Well, there needs to be reason to believe that the less hardcore majority would consider forking over seven or eight bucks for it as well. That's where file statistics and whatnot factor in. And as far as I'm aware -- and I could be off-base here -- Miranda isn't exactly the least popular romance choice by a fair margin, but she doesn't exactly top the charts, either.

That's part of the reason I think factoring her (as well as Jack... and anyone else possible, plzkthx) into replacable roles in Omega would be the best route to take.

Well, I know that Weekes cares more than others.

He made the effort to take something that was given to him at PAX and tweet a picture of a book about the ME2 LI's.

With the writers of said characters.

If you want to be heard you have to make noise. There are lots of ways to do that.

You already sent in one thing for Miranda yes? Why not another?

Yeah, gotta keep 'em coming. It's a popular campaign tool because it lets studios know how persistent the fans are on a certain subject. Still, organization is key. Timing things so that a hundred posters, etc. are sent on a single day will be more effective.

Well, despite some of the angle of the fan projects, it's not just about romance. I know plenty of people who expected to see more Miranda in ME3, and before the game I believe she topped a fair few of the most voted-on site polls. She's an interesting character and I think she elicits strong reactions either way, which is good.

Most of ME3 is characters going "Oh, no, the Reapers are here and people are dying. This is quite tragic and sad." It's interesting to see people like Mordin also believing they are atoning for past mistakes, and I think something in a similar vein with Miranda and Cerberus would've been fascinating.

Oh believe me, I'm more interested in most things Miranda being fleshed out than the romance at this point. I mean, it's no secret that I've had multiple Shepards romance her, and I am a big fan of it, but if I can't have my cake and eat it too, then what I really want to see is more Miranda kicking ass, taking names and doing it all so damn... sensibly. :police:

The reason I brought that up is because there's tangible data on a sizable portion of the fanbase as far as romances are concerned. BioWare has ways of keeping track of that key piece of information for anyone who allows feedback to be sent in, so it seems like a good jumping point for gauging not just "fan" but general player interest in the character, I'd imagine.

The fact that she topped so many polls and whatnot is quite promising. I do remember some of that.

What do you mean, how much fan demand was there for it? Because it was obviously planned from the get-go in that case. How big size-wise? Or sales-wise? Not sure about the latter, but size-wise, it had to have been under two gigs, which is... really impressive...

Anyway, looks like the Patrick Weekes quote just made it to the general discussion boards. Only a matter of time before it spreads elsewhere. I'm making sure sites like GameFAQs and Joystiq get the news today. I'm concerned that the implication from Weekes will be misinterpreted, though. Already there's a thread on the general board here claiming he's "looking into it", which isn't really what he said.

Agreed with the possibility of DLC.

The interest is clearly there:
- 6th most romanced (at least on "nerd-polls". probably higher on Facebook, Twitter etc). It's promising that she is the most famous out of all side-lined.
- I have seen many people who asked what was wrong with Miranda in ME3... mostly not even romancers.
- Fan-Projects. I think they actually caught some attention. 2 general fanbooks with high Miri-participation, 1 Miranda-specific in work (How is it going, flemm?) and the #FindMiranda stuff. We fans have clearly shown that we want something.

I'd like to take this opportunity to salute all #FindMiranda contributors. When I returned to BSN recently, I was delighted to see that movement having taken form.

Make an effort and people will notice.

Something extraordinary would be a bread winner.

I guess you're referring to that recent survey? That's only now, despite bad content and not being on the team.

If you check polls going back to ME2 (easy to do on this site and in some other places), Miranda is always at the top or near the top.

It's obvious that, statistically, Miranda dominated ME2. A dev did state that Miranda was the most-used squad member in that game, but even if we didn't know that, it would be obvious from the design of the ME3 squad.

The first fanbook was extraordinary, and for all we know they could have turned it into toilet paper.

Unlikely, but I would venture to guess it's sitting in a room with all the other fan creations.

We should make another.

That's what you do to film producers.

If there is demand, even Harvey Weinstein will get off his ass and do something.

And he's a jackass.

Well, they did post a picture of five or six writers standing there with it and said they were listening.

But they might have turned it into toilet paper after that, I guess =]

Well, they did post a single picture and shortly mentioned it at some panel.... still not the reaction I would expect from a dedicated game-developer.

I mean, which fan-base (ever) sent the developers ~100 dedicated letters and very much beautiful art, bound in a high-quality book, to express their love and need for videogame characters?... and all we get is a "Thanks for the feedback!"

To be fair, I don't see it sitting on a mantle piece in the center of the room with a glowing aura around it.

The point is just that, to make a point.

Sending things in is a great way to say, "Yes, I'll shill out money for this."

But it's best to do a good job on it.

Well, I've tipped Joystiq about the tweet, hopefully word gets out. I would love some Miranda DLC, but would Yvonne Strahovski be available for VO work? She seems kind of busy lately.

I meant more recently. Who knows what they've done with it since then.

I'm aware of the lone photograph and passing panel mention.
