I didn't even know she could die until I came here. To be honest I probably would have never known.

When I first saw it was possible I had a huge WTF moment.

"Come here."

Except her death didn't accomplish anything.  At all.

That's true. it may be partly because they decided that the death would be a "fail" scenario, where she becomes a war asset if she survives (so that is the better outcome).

The option was there to make the tracer significant, but they decided not to do anything with that. The intent may have originally been that the tracer would save a significant part of the fleet when it attacks Cronos.

I hope they threw that out because somebody pointed out that Miranda saving part of the Alliance fleet isn't really a good "impact" for her to have, and that she should do something with salvaging some ex-Cerberus operatives, or something along those lines.

Maybe, I guess. We'll see.

Speaking of which, how is Kai Leng tracked if Miranda is dead from the Suicide Mission? Does Oriana do it? Does Traynor just magically find Cronos station?

Me too.  I also had that moment when I realized she would never be a squadmate.  I didn't know the list before I bought the game.

I actually only registered here when I played the endings and hated them.  Same reason I have a twitter (to annoy the devs).

Even though I'm not too big on the lipstick, this is still one of my favorite non-screenshot images of Miranda that doesn't utilize her in-game model.

You get some info from sanctuary that hackett uses to find the base, I believe. but you lose the element of surprise. There are some lines about this in the game, indicating a difference from the scenario where you have the tracer. But there isn't an actual impact.

Then what was the point of having Miranda put a tracer on Kai Leng? Just so she can say she helped?

Miranda shouldn't be condemned to death, period. Jtav, not trying to be mean but you have an unhealthy obsession with death, tragedy and wanting people to suffer. Sometimes I think you have a split personality disorder. One point you were all happy about Miranda and Shepard being the "perfect" boyfriend then the next you want to kill her. I don't agree with your "ideas".

Miranda died on my first PT of ME3, I don't know why, but I reloaded the end of that mission multiple times trying to get her to survive. I'm glad all my other PTs she lives.  I like Miranda and I  the way she says, "Shepard".

IMO, Miranda has the best accent out of any character. Traynor is a close 2nd, though.

I like Aussie accents.  Traynor pushes her London accent a little too much sometimes but yes, I like her voice too.

I won't lie, I'm still waiting for the game that has a female character with a thick cockney accent.

"OI, WUTCHA GOT OVA THER?"

People are attracted to foreign accents actually. It's one of those fun facts that everyone should know.

My comments on her death are largely unrelated to my feelings on romance. None of my Sheps will be riding off into the sunset anyway, especially Miranda's. Character death is a tool that can be used well (Mordin) or poorly (Miranda). If I were writing a novelization, I'd probably kill her, but in a very different way. Or I'd give her the "the person who lives on and carries on Shepard's legacy" role. Death does not equal dislike. I like my Shep. He dies.

I enjoy morbidity too. I published a top ten list for MUBI.com. Looking at it you'd think I was crazy. People going blind because if AIDS. Dead babies. Suicide.

But there comes a point when you're being morbid for morbid's sake. I cannot tolerate that kind of writing. There is no value in it. Walters does this and then attempts to assign meaning to it.

Miranda is just another body left in the wake of Mac Walters' pen. A testament to his inability to express emotion without force.

If people want to play the game as tragic, that's fine. I don't relate, but I can understand. I just wished Miranda's death had any meaning at all. Seriously, Jenkins' death is more meaningful.

The game is already grim. It's not even funny anymore. It's just unpleasant. I try and save as many as I can to make it LESS awful for the thirty or so hours I'm there.

Miranda and Jack have no reason to die. Not even Jacob deserves that ****.

I hope Leviathan is quality enough to overshadow some of the awful.

Well, I hate the idea of Miranda dying unavoidably because I really like Miranda Posted Image

I also think that, in an RPG like this, you should be able to choose. it is not quite like a novel or whatever. It is supposed to largely be the player's story.

Also, I agree on the whole "fun" issue noted above by others.

Having said that, character death is obviously an important part of fiction. It's not like it's objectively a bad thing to use it as a story device or to have a character die.

Mordin's death, which is another character I am extremely fond of, was handled well. Not ideally, imo, because the overall tone of the game is too moralistic for my taste, but it was handled well.

GrimSchmim.  My game features an ending of Sunshine, Hackett victory speeches, bunnies, Ashley, moar Ashley, and total victory.

We all miss EDI though.

Cheerfully.;)

But I do think having a Bucky/Coulson is a good idea and I tend to default to my favorites so it isn't malicious. Garrus or Liara work too. I'd cut down on the deaths in general and stick with one or two.

And Shepard dies for the sake of the ending because it's part of the two I like best.
