bring us down like this. I almost lost someone really close to me more than a year ago and it still ****s me up every now and then just thinking how things could've been.

But yeah, I chose Destroy because, throughout the whole time, Shepard makes ONE damn promise (Miranda makes none!), finally putting some permenance on the thing between them and I refused to make him a liar. That, and the whole "yeah, this is the only decision that I agree with" part... But mostly the promise thing.

He doesn't say that. He says his "essence" will be disseminated. Whatever the f**k that is.

Plus, he's dead Jim.

LOL! You didn't make me feel down, I am actually a pretty happy person most of the time, I only get down whenever I feel like seeing my Dad again and realize that I can't. Anyways, Shepard's promise to Miranda saying that they would find each other again is the main reason why I am upset about how the ending turned out. Shepard made a promise so he has to see Miranda again!Posted Image

There are things I hold dearer than that promise. Into the light he goes. But this is the sort of death that I can work around very easily, the sort that almost never sticks. So he'll get his shiny new galaxy and the girl.

What does the artist have to do with Shepard/Miranda not having a happy ending?Posted Image I mean, it's the writer that writes the endings not the artist.

Are you familiar with "Artistic Integrity"?

And besides, I guess artist can be a broad term. Music, pictures, writing, etc.
