*on some beach with Shepard and crew, Miranda and Shepard escape from the others around sunset*
Shepard's arm slowly wraped itself around Miranda as hers did the same. The pink sand looked beautiful against the teal-blue ocean and orange sunset. It felt warm and nice between their toes. Miranda's hair flew gently in the late afternoon wind.
Shepard stopped when he'd gotten a signifianct distance from everyone else. They were still in eyesight but far enough away that the two could have a private moment on the giant beach.
"Miranda, There's something I need to tell you." He started, looking her in the eyes.
"There's something I need to ask too." Miranda said, she seemed a but uneasy. Shepard knew the feeling; he felt exactly the same way.
"Then ladies first." Shepard offered.
Miranda put her arms around Shepard's neck and leaned in close. "Two years ago, I was alone. The only family I'd ever known was my father and a sister I had never planned on speaking with. Now, my sister is living with me-Us" she corrected herself. "My father is gone, and I went to hell and back with the man of my dreams. I owe it all to you."
"I love you so much, Joesph." She never used his first name unless it was important. "And I think its time I asked you something."
Miranda bent down and got on both knees before Shepard. Shepard smiled as he fought back tears and a bit of laughter. She took a deep breath and put her hand out infront of Shepard before opening it.
"Will you stay mine forever?"
In her hand was a simple silver band. It looked like something was engraved inside.
"Yes" Shepard said without thinking. "Yes, I will" he said again.
Slowly and gently, Miranda grabbed Shepard's hand and slid the ring onto his finger. It fit perfectly; just as Miranda and Shepard were a perfect fit for eachother. A tear of happiness slid down Shepard's cheek. His smile was the most honest he'd ever been.
Extending his hand, He pulled his bride to her feet. Miranda was doing her best to fight her tears
"Now, There's something I need to say" he said with a sigh. Shepard pulled Miranda close to him; her head resting on his chest. "I'm not sure how to follow up to what you said, but" Shepard started.
"Four years ago, I died. Two years ago, I woke up from death's grip and I saw the face of an angel". Shepard could hear a small sniffle from Miranda. He put his hand softly to her head and rubbed gently. "It made my heart stop. This face I saw was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen". Miranda could feel Shepard's heart pounding in his chest. She could tell from that alone that he was as nervious as she was.
Shepard stopped hugging her and looked her in the eyes. "It was your face that I saw. Ever since then, I haven't stopped admiring your body; your mind; your persionality; everything that makes you you".
Miranda could no longer keep the tears from rolling down her face.
"And now," Shepard bent down on one knee. He pulled a metal case from his back pocket.
"If you'll allow it". He pulled back the lid of the box.
Inside was an intricate silver ring holding the most beautiful diamon Miranda had ever laid eyes on. Looking closelu, she could see that the surrounding metal work supported smaller additional diamonds. The ring shone brilliantly as it caught the light of the sunset.
"I'd like to keep admiring you; forever." Shepard finished his proposal.
Miranda was at a loss for words. She could barely breathe. For once in her life, She had no idea what to say. The ring; Shepard's proposal, her emotions; everything hit her like a truck.
"Y-Yes. I do" she sputtered. "Forever".
Standing up, Shepard put his arm around her waist. He slid the ring onto her finger. Miranda looked up at Shepard; his smiling face still expressing a million different emotions.
"Stop smiling, damn it, and kiss me" she ordered playfully. Shepard complied. They closed their eyes. Their tongues explored the other's familear mouth. They showed no interest in anything around them, just eachother.
Their kiss was followed but a sizable applause. It quickly opened the couple's eyes in more ways than one. The entire crew stood near by watching them. Shepard and Miranda turned a bright red. Had they watched the whole show?
"Congradulations Shepard" Garrus raised his bottle in toast. Most of the crew nodded in agreement.
There wasn't a single thing wrong with that day. The entire thing was...
Perfect.
