I thought you had to "romance" one of them.  Which ever one comes to talk to you while you're grounded on the Normandy.

Mac Walters probably had it removed because he realized not everyone would save his waifu.

I had no idea that Leng was originally intended to kill Wrex. If that had happened, no way would I allow the Genophage to be cured under any circumstances, regardless of which Shepard I was playing.

If you don't show any interest, no one says anything.

That keeps things nice and level if you plan on romancing Miranda. No conflicts.

Also, if you're on the PS3, you simply select that you weren't interested in either Liara OR Ashley.

And Shepard just sits there in his cabin. Alone.

This actually happened to me the first time I played ME2 (I played ME2 before ME) because I didn't know you could romance someone.  My second playthrough was literally done just so I could romance Miranda...

I have 2 playthroughs. They are both the exact same except for the VS. My main has Kaidan survivng with no love interest  in ME1, and my alternate is romanced Ashley, who I break up with and kill by shooting her on the Citadel during the Cerberus coup.

My Shepard has My Name. I feel like I'm sucked into My Story as Shepard, interacting like I'm actually there as Shepard. The Story pulls me in, because of the Decision in which I choose that are based on My "Personal" Feelings, Beliefs, and Instincts.
