Though I will say that it makes much more sense if she does it while romanced. It feels kind of rushed if she isn't. Just IMO.

Come on, who DIDN'T romance Miranda at least once in ME2?  ;)

I've actually grown to hate the resignation scene, not so much for what it is as for heralding ME3 Miranda. Hardly ever destroy the base anyway.

One of the best moments from ME2, easily.

I pay money to see the look on TIM's face when he finds out that Shepard has been fratranizing with Miranda.

He would be jealous, because he couldn't do it.

Wilson is a great example. He COULD have caused problems.

Pretty sure that doesn’t count as justifiable homicide in any jurisdiction.

I never said it was justified. That's my point. It would have been far better to capture him.

That's what I would have done.

Everything is black and white until it involves you. It's far harder when you're involved.

…And that’s how humanity discovered that it would be good to have a system of justice.

The dichotomy is pretty stark. Miranda’s extremely capable, super-intelligent etc., but at the same time utterly clueless about what Cerberus is? Don’t think so. Willfully ignorant, maybe, but that’s not high praise.

Someone wise once said something that applies here: “own it.”

Not to be random...

Well, I don't see that scene as Miranda choosing Shepard over TIM. The way I see it, Miranda was finding out more detais about Cerberus that she wasn't aware of, like Project Overlord, or TIM betrayal on the collector ship. I think she finally realized that TIM was too far gone and he wasn't the same man she used to respect.

The reason I believe this is because if you have Miranda's loyalty she'll quit Cerberus even if you never speak with her again (at least I think so), so she's not really choosing Shepard.

His dossier states that he's slept with six women in one week.

He compensates so much it's not even funny.

But one of his most trusted agents going against him like that.

Bahahahaha.

That's not compensating, that's just being rich and successful...

I'm not going to have to link to the south park episode am I?

If romanced, sure. If not, there's no reason to believe she resigned because of Shepard.

It's compensating.

Why do you think he slept with those people?

Because Miranda was out of his reach.

I wouldn't think very much of her if it was because of Shepard. Abandoning her most deeply held beliefs because of her boyfriend? I prefer to think she'd done some soul-searching and that order was when it crystallized that she and TIM weren't on the same side.

That was an attempt at humor. I still love the scene nonetheless.

If she is linked with him romantically she has hormones running through her. That alone puts her at odds against TIM.

But Cerberus is no longer the organization it once was. as well

If she's romanced, I don't think it's too far fetched to head canon that she does it in part (not wholly of course) because she's dedicated to what Shepard stands for, not TIM.

More so if they're sleeping together.

Science and all that...

I think it can be both in a sense, yeah. Or either.

It's obvious from the conversations you have with Miranda at the beginning about Cerberus' activities that she trusts TIM, but not blindly. She has questioned him in the past about the dubious activities of certain Cerberus cells, and has received answers that she finds acceptable.

She is probably too ready to be accepting because she likes the challenges of working for Cerberus, and because the organisation originally gave her protection from her father. But anyway, by the time the Collector Base happens, she no longer trusts him.

It seems, from that dialogue, that she and TIM discussed the possibility of keeping the base previously. At which point she apparently hesitated, and finally decides that he can't be trusted with it.

In passing, I've always found it amusing that TIM seems to think that Miranda can handle Shepard and the other squaddie who is there Posted Image

Yes, Miranda would commit murder if she felt the situation warranted it. She is not a nice, or even a particularly good person. She is a spy, the 2IC of a terrorist organization. Good people need not apply.

Exactly. She wouldn't like it, but she would do what's necessary. As I said, those are the rules of the covert operations game. When Kahoku ran into this black ops organization and continued his investigation, he made himself a target. He knew the risks. That doesn't make it right, but if you're only willing to do what's right your place is not in this game. Miranda is not the kind of person who would back off from getting her hands dirty if she thinks it's necessary.

Try because he's a good looking, incredibly smart and can afford every ype of woman he wants. I don't know where this sick idea that TIM wanted to get in Miranda's pants came from, but I find it utterly ridiculous.

Dawg, that's satire.

It's meant to be over the top.

It's nothing more than an addiction to stave off pain.

Which makes him all the more pitiful in some regards.

He really hasn't been the same since his girlfriend, Eva Core was killed.

It's called satire. It supposed to be ridiculous.

It's still compensation though, only for different reasons.

It's satire with a point.  That point is that guys crave sex, and if we have the money/fame/both to get lots of it, we're going to.

Just don't get caught dawg.

I don't think it was as simple as abandoning her beliefs because of her boyfriend; I felt it was a combination of her realizing TIM's true motivations ANNND realizing that without TIM, Shepard is the only chance humanity has against the reapers.
