She would have been 6-7.

Wow....that really was during the time when Humanity first took steps in council space. No wonder the outfits look a little different in Evolution. I need to get my hands on that Comic. I hope it's good.

So it takes place around 2156-2157.

The XO is most probably Liara, in case she isn't then nobody is.

The XO room was unoccupied (no XO on the ship), so Liara usurped it. And we don't have any crew member taking charge of the ship when Shepard isn't on board. The closest one would be Joker.

Liara is NOT  My XO. She's only there because the SB Base was destroyed. My XO will ALWAYS  be Miri.

Looking at the screens Jean Luc posted I had to legitimately sit there and think about it.

What terrors (or joys) have I wrought?! :o

Joker isn't necessarily the "leader" type though.  I wouldn't be surprised if EDI or Garrus filled the role of XO when Shepard was away.

XO is a job title, the person who does the administrative stuff and takes command in the captain's absence. It is not synonymous with best pal. The Normandy XO is probably a character we don't know.

The XO room is dead to me,like the rest of the ship with the Alliance theme completely desecrating it.

Perhaps.  But remember, while Garrus and EDI are Shepard's 'pals,' they're also very capable of leadership.  But you're right, it's probably some Alliance soldier we never speak to :P

Sorry, JL wasn't addressing you. "Miranda should be XO because Shep loves her" comes up every so often. It's dumb.

Maybe the girls who guard the war room are the XO's...

The girls who guard the war room are certainly more chatty then some of the crew.

Although the Doctor Strangelove reference is amusing.

Miranda isn't the XO in ME3. But that isn't the problem.

The problem is that the writers never stated who is the 2IC on the Normandy.

It was ok to not having at the beginning of the game, however after reaching the Citadel there is no excuse to not having a 2IC on the ship.

Pressly was our XO in ME1, Miranda in ME2. In ME3 there is nobody to take that responsability.

Thanks for the info on the last page Doctor. I think it'll be interesting. I'll need to find some Sentinel builds soon though, as a feel Leviathan will probably be announced this week, for release NEXT week.

In regards to the XO, I would think it would be the VS.

There is no XO on the Normady in ME3. Since the Earth was attacked, the Normady left unfinished, with a Skeleton Crew, meaning the people who were refurbishing the Normandy, and Security. No one on the Normandy in ME3 qualifies for XO. So if anyone thinks that Liara is the XO, they're sadly, and even amusingly mistaken.

Liara doesn't have a rank Luis. She can't really order anyone to do anything.

Miranda couldn't be XO there anyways. It's an Alliance Ship now. She has no rank.

Right, but nobody is saying that Liara is the XO :P

If it's not Joker, Garrus, EDI, or the VS, it's likely a soldier we weren't introduced to.

I know. I'm just saying, on the Normandy, in ME3, no one Qualifies for the position of XO, because it's a Skeleton Crew.

I haven't gotten a response from Weekes yet in regards to who the XO is. I'm thinking it's either someone we don't know, or there isn't officially one.

Regarding possible characters becoming XO:

No aliens. It's an Alliance ship, it should have a human as XO.

- Kaidan: HE could be a good option to be the XO, however he is out for half of the game. My other issue with him is that he outranks Shepard.
- Ashley: Same as Kaidan with not being in half of the game.
- Joker: Not sure if he can be one. At least he follows Alliance regulation (having a relationship with the ship is ok with the rules).
- Samantha: She could be a great XO, the bad thing is that she is the yeoman.

Or no one at all. Like I said, it's a Skeleton Crew, not a Specially Assigned Crew like in ME2. This is because of the attack on Earth. There was no time.

Perhaps, though doesn't Alliance doctrine require an XO on board all ships?  Granted, this is the war to end all wars so they might be a little more flexible with the rules.

Maybe they just forgot about having an XO, or they never wanted one. I mean, they needed a reason for Liara to usurp the office.

They left while the Normandy was still grounded and under refurbishment. Only a few were on the ship in the last minute.
