Really? There is a difference? I didn't think there were plot flags for that. I guess Gibbed missed a few things.
I didn't know that either. But, other than part of my first playthrough, I always import.

Castle's good. Mostly 'cause Fillion is a baus.
Stana Katic is pretty pro too.
But not Castle. I love Castle, but I don't see her doing it. White Collar, and she can reunite with Matt Bomer. Or Covert Affairs, where she will play Sarah Walker, long lost sister to Annie Walker. Royal Pains or Suits would be pretty good too.
NCIS and CSI have long ago run their course. I don't know why people still watch that crap.
White Collar would be awesome. Yvonne and Bomer made the hottest couple I've ever seen on television... or anywhere. If it hadn't become so cliché by now, I would love watching her character trying to catch Neal.
Never watched much of Covert Affairs, but from what I've seen so far the show is pretty decent, Yvonne would fit that as well.
However, I think Dexter should be her last stint on TV for a while, after she's done she should focus more on her movie career.

What the hell do you want her to be in? Action? Sci-Fi? Drama? I bet I can name a hell of a lot of films, and some of you would object.
Do you want her to stay in small things, being small side roles in Jason Statham films?

cool it. She needs to be established in some kind of role that is intelligently written with her being character being similar to Miranda or Sarah Walker. But those roles aren't happening, because the common person finds them to offensive or unpredictable or different. People are stupid they won't like anything that goes against what the media tells them to be for.
The media tells them that women are abject sex objects whose purpose is to come second to the man. They can't be too smart otherwise they alienate the sex-minded people.
And if it means more career stability for her, then yes. I wouldn't call Chuck or ME2 a small role though.

I think popular culture is a lot more diverse than that these days, tbh, where its portrayal of women specifically are concerned. Of course, sex appeal is a major factor in entertainment (and would we really want it not to be?), but there's a lot more going on than that.
And, of course, sex appeal is a big part of life. So... it's not like fiction should ignore it.

She'll be fine, but I don't ever see her being a huge star, but that's a good thing.
The people who are remembered are the ones who turn in consistently good work, not the ones who play the same role again and again.
She has ten years ahead of her though, which is great. But past that it's a big, fat, unknown.

But it's kind of a shame that neither of these roles (Especially for the latter film) appear to be a Sarah Walker or Miranda-esque kind of character.

Well, Yvonne has the lead female role in I, Frankenstein (Which, I won't lie, looks pretty cool with Bill Nighy as the main villain), and I would assume she's playing the lead female role for The Guilt Trip as well, due to her near-the-top crediting and my admittedly vague knowledge of the plot synopsis.

That's because women are usually poorly written.
They have tests that determine these sorts of things. Most films fail them.
In fact, it's rare to have a film where two women have a conversation about something other than men.
^ That's a fact by the way.

Although I must say that what little I read about her Frankenstein role did interest me. It doesn't seem like she's just another sex icon...
...But then again, this is a contemporary horror movie, where there must be 12 sex scenes over the course of each half-hour.

Popular entertainment traditionally has a bit of a hard time passing it. Of course, that's partly due to the protagonist often being male. In an RPG like ME, for example, if you play femshep, it will pass with flying colors. If you don't, it won't look as good.
Aliens is just a really good action movie. But it will pass the test because of Ripley.
Sometimes in modern movies, you can tell that there is a scene where the script writer wanted to pass the Test. I noticed this in Thor, where suddenly Natalie Portman's character and her sidekick, played by Kat Dennings, have a conversation about wormholes/tech stuff that is partly exposition, but partly for passing the test.

In truth, those films aren't really mainstream titles, or they aren't going to be.
I would expect some type of exposure as that's what she's known for. But is it a comedy or a drama?
If it's the former...

Actually, knowing how broad and all-encompassing the 3 criteria are, I would say that a fair number of modern mediums of entertainment pass...
Well, not sure it can be applied to all forms of entertainment, but for anything with a story and mutliple characters, it works.
It doesn't really mean much about the content, but it is a simple and somewhat interesting perspective. However, not all-encompassing. For example, you could have one film with a super-awesome, very progressive female character, and another with a couple of very conventional female characters. The first might not pass, the other might, but... that wouldn't really say much about the characters.

Most of the shots of legs and butts you see...are not the actresses.
They're body doubles. If the actress is wearing something...particularly revealing, they'll shoot her from the butt down.
You aren't looking at Miss Strahovski's backside, you're looking at "Buttocks Model One" or "Leg Model One"
That's one of the things they don't tell you.

isn't Yvonne doing roles that are not like Sarah and Miranda a good thing?
It is. Acting diversity is always a good thing, it's just that since Miranda and Sarah are arguably her most famous roles, and she may likely be typecast as a similar character, which in itself isn't inherently bad, since it allows her experience.
Actually, Yvonne being typecast as a Miranda/Sarah like character may not be as bad as it sounds...

It can be.
If you're not careful it will be the only role people will cast you for. Those roles are few and far between in mainstream Hollywood films.
If you want characters that aren't terrible you usually have to go to independant films, where the focus is more on character.
