It's entirely useless information.
All it tells me about Tali is that she's infatuated with Shepard and wants to touch him. Male or Female makes no difference in this case.
Why that? Why would Liara give Shepard that information about Miranda? Surely there is more out there.

However, for the purposes of fanfic or something, one could certainly consider some of the info to be inaccurate. The SB must gather info from all over the place. Certainly not all of it is accurate, that would be impossible.

I still wonder how this guy on the first page predicted what would happen in ME3 sadlyThe Uncanny wrote...
How would everyone else react to Miranda being in a reduced role in ME3?

I just figured that Liara/The Developers would find me information that wasn't innocuous to the plot.
You guys have looked over it far more than I have. Looking at it ALL again it doesn't really even feel attached to the story at all. It FEELS like a gag.
Never mind the time loops. Look at the nonsense about Garrus listening to loud music while in firefights. He wouldn't do that.
It's just random nonsense.

Though I still wonder if there has been any comment from BioWare if it really is supposed to be canon or just a little easter egg from the developers... I guess there are many people who question it.

Once removed, said tissue could be repaired (WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY). I figure everything else about her reproductive system works. I'm sure Miranda would have noticed if something really odd was going.
And yes, I looked at medical pictures for all of you. These tumors can be the size of grapefruits. No wonder she can't get pregnant.

Well, for comparison's sake, do you spontaneously believe everything you read on the internet? There's a massive amount of official-looking false information out there.
I'm not arguing that this is the best or most obvious interpretation. But the starting point of the conversation
was more... is it problematic to ignore this in favor of another idea in a fanfic? So... I think that would be one plausible way of justifying the choice to do that. For that particular story idea.

Well, I am not someone who has hacked access to that particular account (my assumption since these kind of things are usually handeled very discreet). I doubt that it is inaccurate.flemm wrote...

But I am someone who takes everything at (sometimes too high) value. It just helps me immerse into the universe, imagine that it actually exists. And when something else (in this case fanfic) contradicts what was previously established as canon, it just throws me out of the universe a bit.
That's also where a large part of my dissapointment with ME3 comes from: countless contradictions and retcons to make the plot work.

Your canon is your canon. You can do whatever you want outside of the in game content. I really don't see how far fetched it is to fix a uterus if they can resurrect a man IN game.
That doesn't violate my suspension of disbelief at all.

That's cool. I'm not suggesting you should feel differently about it.
Everybody has different feelings about that sort of thing

That's what I mean. Right there. It captures Miranda.

That's my problem: I can't just say "That's not my canon". No, it happened. I read it right there. It happened inside the universe, if I like it or not.Taboo-XX wrote...
I think it's one of those things you put at the back of your head and pretend is as serious as Bioware thinks it is. Like the Catalyst.

Of course I can still interpret things different (like the iPartner e-mails), or provide a believable reason that speaks against the stated, but the facts are not ignorable in my view.
That's why I have problems with such fanfic. In my opinion it has to go with the official canon and expand on it, but some (the majority I believe) enjoys exactly that about fanfic: That it doesn't go with what was written in the game.

You have no reason to take things like that seroiusly simply because it simply could not have happened withing set timeframe. I'd venture to guess that what you have is a mistake with the SR2. In that case the email can be well over ten years old.
It would explain the books. It would explain the baby. It would even explain her feelings on certain things.
You cannot be held responsible for authorial mistakes like this.
I have terrible OCD about things like this and it sounds like you do to (And I don't mean that in an offensive manner so please don't take it as such.) and I'm getting around it. If your work through it, eventually it won't be an issue.

And really what I was asking is whether it's offensive to erase a medical condition if not having it could potentially move the story forward. Because erasing Joker's Vrolik's would be offensive. Though now I'm wondering if I can make the infertility do what I need it to.

When writing scripts in school the one thing they repeated over and over was "Can you justify this inclusion or exclusion?"
If you can make it work I see no reason for it to be offensive. That's always the condition for these kinds of things. Can you justify it not being included? You haven't really told me much so I can only venture to guess you have a very good reason for doing this.
If it is what I think it is it isn't offensive at all.
And AU is? Australia? Could you clarify?

jtav, I am really just a minority, but I could only accept that if there is a good reason provided, so without scrapping something canon.
Like that the e-mails are dated different than orignally thought and therefore she had the baby before she had the tumor, or even lost him/her beause of it.
Thanks to some reconsideration I now also classify the SR2 username to be a possible point for some interpretations: "SR2" does not have to be generally associated with the Normandy for example.
