I think it's mostly from an outsider's perspective that a character being focused on appears to be the result of a writer "liking that character better" or whatever.

A lot of writers say they are hardest on their favorites.

As a general rule it's just better to avoid comments that can come across as derogatory toward other characters. Even if there is no ill intent, it just doesn't really serve much of a purpose on a forum like this.

Example:

Miranda is awesome.

Rather than:

Miranda is more awesome than X.


Because #2 can come across as derogatory to X or people who like X. I'm pretty sure that's what jtav meant. I agree that it is better.

Not that anyone is going to lose any sleep over a comment or two along those lines, but let's not overdo it.

Yes, I'm playing on PC with FXAA graphics enhancements and a significant number of Texmods, including an HD version of Miranda's outfit and improved textures of Sanctuary.

How it works for me is, the TexMod files are in the Mass Effect 3/Binaries/Win32 folder. 

I open Origin, then rename "MassEffect3.exe" to something else, then rename "TexMod.exe" to "MassEffect3.exe".

I click the ME3 icon in Origin, and the TexMod interface opens.

I revert both file names back to what they were ("MassEffect3.exe" -> "TexMod.exe", then "[whatever].exe" -> "MassEffect3.exe").

I click the "Target Application" button in the TexMod interface, and choose "MassEffect3.exe". 

I load my TexMod packages and hit "Run".

I hope that helps!

I've honestly never understood why some complain about Kaidan suddenly being bisexual. Sexual Identity changes all the time and you've missed three years of his life. Also, You never really asked back in ME1.

Steve and Sam were nicely written. I am going to be honest and say that I clapped when Steve said he lost his husband and NO ONE MADE A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT. It was mentioned and no one questioned it. I was overjoyed because all the time people in media are like "Oh. Your gay?" and interupt the conversations which bug me to death.

Anyone who romanced those three are very very lucky people.

Anyways, back to Miranda...

I'd assume so. It's probably ME2 messing with the lore, but I guess you can have a shield unit on your person/in your clothing that generates a field. With her outfit in ME2, you could probably imagine it has some sort of protective layer woven in, around which the shield also configures itself.

That's how I'm writing it anyway. JUST TRY AND STOP ME.

It's just gameplay/lore segregation. Literally every game that has existed, ever, is affected by it.

Well, at least I missed having been called stupid for having a different opinion. Always disappointing to see emotions getting the better of reason. I'd rather have arguments instead...

Anyway, I feel I must do something against the excessive romance focus again. Miranda is more than Shepard's love, damn it, and I'd rather have DLC with her that focuses on her doing something impressive.

I'd just settle for DLC where she's around. She's literally my second favorite character (and one of my "big 4", where they're just way better than everyone else IMO). I think her romance scenes were fine, I'd like her around to make snarky comments and just generally be awesome.

There’s a .bat file floating around that basically does this for you. You can find it in the Femshep thread, at least. Or try your luck searching…I don’t have the link, unfortunately, since I don’t play ME3.

Ehh, I like the scene where Javik looks into the shard, so he will always do it in my games.
