I poked my head in the Tali and Liara threads.

I had no idea it was that bad.

Someone told me the other day that one of the Talimancers actually made a...doll of Tali that was life sized.

Ieldra needs to send me that picture. I don't want to see it. But I kind of want to too.

Ah yes, the tali doll..........at your own risk

I made a new wallpaper today. Not a particularly original concept, but I enjoy it nonetheless. :)

I don't think Jack and Miranda fans ever had problems with each other, not that I can think of. I don't like Jack, but I think her fanbase is probably the most normal of the whole BSN. Miranda fanbase could win, but you know, Luis kinda makes that impossible.

Pretty normal, yeah - except for JakeMacDon and his hate of Miranda. Every fanbase has its crazies. Not sure if he's still active.

I think a character like Jack shouldn't have been on the team from an in-world perspective, but she and Miranda make a pretty good team. Possibly the best apart from Miranda and Jacob and on par with Miranda and Kasumi, depending on your Shepard's class.

Oh, and, honestly, I don't think any of the ME2 character stuff really feels naturally-paced. It's all very condensed. And I don't mind that. They are on a suicide mission, after all, and unaware of the metagaming aspects like we are.

I'd rather have that than static, unchanging characters. And, some of the stuff is just more subtle in some ways but noticeable for characters who pay attention to them. For example, I never knew Thane to become afraid of dying because I never romanced him.

Hmm, this raises questions. Post-Destroy, who would become the new Human Councillor?

Dominic Osoba was selected as Udina’s replacement. I killed him off on Earth, of course, but YMMV. The rest of my post-destroy is ongoing here.

That's something on YOUR end mate.

I'm seeing Miranda just fine on my end, both times.

I don't see Shepard doing it, because they like being in the field and while Hackett would be definitely great at the job, I can't imagine him wanting to leave his fleet, they're both too much of a soldier.

Honestly, I could see Shepard putting Miranda's name foward as a candidate. Despite her past with Cerberus, she's ridiculously qualified, a problem-solver and more importantly, she knows how Cerberus thinks, so she would be the best person suited to weed out any pockets of resistance.

Well, as much as she's qualified I can't imagine Miranda ever wanting to join the Council. She knows they are a bunch of bureaucrats and she hates that, Miranda has always been the kind of person who likes to get things done whatever it takes, someone telling her she couldn't do something because it's against the rules would probably not bode well with her.

I actually liked the idea lillitheris had of Dominic Osoba as the new Councilor.

Politicians have always been portrayed as incompetent in Mass Effect. I agree with that for the most part.

But someone has got to do it.

Miranda would get a lot more done outside of the bureaucratic system.

I have no doubt she would, I just can't imagine her actually doing it. Miranda would hate working for the Council. I can see her helping them in the same way she's helping the Alliance, but never joining either.

The one thing people have people have been tossing around here is having her be the head of an independent organization. She'd be able to do what she wished and if Shepard is alive, he can help with the people while Miranda helps with the technical aspects.

They'd make a hell of a team in that regard.

Dominic Osoba is a good choice. Seems reasonable and stable enough as a person.

I don't see Shepard doing it but that's because he believes all the politicians will do is look out for their own species interests, to the extent that other species will be negatively effected and he'd be trying to build a true interspecies platform that looks out for everyone. He's more of an explorer anda leader than a soldier in the field kind of guy. Bioware goes out of their way in ME3 to establish that no matter how you RP Shepard, he thinks of himself as "just an alliance marine." Shepard isn't going to stay and listen to the alliance's bs. No, he's got bigger things to worry about now; He may have finished the fight for his own reasons, but now with Miranda telling him that he has a chance to make humanity and the galaxy better, though he doubts this. Miranda also won't let him throw away his future and the galaxy for her sake.

I can see what you're saying for Hackett, but Hackett loses credibility for his association with the alliance. He'll try to get humanity out front of the other races, and make it look like the alliance led the fight to stop the reapers. Shepard of course will be the poster boy, blindly following the alliance everywhere and fighting for all things blue and white. I also would not be surprised if they try to make Shepard look like he loved Ashley Williams.

Things are going to get VERY tense between Shepard and the alliance, especially when his support for Cerberus and belief in trust towards aliens becomes known. He's too high profile and too much of a hero to assassinate, but the alliance will definitely want him to keep him under their control and in line. Miranda is the key to that.
They'll definitely use her to keep him good and golden, but in the end Shepard abandons the alliance to reform Cerberus as Phoenix.

Personally i don't see Miranda wanting to be councillor. Neither does that position interest my Shep. Really putting somebody malleable into that position is their aim in my game.

I hate how Shepard will always be an Alliance lap dog. I was really hoping to play ME3 as anti-Alliance as we were promised and instead all we got was Shepard defending the Alliance. In my destroy headcanon once Shepard recovers he's finally done with the Alliance bs, becoming a little more renegade than usual and joining Miranda in her quest to reform Cerberus.

Miranda reforming Cerberus would be perfect and fits her well. Cerberus manifesto makes it clear that the original intent of the organization was the improvement and survival of humanity. And what's wrong with that? Every species only looks out for their own, I honestly believe humans should be no different.

You know what? I hate how politics and politicians are reviled in the ME games. They're almost always portrayed as incompetent, while the military has all the people who get things done. I seriously *hate* the militaristic message that sends.

Having said that, no, I don't think Miranda would like to work for anyone again. She'd create her own organization, be it for research or something else.

I could see her working "with" politicians or various groups. Like, they wouldn't be in charge of her, but they're recognizing of her talent, and her recognizing of their resources, would lead to a mutually beneficial arrangement. Like, she's be a consultant or project manager or something...

Yeah i hate the forced Alliance lapdogism. I just have to roleplay that Shep is just playing along. In the aftermath of destroy the universe is in disorder and My Shep and his Miranda will strike while the iron is hot and some in the Alliance will not like it when they find out Shep isn't the loyal docile poodle they thought he was.

I hate the militarism too. I suspect that's why I have such a problem identifying with Shepard. Give me scientists, diplomats, scholars.
