I think she does care about the character.

I think she does, too. But either for some reason Bioware doesn't want to mention her in association with the game (which doesn't make much sense, as it would validate the direction they are taking), or she doesn't want them to mention her in association with it.

I do wonder how tricky it is getting back into character for some voicework you did two years previous.

Also, I'm sure Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez must've had a hand in her taking the role in the first place. :P

As far as talking about ME3, all I saw was that tweet with something like "So, how's the Mass Effect 3 going?"

The best metaphor I've ever heard for Hollywood is still Hotel California.

"You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave."

It's a wonderful place, but it can eat you alive if you're not careful. I mentioned yesterday that Miss Strahovski has ten years left. I'm not just being sullen, I'm dead serious. She has ten good years left to do what she wants and if she's as smart as the people in this thread say she is, she'll jump at the chance to do more work.

And that includes Miranda.

True. If Hollywood ever dies down, she'll always have voicework.

Miranda in ME2 is never particularly cold or detached in private. Only when she is doing her job. It can easily be argued that Miranda is a much healthier individual in ME2 than in ME3.

Post-LM, absolutely.

I'm assuming LM stands for love making Ieldra.

Post Coitus would work as well.

I don't know if "cold and detached" is the right way of putting it, but I do think she spends the majority of the game seeing people as resources and means to and end, and not as people.

Though it might be a similar case to Ashely. Ashley only trusts a few people, but once she does she does. Could be the same with Miranda. I mean, she doesn't really care about Jacob, but she still keeps her promise to him. That's actually a suprisingly compassionate scene for her.

So I guess it's just a lot more under the surface for Miranda early, and you sort of have to look for it.

Well, on the contrary, that's a sign that she does care, just not romantically anymore. It's not really surprising. Because she had a personal relationship with Jacob.

Miranda does care and always has.

But she isn't expressive like some other characters.

Liara for instance cries all the time.

And you have the option to hug her. No thank you.

Boy I ****ed that one up.

Sorry about that.

But I would imagine she'd feel pretty good after that too.

Chemical releases and such...

Yeah, i may have worded that wrong.  I mean, her thing with Jacob was probably more of a fling for her, I doubt there was any true intimate connection (well, emotionally...).  Clearly she does still care in some way.

She cares. I don't think it's any more complicated than that, really.

Wilson was just butthurt that she didn't care about him.

It was sort of a fling. Jacob mentions this. It was REAL good for a very, very short time and then it went sour REAL fast.

And Shepard, like the doll he is replies with a potentially racist remark.

"SOUR GRAPES?"

wat

...how is that racist?  I mean, "sour watermelon?" yeah, racist.  What does grapes have to do with race, it's an expression?

Do you know what Grapes look like when they're left to rot?

Are you aware of what a scrotum looks like?

Have you seen the color of Jacob's skin?

Yeah...

That's the conclusion quite a few people came to. I'm not the only one.

It seems I've made a mistake again. That is not acceptable.

However I'm not sure Jacob fan club cards even exist, so you have nothing to take.

Miranda main purpose in the game was to die, to make the new players feel sad about a character.

Considering the higher amount of sales will come from the established fan base I would say that this is false.

If this was the case she would have died regardless.

She was NOT forced into as big of a hole as Jacob,Thane, and Jack.

She has the second most stringent set of survival criteria, right behind Mordin.

Knowing how much objectively better and more put together the death scene is for Sanctuary compared to her survival counterpart, it's evident what Bioware's intention was.

It does give some insight into the relationship though.

He mentions that he'd be with her if he understood how she worked. That tells me how incapable he is in that department.

Miranda really isn't that difficult to figure out.

Which makes me wonder if Jacob wanted a relationship for other purposes.

Third.  Kelly Chambers.  And at least Shep doesn't ever shoot Miranda in anyone's playthrough!!

I don't think in Mordin's case it's even really survival criteria, so much as a side-effect of the genophage arc having different outcomes.

She can survive though. That's the interesting thing to note. Miss Strahovski is also quite a bit better than most of the other Voice Actors.

She could have just have easily been killed off like Thane or derped like Jacob.

But she wasn't.

But yeah, I get the idea that Bioware wanted me to break up with her and go for someone else.
