I think she was desperate for a connection. I honestly can't see this Baby Daddy or sex for the sake of sex. That last conversation where she jumps to a location was one final attempt to make a connection.

If she was looking for a connection, she wouldn't have hung up on the men as soon as they provided the files.

IIRC, one of the conversations even goes (something) like this-

Miranda: Let me see your medical files.

Guy: Alright. Here.

M: *reading file* Hmm, very impressive. Sending you my coordinates now.

Guy: So, do you have any interests? *Miranda disconnects without giving a response*

Sounds like she had a goal in mind and didn't want to waste time talking. Straight to business. :)

It's fun to make characters a lot like yourself. I'd imagine my Shepard has the same sense of humor I do.

I love some of those Renegade response in ME2, especially to the store vendors.

"That won't help me when I'm dead from equipment failure!"

ME2 Renegade Shepard was best Renegade Shepard. Perfect balance between hilarious and genuinely badass.

R.I.P. ME2 Renegade Shepard, 2010-2012

"Get out of here before it blows!" "What?" "RUN!" "*evil laugh* can't believe that actually worked"

Loved the ME2 Renegade Shepard.
In ME3 he is just a freaking psycho...

The dates don't really mix. I'd like to think that this happened years prior and the SR2 in her username is just a mistake.

That gives you a lot of breathing room.

And you could explain the book buying as her trying to learn about this as best she could.

At least this doesn't make her look likes she's able to manipulate time or something.

So Miranda's NOT the 12th Doctor? Just so we're clear...

I'm trying to make sense of it the best I can.

It would better fit the image I have of her anyway. Those emails are years old. She was young, she wanted a child and tried to do it the best way she could. It didn't work out and it fuels a drive in her. She protects her sister like a mother would a daughter.

**** I don't know.

It doesn't makes sense otherwise and this is a better explanation than what we got.

^ Now I just need an official response that the SR2 is a meaningless typo and I can live in peace.

Agreed. It fits more the idea that she was looking for a genetically suitable father. But the Lawbringer name, and the locations suggest that it was during the mission. Which, I'm sorry, is just nonsense.

So, really the point of it was to introduce the idea of her infertility, which in turn serves no purpose other than to be a part of her death scene.

Hence why the whole thing is best understood, as wright has put it, simply as a hatchet job intended to railroad her into the tragic late game death role in ME3.

That is also why the idea of Miranda wanting a child, or even Miranda being infertile, are not necessary bad ideas, but rather the fact that they were introduced with no other purpose than the hatchet job.

That is also why I would like to see more Miranda content. Because, now that that is over with, Miranda would no longer be stuck in that role Posted Image

But I think it's really pointless to overanalyse the dossier. I mean, I like some of the explanations everyone has come up with. But the reality is... meh. Responsability for the character changed hands and they decided to force her into a bad spot in the story. That's it, really Posted Image

the SR2 in her screen name isn't necessarily a mistake. The Normandy had to take years to rebuild, and she was likely aware that the game plan TIM had in mind after Lazarus was for her to serve on the SR2 along with Shepard. If the Lazarus project took two years, the Normandy may have been a concurrent project that took longer (rounding up crew on top of building the ship)

Pretty sure they waited till after the first Normandy blew up to build the second one.

Well, I would think anyways...

There is no such thing as overanalyzing flemm.

There are some stupid fools who sit and watch ten hour Andy Warhol films. And that's the whole film. All ten hours is one static shot of the Empire State Building.

Them: "Warhol has captured reality!"

Me: "**** no he hasn't. It's insulting."

We could be MUCH worse.

Assuming they built the SR2 from scratch, with no prior research done from the original Normandy (Which Cerberus was said to have had a part in creating, no less), then yeah, sure.

The only problem with that is that it's stupid.

LoL, that's true. Anyway, I'm not saying it's bad to do it. I've done it Posted Image

But rather that, at the end of the day, it doesn't really go anywhere. The dossier corresponds basically to the moment they decided she was going to be the late-game death.

The irony is ME2 Miranda would have worked fine in the death role. She dies for her Cerberus, killed by the man who embodies its perversion, but is ultimately victorious against them. So Shepard loses his most capable ally and must defeat Cerberus without her.

What are you talking about?  Miranda does die in ME3.  That's just silly talk.  You're silly!

Miranda.  Doesn't.  Die.  Okay?

It can be avoided. But that is the focus of her content. Anyone can see that. I don't like it, but that is what the group of devs responsable for her content this time around were focusing on.

It doesn't necessarily have to stay that way, which is why I'd like to see more Miranda Posted Image

You've just been tricked by Tali (I swear I'm siding with the geth next time.  That'll learn her).  Miranda is no Thane.

Wiki data...
Normandy SR1-commissioned in 2183
Lazurus Project completed 2185

Yeah, my theory doesn't work unless you assume that Cerberus was already working on the SR2 between 2183-2185

@bold-- What?

On topic-- Thank god for that. If Miranda was rail-roaded into dying I don't think I would play ME3 ever again, regardless of how well it's done.
