He says he COULD die. But I don't think I remember him saying that in the EC.

All I remember is him saying his thing about living without Synthetics.

And now this:

I never really understood why people didn't liker her. She was always pleasent and I enjoyed talking with her. But she also has a great sense of humor.

Really? Don’t see any reason to dislike a criminal overlord? So long as they’re funny, anyway.

Yeah, the catalyst only says that Shep himself is partly synthetic. He never spells out the implications of that (death or not).

Go watch it on YouTube. It does not say that in any way. It relies on you to infer incorrectly; very successfully, I might add. It’s a wonderful piece of writing.

 Here's the link for krukow:

wat

I'll have to go back and look at that scene again with the Catalyst.

If that is the case he IS appealing to emotion and really truly is a fallacious piece of ****.

It just relies on dumb fleshbags doing what they do, thinking emotionally, and mostly about themselves :)

Absolutely. This is coming from the same guy who wrote Mordin's scene. It'll be great, if it happens, and he writes it; and him alone.

That would certainly be my ideal scenario B)

More Miranda cosplay. Pretty cool...

I was about to put that in my favorites. Then I saw the heels. Ugh.

Yeah but he got more...pissy in the EC. He inflects and it's interesting to note. He isn't to fond of Destroy, but he shows more concern in Control, at least it sounds that way to me.

Although he presents Synthesis like a game show host.

Looking at him in that light, he's not only appealing to emotion he's entirely more concerned with his existence. That would explain his frustration with Destroy and his anger at being replaced in Control.

An interesting thing to ponder. Thank you ma'am.

Tell me Taboo! PM me if you must, but I want to know!!

Also, why would you use Miranda for the biotic bubble? You can't use her in your squad then!!

I always use her as the leader of the other team because she's Shepard's 2IC and made for that role. She's capable of making independent decisions and more than a follower, and that's what determines the role I assign her to. The biotic bubble, not so much because others are obviously more capable.

I don't know if the dialogue changed with the EC, but before it was like this: "You can wipe out all synthetic life if you want, inclucding the geth. Even you are part synthetic". The Catalyst never explicitly says you'll die, but when it says all synthetics will be wiped and that Shepard is part synthetic, that's its way of manipulating Shepard by implying that he would die.

I didn't take it that way. It implied there was a chance Shepard could die, which was true. It implied that Shepard would lose his implants. Post-Destroy, if he survives he'll be a full organic once again.

The catalyst in the vanilla game definitely felt like it was trying to dissuade Shepard from picking destroy. I don't see where it implied that only his implants would fail. It was meant to imply that he would die.

And he never stopped being a full organic. His implants are needed to maintain him. I never even saw how he was partly synthetic to begin with.

It says neither of those things.

All synthetic life is destroyed.

It doesn’t say Shepard will (not synthetic life), nor does it say that all synthetic components will (not synthetic life, either).

Like I said earlier, it’s brilliantly written to have been interpreted ‘correctly’ (i.e. incorrectly) by so many.

Edit: Essentially, it’s not allowed to lie (to the best of its knowledge), but it does have an agenda.

It's perfectly capable of lying.

Looking at it that way it certainly raises the bull**** meter.

I had always believed that it would affect Synthetic life before implants and such but I haven't really studied the dialogue.

He's painful to listen to. I do however get a hardy chuckle when he says "new variables".

And Shepard just stands there, looking the fool.

The best part is that this is emanating from a character that has questioned everything that he thought was wrong or needed to be questioned

I head canon lots of **** yous as I stumble over to the pipe. In all honesty, if there was EVER a time my Shepard was out of character, it was then.

He'd have debated the **** out that thing. Alas I get a bunch of "Okays" and "I WON'T DO THATS".

I really wish he would have taken another form.

It would have REALLY ****ed with my Shepard's head if he had appeared as Miranda.

I'd rather have a DLC be Miranda focused. No Aria or anything.

Not possible. She can be dead which means the plot has to be neutral enough to makse sense even without her. They will never restrict access to DLC based on whether you have Miranda alive or not. So the best you should hope for is major inclusion in some plot. Cerberus-Omega plot would fit very well, but don't get all "I want Miranda exclusive DLC". Not realistic nor fair to other characters. I'm hoping she's temp-squadmate in Omega and will provide lots of additional info on Cerberus and what they were doing with Collector Base

I know...

It simply hurts you know?

At least my Shepard anyway. Both of them are worried about one another and refuse to admit it to each other.

Not going to happen, but it would be nice if Miranda was a temp for the Avernus portion of the DLC--a return to the base. But I fear it will just be "Shepard and Aria blow up Cerberus bad guys real good."

But......what about Walters symbolism ?

You mean you were more attached to Miranda that the boy on earth ?

This may come as a suprise but...yes.

My Shepard...actually cared more for Miranda than Billy the Kid.

I'll let that sink in for you, as I'm sure it was Earth shaking for you.

BTW Taboo, I'm opening my "Use Omega's hub to include more romance scenes" thread today which will of course include Miranda, counting on you to bump/support it.

Of course I'll help. The more time with Miranda the better. I'd love to simply have her there.

Dialouge would be nice...
