Yeah, and any performance leaves area for interpretation, but I do think Miranda's face and body language is very emotive. Quite an accomplishment for the designers (especially considering this is the game with sideways running in vancouver. D'oh!)

Agreed, definitely, that it is emotive

I would love to see a comparison shot of the first scene you all are mentioning. Does anyone have one? Or know where to get one?

I like the fade to black, I've always found the love scenes in Dragon Age Origins and the ME games to be awkward.

It's not just Miri either, Ashley gets a few scenes where her facial expression can change based on slight things. When you tell her you want to be with her on Mars, it's excellent.

But this is the Miri thread, back to her.

I'm playing my ME2 mirimance tonight, and I gotta ask: Why is stealing the kiss in the renegade spot? How is that renegade?

I don't care, I'm stealing the kiss...

Yes, Miranda's eyes do "brighten" up when she sees Shepard for the first time.  I love the smile and flirting.  She does open up to Shepard.  I think that's growth right there!  She admits her feelings.

As for stealing the kiss!  Yes, I love that!  I have my Shepard do it everytime.  It makes me smile and chuckle.  Just like the third conversation where they tease each other about losing control.  It gives me that "good" feeling.

I prefer the Paragon Romance.

The Renegade options drive home the idea of competition driving the sexual tension. At least that's what the kiss scene implies.

The Paragon Romance builds her confidence and is less forceful.

I prefer the latter.

That's why walters ordered a full naked model for his waifu, and just for her. Screw fox news, everyone has to love liara as he does.

Sex is only part of a relationship dude.

I really don't care if I have one or not because the intention of the scene is not tantric apartment sex.

I can't say I care much about the fade to black. Not that I would mind a longer scene, but other things are more important.

I find the scenes overrated. It's all about character interaction/connection and see the romance blossom between shep and the LI.

Honestly, I wouldn't want a Liara style scene for Miri or Ash.

The lack of pillow talk is still frustrating. Don't have much problem with the fade top black (still si a disappointment), but I have more problems after the fade to black shows Shepard alone out of the apartment.

Not to mention he waking up alone before Cronos.

It all depends on how they execute the scene - Jack didn't need a sex scene in her Paragon romance in ME2 because it would of been way out of line and not right. Sex doesn't always = great romantic scene. It depends on who the two individuals are and what matters for their relationship. Who cares if Liara got all that nudity and yes, you can argue that she gets the most detail because of "x" and "x", but would that much detail really suit Miranda, if she had a similar scene? I think it depends, since I'm just going off her scene in ME2 and she doesn't seem shy at all and is comfortable with Shepard, maybe something like that would work - but then there is all the events leading up to that - her sister, close to death because of Kai Leng, etc. Maybe some heat of the moment type thing before all is over? I don't know, I picture something different and I guess it depends on how you roleplay your Shepard(s).

I'm more than certain they talked. It just isn't shown.

And for Cronos, the obvious applies.

Unless you'd like a half naked Shepard looking at a picture of Miranda the whole way there. What message do you think that would send? =]

I prefer fade to black. First time I saw the engine room scene, I was torn between laughter and "that's it?" The bar none most erotic scene in the romance is turning her down, because you know from her tone that she'll be ripping your clothes off ASAP. And the most romantic moment is "Damn it--you're right." What is it with this romance and rejection?

@spirosz

I think that Miranda and Shepard didn't really know if they were coming back from the Suicide Mission.

It's best to find comfort before the oncoming storm.

But it obviously meant something to Miranda. In fact it meant a lot.

That connection is powerful. The bonding process is stronger than most people realize.

Imagine how you'd feel if that was the first time in your life that that had happened to you. I'd imagine she's head over heels but she just doesn't show it.

For sure and I agree, I just think the scene could of been better in ME2, but again - I view it as you see it, so it doesn't bother to the extent as it would others.

Head over heels was the wrong word.

Miranda uses the word attached.

But that's a special use of the word when she's uses it. And I mean that literally. She's trying to not emote too much.

Imagine if Bioware pulled a Jacob on Miranda and even if you romance her in ME2, she breaks up with you regardless, making it seem like a one night stand thing. :(

The thought has crossed my mind.
Needless to say, none of us would be happy at all. We'd have launched a "Retake Miranda's romance in ME3" movement, I'm sure.

That's the problem,. they didn't show it, like they did with their favorites LIs. They also failed to show how sanctuary worked, and failed to show what were all the characters from ME2 doing on Earth by not showing it.

And for Cronos, the obvious applies.

Her abscence in cronos still is a big fail from bioware, thanks to remind me that

Unless you'd like a half naked Shepard looking at a picture of Miranda the whole way there. What message do you think that would send? =]

And why not having somethign different like the VS and Liara got in ME2, Shepard doesn't have to be half naked to remember his/her lover.

I'd probably be torn between laughter and anger. Muxh more anger if she was as big a jackass about it as Jacob.

That certainly would have caused problems for them

Though that's exactly why I feel with the Jacob-mancers: They are just too few to get through to the big corperation BioWare and that's why they won't ever get content. BioWare probably amused more haters with his character-kill than pissed off fans...

It's really sad that the minorites get sawed off so heartlessly, but that's just what BioWare has become:
Are you not part of the majorities they can make money with, you are not worth anything.

No, that's sure a Human issue in general.

BioWare just stands out because you can see their evolution from a group of dedicated artists to a money-milking company very good.

At some point you have to overlook certain things because it's just too unrealistic to expect them.

It's more than evident that Miranda isn't in the game more because it was written that way. It has nothing to do with money.

The end sequence was meant to resemble an unending, which is unfortunately very popular right now. You're supposed to imagine everything in your head. This is a disastrous thing to ask a large audience but Bioware did it anyway.

EA had nothing to do with it. Things are the way they are because Bioware made it that way.

It's just a colossal artistic failure on some levels.

It would be nice to see what Miranda and the other ME2 characters were doing, but you're going to have to do it in your head.
