Just that, personally, even without meta-gaming, I saw Samara and Jack as much more powerful biotics and, therefore, more capable choices.

Oh, I agree. I tend to use Samara, unless I'm intentionally doing something different, and I think most people probably do. It's the obvious choice.

However, as far as making the "wrong" decision is concerned, it's one that makes more logical sense than, for example, Jacob's "Kill me now! Do it!" moment in the vents

Fic author has a question:

Is it problematic to retcon away Miranda's infertility and replace it with another problem?

What would you replace it with?

Even though it wasn't implemented for many people in the right manner it IS a part of her character now.

Asari do use external augments as well (Liara does in ME).

Some do, but they don't have to. Some also have potential but do not develop it.

In any case Samara and Jack are clearly stronger than Miranda biotically. That's a no brainer. Although personally I wouldn't trust Jack with the bubble. Even though she can handle the load biotically, she's too unstable. Samara on the other hand is the most logical choice.

Oh, yeah, I don't see anything wrong with it as such. It's perfectly reasonable in some regards.

I just simply had Miranda and Thane as my Crew so I put Jack on Bubble. Its nice that you can see her character development in just that scene alone.

As David Gaider would say, you're writing the story. You do what you want :P

Well, it would bother me. I don't like scrapped/retconned canon.

Pfft. Something so trivial to fix and you want to bother with a retcon? Just fix it and maybe have the other problem come up after (and maybe imply further dastardly Lawson scheming as a result).

I think so, yeah. I assume you’re talking about completely replacing it, rather than a cure (which isn’t really infeasible if you want to include kids and don’t want to settle for adoption).

I think I’d favor just adding the other problem. There’s no reason why it it needed to be mentioned in the dossier, after all.

Actually replacing it yes. I don't want to say why because the scene may get scrapped, but Miranda would have a problem other than infertility in her past.

That's what I thought. I knew that some women got a nosebleed but I couldn't remember who. Thanks for clearing that up.

But is a natural biotic at as much risk as one with an implant? I hear that those chips are put in very carefully. I haven't done much research on the topic but I'm aware that they can be a serious issue.

Well, all biotics besides the asari are given implants. I would assume that non-asari biotics are put at a higher risk of "equipment failure" (Or something along those lines). IIRC, aren't there also cases of people going insane or dying due to mishandled implants?

As far as I know, That's only an issue with L2s. I'm not sure about L1s though. Shepard is an L3 in Mass Effect 1 and is upgraded to an L5 in Mass Effect 2. I believe it might be mentioned SOMEWHERE that L5s weren't even released at the time, suggesting Shepard is the only L5 as of ME2.

L2s have amazing Biotic Potential but it comes as the cost of the potential of Insanity and crippling brain issues. Kaidan only gets migraines however. When he was asked in ME1 if he would ever go under the knife for an L3, he suggested he could live with the headaches for the power boost. Not sure if he would after ME2 when there are L5s on the market (presumably).

So, I think insanity and death caused by the implants themselves (excluding cases of them being improprely installed) are only tied to the L2s. I could be wrong though.

I would also like to point out that, though the Asari, though powerful Biotics, can have implants installed to up their power level. Liara has one in Mass Effect 1.

WAIT! Here's a good Proposal:

Shooting probes on a Planet in a certain formation, so that the Scanners would read a message based on the positons of the probes on the surface. Based on the Computer, the probes' positions would spell out, "Miranda, will you marry me?"

Something similar to a Screenshot someone here posted of a Message made by launched probes.

I remember seeing a video where someone covered an entire planet in nothing but probes. Someone with a Kaidan RP account posted....

Kaidan Alenko: In the meantime, Five more colonies were abducted and Shepard's fish died.....again.

Well, you can do it =]

If you are asking,"Will everybody like it or think it's a good idea?" Then, probably not, but that's not really a requirement.

KS is uncurable.  Why do you want Miranda to die?

Because it's uncurable.

Lung transplant.

It also isn't a human disease. It's called being facetious.
