Actually, films about incidents that like are my specialty if you'd like to know.

**** just got real dark.

Not to degrade what happened in Aurora, but stuff like that happened on a bi-weekly occurence over in Iraq, and nobody here even turned an eye to it. You'd see one, maybe two mentions on CNN or MSNBC, and an article on a news sight, but it never got covered like it does here.

War does that as I'm sure you're well aware.

You know what was really frustrating though?

The quote from one of the producers.

I'm paraphrasing here but I'll get the message across."

"It's war, who cares about love."

Discuss.

Oh, no, I was talking about the game.

That was his quote. We were supposed to be focused on the brutality of the conflict.

All I had during my first playthrough was an immense feeling of dread.

I had that feeling of hopelessness in my first playthrough too. Honestly, I felt it was actually very cool. The first time you're on the citadel in ME3 felt like the scene from War of the Worlds where Tom Cruise and his kids are walking around the town with the ferry and the burning train and missing people posters are crowding the walls, and generally everyone from the politicians, to the soldiers, to the displaced civilians and refugees are just trying to figure out whats going on and survive the next ten minutes.

The issue at hand is that a lot of people don't like that kind of feeling.

Knowing how it ends makes me feel a bit better I suppose but so many people are having trouble understanding the High EMS Destroy ending.

As much as I would have liked a reunion, I fear what they would have injected into the game.

It's easy for me to understand what it means. That slide of Miranda is framed that way intentionally, with the light beginning to shine.

But in the end, was it all worth it?

Dread? Not really for me.. more anger.. "I wanted to rip the reapers apart with my bare hands and watch them blow up" to quote Traynor. Especially when they killed that kid..

I actually enjoyed the presence of the child in the first part of the game. I play a almost full-paragon, hero Shep tho, so it make sense for him to try to save the child where it wouldnt if he was Reneshep.

I had so much hope after I played the demo that I couldn't wait to reach the end of the game, just to experience the epicness that I knew would be my shep saving the galaxy.. that's REALLY why I had such a hard time with the game.

That and they shafted the **** out of Miranda.. but so did Shep.. huh-huh

The only kind of shafting Miranda should be receiving.

Seeing Liara in the flashback was the worst part.

Dear God.

I don't like forced symbolism. Dreaming about the same child reinforces something I would think my Shepard would do, but I would think his friends would be there too.

Right?

I agree. The nightmares were PAINFULLY bad. At the end of the first one, my reaction was simply "I'd like to thank Shepard for channeling the Audience's Reaction". What. The. ****.

There is no emotional connection to the child. And, He sort of rejected your help Shepard and ran. Nothing you could do there at all. Not your fault. AT ALL.

The nightmares should have been about the VS and anyone who died in past games (Suicide Mission) and continued from there.

And, actually, What if everyone appeared at the Crucible and "helped" you pull the trigger. I saw it in a really awesome little comic and EVERYONE was there and they put their hands to you in encouragement and helped you aim the gun and pull the trigger... I'm going to go find that comic. now.

Agreed.

Just a gripe of mine, but did anyone else notice the smug look on the kid's face during the final dream? The one where dream-Shepard hugs the kid?

Perhaps solace is what we find when we see the people we care about after a great conflict.

That is art.

But as for shafting, yes, I would imagine a great deal of libidinous rush sex is in store for Shepard and Miranda.

Sans that face o Ventus.

By that point they should have just said...

"Jump into the ****ing beam ***hole."

Or it's a metaphor for Shepard's soon to be destroyed morality.

Still the symbolism makes my art organ hurt.

At the potential expense of igniting a gang war...

Which ending would Miranda pick?

I personally think Destroy.

Destroy. Control has too many variables and black boxes. Synthesis I think even Miranda can realize is screwed up. Added to the fact that there's no reason to trust Star Brat, Miranda would logically go for Destory.

She wouldn't choose Synthesis for obvious reasons.

She wouldn't force genetic tailoring on anyone. Imagine that.

She would shoot the pipe.

Hopeless anger mixed with a grim callousness. This is a war. People will die, even the ones that shouldn't. Something as senselessy destructive as the Reapers, what does it matter for the reason of their existence? In the end they must be destroyed if we are to survive. And not just humanity, but every species in the galaxy, every being with hopes and dreams and choices to live their life. And Miranda. The goal that she believed in and the hopes and dreams she has. And the power to make those choices. That's what my Shepard was fighting for. He was ruthless but compassionate towards all life. He didn't think there was anyone or anything inherently better. He just wanted to give them all their future. And Miranda was his stake in that dream.

However, they need a choice where you tell the reapers to go to hell, and expedite their trip there.

I have united the ENTIRE ****ing galaxy. WE are ALL here at this moment, united in spite of our differences to fight for the common goal of the hope for our future and the choice to live for that hope. Everyone, from Turian to Krogan, Volus to Batarian, Geth, Elcor, Hanar, Everyone! From Soldiers, to Cops, to Mercenaries, and even Criminals we will fight against annihilation! And we WILL succeed.

except the asari and salarians. they get what they deserve. but thats just my bitterness showing through. they were there too.

That should have been the message of Mass Effect.

That is the main theme of Mass Effect.

Not Organics vs. Synthetics.

I agree. When playing ME3 as an isolated game, and not a member of a series, the game is actually quite good. Organics vs. Synthetics works and is highly relevant to modern society. But when we factor in the message, moments, characters, etc from ME1 and 2, ME3 pales in comparison and falls far short of even a "good enough" game.

That being said, I really do enjoy the Synthesis ending.

Synthesis...

Let's not go down that road.

Any and all effort now should be focused on getting Miranda in DLC.
