Damn, you guys. Enough with the character-hate already. :pinched:Posted Image

And a slightly-related image from before ME3 was released, when I was trying to see if I could get a good look at whoever Miranda was throwing out of a window (I had hoped it was Kai Leng).

Doesn't look like a femshep to me!

Miranda would tell her off.

That doesn't mean Liara will stop anytime soon...

Besides, Liara can be with Javik.

Right after he commits suicide, like he plans.

Not if you tell him not to touch the memory shard.

I don't think Miranda would be polite to Liara. I think it would be a VERY VERY Thinly veiled threat.

Thinly veiled?  Didn't you watch her interact with Jack in ME2?  And that was just over a disagreement about Cerberus' past.

I'm just saying, I think Liara would get the same treatment that other asari who shot Niket got...

Enyala was biotically lifted and then warped, followed by repeated shots to the head.

I don't think Liara will be as badly beaten for just flirting with Shepard.

I was mainly referencing that.  I didn't mean she'd kill her.  Just toss her around a bit.

However, this is bordering on character hate, so instead I've decided that they'd just discuss things like adults, and Liara would get over it since she's going to outlive them by 800 years.

I swear she also used Stasis.

Well, Pull and Lift render the target unable to act, so probably not.

Very true but the glow over her body always made me think of Stasis. Pull and Lift give the attacker much less control over what the victim is positioned in with everything flying everywhere. Stasis freezes you in place.

Here's a thought that's been bugging me lately. Do you think the Alliance will abandon Shepard again, for a second time?! Meaning not looking for him/his body/etc after the beam goes off in destroy or any ending for that matter. Would Hackett care if Shepard lives or dies? He does order the fleet to a some unknown rendezvous... Would Miranda just sit around waiting for Shepard to find her or would she be the one looking for Shepard... I know we all want Miranda to find him. :)

Would the Alliance?

Joker seemed very hesitant to leave.

Like i said a page or so earlier i see miranda grabbing the first operable shuttle and heading for the citadel to find out what happened to Shep. Hackett and co will jump back sharpish too and want to explore it too. Shep will be found and treated. Some people may regret it later when Shep takes the reins and starts pursuing the future he wants.

Thanks for the input on this.  And everyone else.  ;)  This helps iron out some details for my next fic.  And with Hackett... <_<

Before the war: My Shepard had some resentment towards the Alliance and the council. For starters leaving him for dead... may feel like they'd do that to him again.  Use him until he's no use to them.  Him being the scapegoat for "Arrival" is a perfect example and taking away his ship!  One could say he'd be pissed that he waisted 6 months sitting on his ass... without Miranda.

I'm pretty sure Miranda would be overprotective of him once he came back alive and not wanting the Alliance to screw him again.

side note: I enjoy the Game of Thrones on HBO.  I bought the game and I'm half-way through it... A bit wordy in dialogue, combat is very not my style.  Not fond of switching back and forth between the characters when it starts to get good or I get too involved with the character.

To be honest I think it would be one of those relationships that everyone would know about but not speak about openly unless it was brought up.

Everyone would know who Shepard belonged to. They did in ME2 and I'm sure it's known in ME3.

I agree, Miranda waits for exactly however long it takes for someone to so much as breathe "Shep hasn't been found/is missing/whatever" before she commandeers the first space-worthy vessel she can find and goes looking for him.

Doesn't she already have a spaceworthy craft? I thought she was in charge of some sort of ex cerberus fighter squadron or something?

It's never exactly clear why she's with hammer, given she and her renegades have a squadron.

If they did a Rogue Squadron or TIE Fighter style ME game I'd buy it.

Oh man. I rather like Ashley after all's said and done. But the noise she makes at that part... genius.

*falls out of his chair laughing uncontrolably* OH GOD

I can't watch that scene with a straight face. Oh my god. Same for Kaidan. Espicially when I don't think either have ever had a scene together.

Don't cry Ashley. On low EMS runs, you and Liara are next. On high EMS runs, you are already dead.

I hope Miri slips and calls you Jacob someday...

I still love you :kissing:

In my headcanon that poor attempt at fixing her character never happened. It's plain and simple stupid.

What didn't you like about it?  It never bothered me.  Miranda can pretty much do anything, why wouldn't she join the war effort as the head of her own squadron.? I mean, yeah, she should join the war effort by JOINING THE FREAKING NORMANDY, but I've made peace with that...
Or did you not like that she only cares about the war at the end, after the sista drama plays out?

She's to busy thinking about Oriana, she doesn't have time for a war.

The issue with Miranda was that one aspect of her personality took precedence over the others, two if romanced.

The other is still there, but it isn't as visible as the others.

That's why some people are upset.

Well, at least I missed having been called stupid for having a different opinion. Always disappointing to see emotions getting the better of reason. I'd rather have arguments instead...

You tried to justify murder on the basis of a difference of culture. Thats just bad no matter how you look at it.
Any cultures that practice free murder must either be corrected, dismantled, or entirely eradicated.

1. She doesn't/shouldn't have any knowledge of flying fighters. She is a tactical genious with medical knowledge. Coordinating troops on the ground would be more her thing.
2. If she has time to lead a few fighters, I am even more disapointed that she doesn't join the Normandy. She decides to rather fly ordinary troops without any signifance than joining her man on the best ship available. That'S even a weaker cameo than "taking care of Oriana".

People have a tendency to overlook things in characters that they don't like.

The aspect of Miranda that was shown in ME3 was always there, whether people will admit it or not. The character took this direction and it's upset people.

Unfortunately you must take this into account when doing character analysis. It's more than evident that Miranda knows that something is up with her father, but when she realized he was involved with Cerberus she kicked into high gear. She gets the job done and it DOES affect the war effort, but not in the capacity most people would like.

I'm not particularly happy about her limited involvement, but I'm not furious that whomever wrote her in ME3 humanized her more. Her motivations now represent EVERY aspect of her personality in ME3, it's just now one takes precedence over the other.

My only complaint is that there wasn't enough content for Miranda... She needed more...! Hopefully some DLC could help? *crosses fingers* please god... more Miranda Lawson. :)

They can fix it if they want to.

The question is whether or not Bioware will want to.

Money is not the issue, Bioware bringing people back in is.
