I hate how Shepard will always be an Alliance lap dog. I was really hoping to play ME3 as anti-Alliance as we were promised and instead all we got was Shepard defending the Alliance. In my destroy headcanon once Shepard recovers he's finally done with the Alliance bs, becoming a little more renegade than usual and joining Miranda in her quest to reform Cerberus.

Miranda reforming Cerberus would be perfect and fits her well. Cerberus manifesto makes it clear that the original intent of the organization was the improvement and survival of humanity. And what's wrong with that? Every species only looks out for their own, I honestly believe humans should be no different.

Yeah i hate the forced Alliance lapdogism. I just have to roleplay that Shep is just playing along. In the aftermath of destroy the universe is in disorder and My Shep and his Miranda will strike while the iron is hot and some in the Alliance will not like it when they find out Shep isn't the loyal docile poodle they thought he was.

I have a similar thought about the ending. Shepard wants nothing to do with the Alliance anymore so he can finally live his lfe with Miri, but Hackett won't let him retire while the galaxy is in such a fragile state. That pisses Shepard off big time, so he resorts to blackmailing Hackett and says that if the Alliance won't let him retire he'll leak the content of Kasumi's greybox and the reports of every black ops mission Shepard did for Hackett.

Well my Shep has no plans on retiring as such. He just plans taking advantage of the disorder to shake things up. Hackett i have a feeling could well be an ally to Miranda and Shep but it is fortunate that Anderson is dead as i feel he wouldn't be happy with the new direction.

You know what? I hate how politics and politicians are reviled in the ME games. They're almost always portrayed as incompetent, while the military has all the people who get things done. I seriously *hate* the militaristic message that sends.

It's funny because that's how all these sci-fi games are. They build the lore around the military because the mechanics are about killing things.

If you look at Gears of War, it's about a coalition of meatheads who hold all the power through military might. And the strong military angle is especially clear, come the third game. Then there's Halo, with its united military forces.

It was an interesting topic about which I was considering writing, though I'm not sure what else there would be to say.

And on a semi-related topic. Has anyone seen the trailer for the CGI film 'Outback'? Features Yvonne Strahovski voicing a koala who bears (lolpun) some similarity to Miss Lawson. And wait until you find out her name...

I haven't seen it.

The only things I've seen from Yvonne are Chuck, Killer Elite, ME2, 3, and Galaxy, The Canyon, and a few of those HeadLand parts with Yvonne.

I've been looking for some of her Australian cinema stuff for a while.

Australian Cinema is fascinating. It became similar to American Cinema in the seventies and eighties after censorship began to wain.

There are some downright hilarious (and awful) exploitation films that came out of that period. I thought that American exploitation was bad but it never compared to the Australians. They even had a name for it, Ozploitation.

The Australians would have two women running completely naked from some lucky bastard in poorly constructed monster suit. It's downright hilarious because the films serve ZERO purpose. It's entertaining, if only because it's just so, so awful.

It has since improved however, and it's nice to see Miss Strahovski can get work there as well. I suppose it's always been somewhat...normal though, with directors like Peter Weir hanging around. But the most famous film about Australia is Walkabout. That's a real... reactionary film. Although it was made there it was directed by a man named Nicolas Roeg, who was British.

Also, on a related note, I can tell you how to find Miss Strahovski's Australian stuff if you want.

Well, one thing that might be interesting to think about is how certain roleplay aspects of the game and certain important choices made along the way can compensate for the fact that it is fun to be constantly killing things.

I remember thinking that DA:O did a good job with this when I first played it. I guess that impression might be augmented by the fact that killing things in that game really isn't that much fun at all (gameplay is poor), so it was always the dialogue and story that were most satisfying. But I felt like the game rewarded you for not always being violent and bellicose.

ME does that sometimes, too. Clearly in ME3 there is an influence coming from I'm not sure exactly where that has some pretty vulger ideas about what players enjoy. They could be right, I guess. But... I don't know. Sometimes it's better to respect your audience rather than pandering to them.

Yeah, that's a good point actually. I know as ME's mechanics got stronger, they seemed to phase out some of the more RPG-like aspects in favour of keeping a consistent pace for shooting things. Not that the stuff's entirely gone but, as a minor example, ME3 ditched the hacking/bypassing stuff. And I guess a wider audience wouldn't want a first-person-negotiator game (even though I absolutely loved those bits in DXHR). :P

I don't know if it's true for everyone but I only really noticed how beautiful some of the ME3 environments were after visiting them a second time. I was always too focused on kill, kill, kill. Then again, I was a vanguard...

Do it.

My favorite film about Australia is Gallipoli. If you know your history, the Battle of Gallipoli is considered the birth of the modern Australian.

The Mad Max series is also great.

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for but the best way to find anything from her Australia related is to go an Australian DVD site (SHOCKING I KNOW). However, you're going to run into some issues if you plan on doing it this way.

DVDs are encoded by region, and I believe Australia is Region Four. Any DVD player you buy in the United States will not be able to play it, as we are Region One. Furthermore I'm fairly certain that their programs are PAL encoded, which means that they run at a higher frame rate than ours do. In this regard, you're best option is to find a television that has NTSC and PAL capabilities AND a region free DVD player. You can do the latter rather easily, as most cheap DVD players have a code that will allow you to set the Region Code to whatever you want. Changing the players Region Code to 0 will allow you to play discs from all Regions.

This is the best way to find material in good quality. It isn't cheap sometimes but it can pay off, as I've had to import things from the United Kingdom because I can't get them over here.

Thank you for this link!  Omg.... Miraaaanda!  hahaha!  I must see this!  When does it come out?  I'm definitely buying this!  :o

Yes, they do have some beautiful environments.  Even in the multiplayer I have to stop and just look around for a second.

Even on Earth... I just watched the Reapers move around a bit... no since rushing it.  Anderson runs funny... I even had Shepard try to pass him... wouldn't let me. The faster Shepard ran the more goofer Anderson ran. LOL.

^ That's a localized trailer. It will never see a theatrical release in the United States or have a DVD release here. If you REALLY want to see it, take my advice in the above post.

from what many people have told me, a lot of stuff can be found on youtube.

That said I do have a Mexican DVD player which I believe is region 4 encoded.... piece of ****, but I bought it on a whim when I was in Mexico City.

I'd have to dig around for it though. With an Xbox, a Blu-ray, 2 computers, and netflix/hulu+ for everything, I never thought I'd need it.

You'll also have to deal with PAL encoding. It runs one frame higher than NTSC.

This makes things run faster. The difference is not discernible, however things run 4% faster in this case.

Youtube is not an optimal place to watch things as it compresses things. You can do it though, if you're cheap like me or it's really rare.

Apparently this Koala is also a high-ranking operative in an organisation attempting to assure Koala dominance in the Outback.

Wait....what? Really? A Koala named Miranda, who's part of an Organization for Koala Dominance? I guess the Director or someone else in the crew for that film must have played Mass Effect, because it is way too similar.

Not only that, the Miranda Koala is a romance option, and really good at stripping the defenses of the alligator mercenaries.

You have no idea how hilarious that sounds.

Koalas sleep for most of the day, eighteen hours I belive.

I also watched a documentary on them recently. They are incredibly motivated...sexually. This was a main focus of this documentary. And here I thought it was going to be a National Geogrpahic like experience. NOPE.

I'll NEVER look at Koalas the same way again.

21 hours to be precise. They are incredibly lethargic.
