You have yet to provide a LOGICAL explanation for the test result.

The fibroid is located ON the uterus. You have to test for that.

There was some symptom. She went to the doctor. They took tests.

No dear. That's NOT what it says.

Miss Lawson,As per your request for privacy, this message will be removed from our database upon confirmation of send integrity.

While we cannot firmly attribute the cause of the benign neoplasm to the irregularity in your genetic makeup, we can confirm that the progressive damage renders you unable to conceive a child.

About 12 percent of human women ages 18–54 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant according to data obtained from the Institute of Species Research (ISR). There are many support groups if you wish to discuss your condition and several options available should you wish to consider the adoption of a child.

If you require further consultation, please contact our communication officer.

i think I'm the only one amused that the doctor is named Banner. Even though that's not a surname, haha!

That's why this thing is so stupid. The intent is rather clear.

It's absolutely and utterly ridiculous. But that's the way it is.

Great discussion these past few pages... lmao

That liaison probably just cut his losses and killed himself afterwards. Wasn't going to get any better than that..

Sometimes you just have to accept that something doesn't really make all that much sense when you try to analyse it, and move on. Taken as a whole, the dossier is like that.

Do what I do: support  more Miranda content, and hope that Mr. Weekes supervises the direction in the future, which I think he plausibly will.

In retrospect, that's how my Shepard feels about Mass Effect 2

Miranda was headed into a suicide mission.

There was no expectation that the trip through the Omega 4 relay would be anything other than a one way trip. As such, the notion that Miranda was trying to get pregnant seems a bit... odd. Why would someone try to get pregnant when there is a very high possibility that she, and her unborn child, would be killed? I don't think the Shadow Broker files on Miranda's infertility and her online 'dating' are linked.

Miranda's sexual liason with a man she had just met online was nothing more than what it appeared...a meeting for casual sex. I just see it as her blowing off some steam and trying to live life to the fullest a time when it might soon be ending for her.

I think it was the writer's intent that we link those elements of the dossier. I refuse to do it for various reasons, one of which you just mentioned.

You all seriously think that if Miranda just wanted a child, she wouldn’t go to a sperm bank?! Can you imagine how organized those places are?

She. Wants. Sex. Women do. Shocking, I know!

I think that Mass Effect is a videogame and that there is a purpose for what the developers put in it.
As such, I find it hard to believe that going through a medical exam in a fertility clinic (which I am told are quite unconfortable and not something you do routinelly) that detects her inability to conceive right after a very "professional" sexual encounter is not a coincidence.
You could make the claim there is no reason to believe the entries are organized in  chronological order but, once again, I doubt their order was not premeditated by the devs.

As to why she would choose such an inpractical method to conceive? I honestly don't know.

Hell, if it makes you feel better, imagine that it’s really a burning desire for Shepard that she can’t fulfill with him yet.

That was unnecessary.

Why is there an email from the Pre Natal department then? It has no reason for being there.

It's absolutely ridiculous.

Do you think they put in in there for the lulz? I sure as **** think it's there to tell you something.

Occam’s razor (now with 5 blades!): she’s not trying to conceive.

It was a little bit. But you might be surprised (or maybe not) how many men find the very idea of women having casual sex offensive.

Occam's Razor flings the other way here dear.

Answer MY point not his. Do not ignore the specifications of the above material.

I care about the inconsitency of the material. Sex is of no concern of mine. People's pasts are there business, which is why I don't read the dossiers.

I love that there's 9,203 pages of debate about the obvious thing (she wanted a kid) and not the questionable thing (did she cheat on a romanced shep?)...

The thing that makes me say she's using these men as sperm donors is she cares only about their health. Not compatible preferences in the bedroom or anything I would expect someone looking for casual sex to care about.

Miranda having one night stands doesn't really bother me. However if I was Shepard seeing how she treated those guys would really make me wonder about having a relationship with her.

Also does anyone know who wrote the dossiers?

Why she chose that way to conceive. Because the writer, I mean Miranda, has an obsession with doing things naturally, over against her "unnatural" conception.

The simplest explanation is likely to be the correct one. Why would Miranda try to find an optimal specimen of manliness and have sex with that person, rather than go to a sperm bank? She wouldn’t.

Answer MY point not his. Do not ignore the specifications of the above material.

I was talking to him. What is your point, anyway?

And... we're still on about this?

Different interpretation away!

Miranda hooked up on a dating site pre ME2. Being the detail obsessed control freak* she is, she demanded medical checks for STDs and the like (settling for nothing but the best) and finally got an acceptable match. Some time later she gets a pregnancy scare and again being detail obsessed... you get the picture, gets herself checked out (peeing on a stick ain't good enough). And that's when good old pre-green Doc Banner tells her she can't have kids at all. Bam!

*exaggerated for humor

Authorial intent is Occam's Razor here, not your head canon.

You know damn good and well what the point is. Damn good and well. You have dragged this out for multiple pages and ingnored my points by chopping my posts to bits.

I think it was Jay.

And yeah, her treatment of the men was apalling and would make any Shep not already locked in drop her like a hot rock. Casual sex is A-OK.
