Probably not Posted Image

And I would certainly like to see Mr. Weekes write the character again, or at least supervise the direction. For reasons I have explained in detail on other occasions, but basically because his writing tends to balance the big picture and the personal connection very well.

So, ummm, I think you guys are starting to get a bit of backup quarterback syndrome with Weeks.

You know, where a team's QB sucks, so everyone convinces themselves the back-up would be so much better, but then it turns out he's the backup for a reason?

I like Weeks, but let's not act like he's the greatest thing ever, ever. There's plenty of chance his ME3 Miranda would suck too.

I dunno. I think a Dombrow Miranda could be pretty cool. And he's a stronger romance writer.

Miranda doesn't need an another writer. She only needs a bigger place in the game, so we can see everything that makes her the the character so many people likes.

Well, her writer (Jay Watamaniuk) was moved to SWTOR team according to Dr Doctor. :P

A chance, but a smaller one. He wrote the version everyone fell in love with.

And Mac Walters was one of the two guys in charge of ME2...

yeah, the exact line is "I'm a REAL person; flaws and all. Not sure if that's your thing anymore!"

Still catty and ****y as hell. And it shows that she is just plain mean.

"clearly you were a mistake."
~Miranda Lawson trolling a child toturted and experimented on by her employers.

Sometimes people are just b*tchy

After being confronted and insulted, and probably threatened, by said child who attacks her. Miranda did not provoke a response from Jack.

Ashley says what she says about Miranda out of spite, because from her POV "WAAAHHH!! THAT PERFECT WOMAN STOLE MY BOYFRIEND!!!!"

Ashley, after I died and came back, the first thing you said to me was that I was a traitor to everything I stood for, because I fought for everything I stood for though I was doing it on my own with Cerberus because the alliance refused to help. You called me a traitor because I said the Reapers and Collectors need to be stopped, and your alliance called me an idiot and wanted to shut me up, while simultaneously using my image as a recruiting tool. Cerberus saw the threat and stood beside me, and gave me the resources I needed to do my job. If it wasn't for the fact they were indoctrinated, you can be damn sure which uniform I'd be wearing.

There's a reason why my Shepard gladly joins Cerberus. And Ashley only exacerbates it.

The key to Miranda was balance, flemm stated above. She appealed to all sorts of people will all sorts of political, religious and even social beliefs.

That's great writing. Really great.

We ended up with some incredibly... unpleasant implications in some areas. And I'm not talking about the dossiers either.

Uhhhh, Miranda's an active part of cerberus dude.  I get that's she's your waifu, but she's second in command of the group that tortured and experimented on a child (well multiple actually).  Just saying they "went rogue" doesn't mean Jack doesn't have an ax to grind.  Miranda, by proxy of cerberus, totally provoked her.

Miranda's total ice queen treatment of Jack the whole game doesn't help.

I side with Miranda, but she's totally a b**** to Jack (and everyone else).  Just how people are sometimes.

The Normandy in ME3 is depressing.

If only we were able to pick our squad ..

there, there... i know what you mean.

i'd like to have THIS squad as well 8D

Who are them? The one in the middle is clearly using an Incisor (and I suppose it's a custom Shepard) but I do not recognize the others.

EDIT: wait, aren't these The Avengers? Steve's hair doesn't look right, though...

that drawing came up loooooooooooooooong ago before Multi Player was even announced
this was something i did for Mel (left), Yannkee (middle) and myself (right), if we were mass effect universe characters.

And you're right about the incisor ;)

Cerberus Cells don't talk to one another.

Miranda had no knowledge of what happened there.

That's why she's voices disgust at them keeping children there.

And my goodness, I have no issues with Miranda wanting children. Nor do I see a career and family as mutually exclusive. I am worried about the tendency to present them as such, for obvious reasons. I don't like the romance Destroy slide but that's because I'd rather get the non=romance version.

She's the XO, not part of a cell.  And you're responsible for people under your command, wether they're "rogue" or not.

I don't think Miranda can be said to have provoked that confrontation (except by existing, which doesn't really count Posted Image). She doesn't condone what happened there, and can be part of the squad when you destroy the facility.

Jack provokes the confrontation. It is undertandable that she would do that, but I don't think one can say Miranda provokes her "by proxy" or something. She would not have gone downstairs to provoke Jack. Miranda refuses to back down. No doubt she could have handled it better, so I don't think either character is in the right here.

But Miranda only says "You were a mistake" after Jack threatens to "smear her to the wall." So... meh.

She wouldn't admit what cerberus did to Jack was wrong.

I mean, really?  She's the waifu of choice here, and awesome, but that's like those Penn St fans who still defend Joe Paterno...

Certain things in ME3 play into some rather questionable...ideas.

The same goes for ME2 but not in the same extent.

And I'm still not talking about the dossiers.

We don't hear the start of the conversation. But Miranda admits what happened there was wrong. What she denies is that it defines her (and the organisation she works for), basically. She's being threatened, at least implicitly. So, no, in those circumstances, there's really no reason for her to back down.

Because they were written later. I think they thought ME3 Miranda would go over well, bar complaining about non-squad status. Instead the fanbase rioted and even non-fans were displeased. Hence damage control.

As if they were unaware that many fans - especially Miranda's - would rather have interesting characters than stereotypical ones.

It isn't that.

Far from it.

It's as old as time itself in this instance and it makes me facepalm.

Yeah, and my Shepard is an active part of Cerberus as well. And that cell was rogue, as in even TIM was lied to by the scientists there. And when he found out, he sent up a cleanup team and eliminated the people in charge. Yes it was for his own reasons of course, but he never condoned what happened there. And Miranda, by proxy of Cerberus?

Miranda had nothing to do with Jack. You mean Cerberus, by proxy of Miranda, provoked her. And even then it wasn't Cerberus.

Not to mention Jack has been destroying Cerberus assets and murdering Cerberus personnel on her own.

And yeah Miranda's an ice queen. She is a person underneath, but no one ever bothered to try and see it. She judges people based on their actions. She doesn't like stupidity and she doesn't like incompetence.

Ashley is a spiteful, arrogant, ignorant, and suspicious of everything that's not alliance. She judges people based on what species they are and her ideas are rather flawed, supporting the destabilization of other governments to make the alliance stronger.
