"I'll always want you in my life." Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect 3

Miranda is the one who puts a tracker on Kai Leng. Without that tracker, you never find Cerberus, you never find out what the catalyst is, and the war is over.
Both were instrumental. Tali, on the other hand...

Doesn't change the fact that Liara decided to stay with Shepard and help against the war, and she's also responsible for finding the only weapon that could put an end to the Reapers. Miranda's only concern was her sister and she couldn't care less about the Reapers taking over as long as Ori was missing. Oriana is the only family she has, I get that, but choosing to go try to save her sister instead of contributing to the war efforts is the selfish choice, it's the same as putting one person above everyone else.
That is true.
And it's something we have to take into account, as Miranda is a bit...aloof in ME3.
She does state she doesn't want Shepard to get involved too closely because she wants him to focus on the war.
She also doesn't want him to worry about her.
But she's bad at holding things sometimes, as a Romanced Mirand awill ask Shepard if he worried about her.
She's also on the run from Cerberus Assassins.
I also headcanon that Miranda believes Shepard will die. She's trying to put some distance between them, trying to get back to her emotionally aloof self in ME2.

Useful mechanic and engineer for the Normandy. But that's all she'd be doing.

Miranda is a completely different character in ME3. It's hard to believe it's the same character from the previous game. I can totally see Miranda trying to find her sister, but from inside the Normandy, where she could have all of the Broker's resources available to her all the while she was helping stop the Reapers.
I know Miranda joining an Alliance ship would be hard for her and not something she'd normally want to do, but the war is an extreme circunstance. At the very least, she should've joined the Normandy after Horizon, the writers really f**ked up her character.

She can't resist him.
He can't resist her.
And for a short time, all the galaxies troubles disappear.
Which is the point of the scene.
She's uncertain if she likes him, but she knows she really loves him.
^ Props to the person who gets that reference.

That is not my intention. If I thought you were a moron I wouldn't talk to you. I participate in your Synthesis thread because I enjoy it.
But that doesn't mean I'm not going to have a differnce of opinion.
You're also quite a bit older than I am, so we see the world differently.

Well for the romance slide she can be doing something active. She's just spending her off hours waiting for Shepard.
Remember, the romance and working Miranda are not mutually exclusive.

If that counts, then Miranda has been warning the Alliance of incoming attacks by Cerberus and leading teams to strike at their bases.Babi_Siha wrote...
She also helps the Alliance with the Broker's resources
Unfortunately, we don't see much of it.
Miranda is somewhat selfish when it comes to Oriana. We've known that for a while.Babi_Siha wrote...

She's selfless when it is about her own well being and, in ME3, she gives the impression she could have just grabbed Oriana and fled but decided to stay in Sanctuary longer to shut it down completely.

I'm pretty sure it was Liara that discovered the device when she was there and if it weren't her, in the end she's the one that presented the device's blueprints to Shepard.
Miranda was instrumental at that, but there was an alternative to track where the Cerberus base was that could work (can't remember what it was though and I'm too lazy to go to YouTube).
And Tali, well she really is useless. I still hate the fact that she's a permanent squad in ME3. Now with the EC, I can finally stop worrying so much about war assets and have Tali jump off.

I definitely agree that the appearance that Miranda doesn't care about the reaper war or about the travesty that TIM has turned Cerberus into is idiotic. I'd be fine if they had her off fighting Cerberus with her own unit, that while disappointing might be an understandable reason why she isn't on the Normandy. As it is all i can do is headcanon stuff because Bioware didn't want her to have any content bar a rehash of her ME2 loyalty mission.

Liara just did something with them.
Liara stumbled upon them when she clicked the wrong link while watching Shepard take a shower on Earth.

She mentions meeting contacts and making them talk. So she's still being Miranda.
But you need an iPhone or Android to know that...
Better lasso up some money or you won't get the info you need.
Would you like me to post the text?

This is from the ME3 Data pad. You can mess around with the Galactic Readiness Rating and some such.
But characters will also send you messages pertaining to plot.
I digress, here is the text.
"I managed to catch up with a few old contacts. They didn't want to talk; but they did. More later."
And look at this. She sends you one after the scene in the apartment if romanced.
"Good Luck."

I think this bears repeating. Miranda in ME2 loved her sister, but she was also a competent operative and tactician and she brought Shepard back to life. In ME3, her only contribution to the bigger picture comes about by accident.jtav wrote...
