As Miranda & Shepard's relationship develops both Romantic & Platonic, Do you think Miranda would develop a "pet name" for Shepard? If so, What would it be?

I'm curious what you all think.

So can anyone see Miri having her own vessel in ME3, especially if she resigned (which she did for me in My Playthroughs)?

I would really like that (if she didn't resign, she steals one from Cerberus). I can see her having a small and fast courier ship which can be managed by one person or an auto-piloting VI.

Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. :(

BTW, has anyone else wondered what the Normandy needs a crack pilot for? Except in combat, I'd imagine ships would be more effectively piloted by VIs.

Because it's much more fun talking to a real human pilot than a VI.  I mean common, it's Joker!

Yes.
I never liked Joker and with the introduction of EDI he has become redundant. Plus, I don't think he is funny at all, just annoying.
My Shepards also blame him for their deaths and I hope we get the chance to sacrifice him for the greater good at some point in ME3.

Normandy without Joker is no Normandy, ME without Normandy is no ME.

human unpredictability adds an unexpected element to AI combat - as joker says: a license to screw up.

As I said....except in combat. For anything non-combat, a VI is quite enough. Also, an AI can create random numbers much more reliably than a human.

Anyway, this OT excursion was prompted by the thought of Miranda having her own (small) starship in ME3. Nothing wtih a big gun or a cloaking device, just something to get around on her own.

Joker comments after EDI is unshackled that it runs smoother with them both instead of just EDI or Joker.  EDI can take do the work of the rest of the crew, but the ship does need a helmsman to be at top form.

Assertions are fine and good, but....why? I can't see much an VI can't do at least as well as a human pilot. If so, then the VI programmers are morons and/or computer hardware hasn't progressed beyond today's. I have yet to see a *plausible* in-world rationalization for the need for a pilot in standard non-combat situations. And with technology being what it is, there can't be one, actually. It's just that the thought of a completely autopiloted ship makes people feel uncomfortable.

Again, back to Miranda - no one else wants her to have a ship of her own?

@ParadoxAu:
LOL....what exactly is a "plutonic" relationship? Are you an astrologer?

Depends really, does she need a ship of her own atm? It's pretty subjective term I guess.

But okay; once Miranda and my shep are married (d'awwwwww) she can have her own spaceship and I can have my own spaceship too! I'm confident that she wouldn't stray because she's totally in love with Shephard (because as we all know, male sheps are gods gift -- principally because they're 'alpha males' ;))

i highly doubt anyone will have an independent starship amongst the main characters (i also doubt we'll see the LSB ship again if Liara's onboard the normandy). after all the idea of party characters is that they aren't too independent from yours.

the comment i made about AI pilots comes direct from ME2: EDI states that in an AI fight the AI with the most processing power will always win, unless there's an element of unpredictability thrown in - human error in the case of joker. personally i don't buy it, but there you go.

I think we will have to get Liara off the base while fighting Cerberus troops actually.  That would not surprise me one bit if that actually happens.  TIM knows LIara is the Shadow Broker and he also is keeping tabs on Liara's relastionship with Shepard. LI or not.  Which is why I think he will go after her to get to Shepard.

I think that's pretty reasonable assumption and there's one more piece to the puzzle, TIM knows where the Shadow Broker is.

I think at times he set Liara up to be the SB.  Why else would he give Shepard the intel she needed to go after the Shadow Broker when he told Shepard Liara was working FOR the Shadow Broker and couldn't be trusted when Shep asked about her during their meeting after Freedom's Progress?

It's a sign that you need to check your eyes. It says Platonic.

I say that 'Commander' ( or maybe even 'Captain' in ME3 ) in her sensual tone is quite satisfying.

If not i really don't know maybe something similar to ashleys 'Skipper' but tied much better to Miris personality

Honestly, I have no idea, but I'd say it would be based on Shepard's first name...or the middle one.

Middle name might be easier than the first name considering everyone can pick a name for their Shep.  And I know one of my Sheps has a name that isn't really a name.  Something funny I use for a lot of my game that is a mix of two of my favorite things.
